The technology that is used in human resource management can help make things easier for not only the HR department but everyone in that organization. But before any new technology is purchased and set into play, it is very important for the organization to do their research on the product. They shouldn’t be purchasing technology just because it is the newest and greatest, they need to make sure they are putting their money into something that will help the company in the long run by making the organization run smoother. They need to make sure it is something that is definitely needed and whether it will help improve the management of their resources.
Biometric hand scanner system is a biometric machine that can scan an employee’s hand and that will clock the in and out for their shifts. It verifies the employee’s identity in seconds by taking a 3-D reading of the size and shape of the employee’s hand. This hand scanner will not only save the company money, but it is also cost efficient because it will cut down on fraud and the use of the “buddy system.” It will make it impossible for other employees to clock in their co-worker friends that might be running a little behind that day, or clock them out at the end of their shift if a co-worker friend would like to leave a little early one day. HR can benefit greatly by the hand scanner because it will help them with calculating payroll, time, and attendance, it will also make it easier to keep up with all that information. They won’t have the issue of an employee saying they worked 50 hours, but only got paid for 40 hours, because that employee will have to be present, scan their hand in order to be counted as being at work for that day.
