During this assignment I’ll be analysing the reasons why costs in a business need to be controlled by budgets. The company I’ll be talking about is ‘Premium Soft Drinks’. If they continue to not control their budgets then their profits will be largely affected; showing that budgeting is a method to control cost because it gives businesses an estimate of what their revenue as well as cost should be. Businesses must to budget + control what they’re spending so they can know what’s been spent and what’s been received, otherwise uncontrolled spending could occur which could lead to deterioration of the business.
A major problem that could occur if the costs aren’t controlled to budget is high fixed cost per item. This reduces a business’ profit …show more content…
Even if the business does sell the budgeted amount of drinks that they expect to then they’ll be left with hardly any profit. They could be in a risk of having a poor cash flow as their budget report tells us they expected to make a profit of around £20,000 every month but only made £9,000 – This shows us that the business is left in risk of not having enough money to cover their costs and expenses. Another reason why costs need to be controlled to budget is high staff costs. A overspend on employees will automatically lower the organisations profit. Therefore they should increase the wages based on employee’s productivity and their completion of their objectives/goals. The business needs to avoid the overlap as well as redundant duties due to they don’t need more people than what’s required to be doing the same job, as this will result in having areas where they could cut back on and could lead to

Everyone else wants to learn these companies' trade secrets. However, the success of the business does not lie on the recipe itself. It's a combination of marketing strategy, good location, quality product and service, and branding. We need this project because many of Filipinos are hooked up by this waffles and pancakes. And with so many all-day breakfast restaurants popping up, it’s never been easier to eat breakfast food at any time of the day or if you’re a breakfast addict, for every meal. It’s not molecular gastronomy, but waffle can be a bit tricky. It can be mean different things to different people, for one thing. While it was the ancient Greeks who originally started cooking flat cakes between hot metal plates, it wasn’t until the 13th Century that they started being stamped with various designs. The Dutch were the ones who started calling them waffles and today, there are several different Belgium alone.  Pancakes have a long history, dated back to the times of Ancient...

...Overseas sourcing, without risk Here are some rules to keep your supply chain problem-free and avoid negative publicity at home and abroad Zero tolerance Shut the door firmly on illegal activity johnkworks/Shutterstock.com Managing fraud and corruption risk and protecting brand reputation is becoming increasingly important when sourcing from overseas destinations. With the changing enforcement milieu, extra-territorial statutes and zero tolerance around acts of bribery and corruption, brands need to constantly monitor their supply chains. These supply chains transcend international boundaries, with business partners (suppliers, vendors, service providers and such) being located across geographies, having different cultures and work ethics. Therefore, it is a challenge for any company to know and curb supply chain risks. To implement the code of conduct uniformly throughout the supply chain, companies have to change the mindsets of employees and business partners overseas through continuous learning and development. Winning and expanding business overseas could be a time-consuming and arduous task in some cases. Facilitation payments and kickbacks are easy quick fixes. Many sourcing destinations are countries that rate low on the Transparency International index, where vulnerabilities around vendor kickbacks and bribery of officials are prevalent. Mounting business pressures, aggressive timelines to complete projects and high costs involved have the tendency to spur unethical...

Human Resource Accounting

...Answers Professional Level – Options Module, Paper P4 Advanced Financial Management 1 December 2010 Answers Up to 4 professional marks are available for the presentation of the answer, which should be in a report style. The decision should be taken in the best interests of the shareholders and other stakeholders of the company. Obviously all the input numbers should be considered on basis of their reasonableness and accuracy. Hence the positions of the interested parties will be considered on this basis. 1. Cease Trading and Liquidate the Company This is probably not in the best interest of any party. Debt holders only receive 55·7c for every $1 invested and the shareholders receive nothing (see appendix, proposal 1). Furthermore, the parts division is continuing to make a profit and should possibly continue. The Board may want to consider closing just the fridge division, and focusing on the parts manufacturing division, with the possibility of pursuing the option of the mobile refrigeration business. However, in this case, the problem of the lack of funding might continue. 2. Corporate Restructuring and Management Buy-Out Shareholders The shareholders would benefit from either proposal two or three, as opposed to the first proposal, as they stand to gain some funds. The restructuring proposal requires them to pay $40m cash for new shares but lose their control of the company (the shareholding falls to just under 13%). On the other hand the statement of financial position...
