First, I would like to acknowledge the efforts and contribution of every one who made the course a successful one. I have enjoyed and encourage others willing to purse it to continue with the ambition. It was too educative and informative enough and I really appreciate taking the course for the period. I have found that Inspiration comes from the environment we a living and therefore important for every interested person in these field to open up his or her eyes and ears to see and listen to it and this is in connection with the short stories and poetry I have read in this course.
From the poetry work and the short stories ranging from the chrysanthemums by John Steinbeck, A worn path, The Tell-tale heart, and the “Araby” by James Joyce I have been able to understand the flow of writing story. Despite how short or long the writing is the following elements a very necessary in any form of writing. The character, setting, plot, and conflict are examples of the main elements of any story the author should put in to consideration at all time if his or her piece of work will come out successful. Setting is all about time or the place of action, character can be an individual or any other creature active in the story.
The plot indicates the flow or series of events while the conflict is the struggle or an opposition that comes out in the story. I have discovered that the flow of the tension is very important and should be in such a way that it keep increasing throughout the story then the climax should be towards the end and then ease the tension by ending up with a resolution to the conflict. For example a conflict that is seen between the husband who fail to recognize his wife and more so what she treasure and how it should end evident in Steinbeck's story.
In conclusion, the understanding has made me build interest in reading more short stories and poetry in order to perfect my skills in writing something I aspire to do in the near future. It is therefore important for any person with the ambition in writing to be fully conversant with the environment and the listen to the world clearly and therefore success in his or her piece of writing.

Uop Review Paper

...Associate Level Material Appendix D Research Plan As part of your research plan, you must first draft a research question for your research paper that will guide the rest of your writing. A research question, which is more specific and focused than a general topic, is the question that your research paper will be answering. For example, if your general area of interest is social security, a possible research question might ask “How can low-income families save more money if the United States had a reformed social security plan that includes personal retirement accounts?” As you develop a research question, keep in mind that you will need to research sources to support your topic. Do not pick a one-sided question that will limit your research. Instead, develop a research question that lends itself to further exploration and debate—a question for which you genuinely want to know the answer. Try to pick a research question that is neither too broad, which covers too much, or too narrow, which covers too little. It should be broad enough to be discussed in a short research paper. |What is your general topic or area of interest? |I want to look deeper into the percentage of teen pregnancy now | | |versus back then. | |What is it about your general topic of interest that interests |I have a lot of friends that are teen moms. ...Company Overview: The company provides online and on-campus post-secondary education geared primarily towards working adults. Its flagship institution, University of Phoenix, has an alumni network of 700,000 people. Founded in 1973 by John Sperling, it has grown to become the world’s largest private education provider. It offers undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degrees in numerous fields. In 2007, it formed a joint venture with the Carlyle Group to expand its market internationally. The goal was to utilize e-learning to educate the masses in the developing world, where the number of post-secondary institutions is not able to meet demand. The current CEO of the company is Gregory W. Cappelli. Dr. Sperling still serves on the Board as Executive Chairman. Current Issues: 1. Public perception about proprietary education providers and, more specifically, online learning. Due to the inconsistent quality of education provided by different proprietary schools, the overall image and reputation of the industry is not that great. These for-profit institutions are often viewed as diploma mills. Here are some comments I’ve personally heard about them: “They’ll graduate anyone that can afford to pay the tuition” and “the quality of education that you receive is inferior to a traditional university”. Similarly for online programs, regardless of whether they’re from a profit or non-profit institution, many people don’t feel that they provide the same interaction as a brick and mortar...

Uop It/236 Final Paper

...Over the last nine weeks there are many different things that we learned about the creation and design of a website for a company. We learned how a target audience can effect the site traffic to how the different colors and fonts can make a big difference on how a person views the site. The site that have chosen to examine and evaluate was that of Apple.com. There are many different things about the site that I really liked and there was very little that I did not like after thoroughly going over the site. First of all I need to say that I tend to be on the bias side as I am an avid Apple user and have been for quite sometime. When I first visit the site I find that the colors and animations are top rate as one would come to expect from a company like Apple. The stylistic use of fonts and color is vibrant and eye catching so much where that it draws you into the site and want to see more. It is very interactive and has been very thought out on where things need to be places such as links and interactive pop ups as you browse the site. One good thing about the site is that if you are an apple owner such as a Macbook or iMac the site is more interactive with the computer itself. Finding information about new systems or even ones that you have already is very easy and is just a click away. The uniformity of the fonts and styles is very good and keeps its very easy on your eyes and does not make you strain to look at things or confuse you with too much going on. As far...

Uop Famous Thinkers Paper

...Famous Thinkers PHL/458 14 April 2014 Instructor: Wendy Rusnock Twentieth Century Thinkers Beginning in the early 1900’s at the turn of the century, was a time of change, brilliance, dedication, and new-found technology. From quill pens to ink pens, horse and carriages to the earliest motor vehicles, the segregation of Blacks and Whites to the Civil Rights movement, handwriting important information on tablets to storing important information in a computers; the Twentieth Century saw a tremendous amount of positive contributions to society. Some contributions made in the last century are often over-looked and taken for granted. North Americans in particular have become a bit spoiled with all that is “just there.” What we have forgotten, and often needs reiterated is that without the integrity and dedication found in the creative minds of the Twentieth Century, the United States would be living as if it were still 1901 rather than 2011. This for many today would be considered the dark ages. There are various individuals that are responsible for the growth during this time period. Two of the most influential, though each had separate goals, were Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Bill Gates. Both individuals contributed a great amount and may have gone down in history as having changed the way the world thinks and worked personally, socially, and politically. Martin Luther King Jr. was arguably one of the most influential civil rights activists and speakers of the century...

Term Paper Uop Eco/372

...Term Paper .Economics is used in almost all aspects of life. It is about the choices and decisions we make. An understanding of economics will show how to live and exist in the world today and help us understand how the business world works. As the concept of economics is discussed, many terms are used to describe how economics works in the world. There terms will be defined so that they are better understood throughout the discussion of the economy and market demand. The terms Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Real Gross Domestic Product, Nominal Gross Domestic Product, Unemployment rate, Inflation rate, and Interest rate, help to break down the analysis of economics and give a better understanding of the direction our economy is headed. Part One: Terms and Definitions Gross domestic Product (GDP) is the market value of all recognized final goods and service produced within a country. It is measured by household consumption spending, business investment spending, and government purchases to equal net exports. It is important to the economy because it shows the growing economical rates. Real GDP is an adjustment for inflation. It is based on the prices of a good or service in a year with inflation or deflation accountability. It accounts for changes in the pricing level and then provides a more accurate figure. Economist rely on this to get a constant pricing. Nominal GDP does not adjust for inflation. It is based on the prices of goods or services in a year without inflation...

...writing. In fact, the three universities that I have attended in the past have all required me to use the APA style of writing. As I recall my high school years, the APA style of writing also seemed to be a favorite amongst my high school teachers. They all required that term papers be written in APA style as well. This type of writing actually does not differ much from the ones included in the text reading. The text mentioned the APA style of writing several times. In my opinion, it appears to be the most popular style of writing, especially amongst college students. Based on the results of the quizzes, my grammar skills were actually a little better than average. I actually had expected to do better, but I guess my grammar skills are not as good as I thought they were. In any event I feel very confident when it comes to spelling, as I have always been a great speller. Even in grade school, I was a good speller. I learned at a very young age to challenge myself when it comes to spelling. Challenging my-self in that area really paid off as I became older, as I’ve never had a problem with spelling. However, I feel that I need more help with run on sentences and with thought patterns. Though I proof read my paper several times, it’s hard for me to see that I have several run on sentences until after I get my grade back. In general, I feel that my writing is just mediocre. However, I also believe that when it comes to writing, I am my own worst critic. Reason being, I am never...

How to Write a Good Academic Paper?

...How to Write a Good Academic Paper? That is a question which most students ask and most of them are new to academic writing. Academic writing if taken as a whole, then it would help you figure its significance and what is more important is, it would help you understand the purpose of it. Any good academic writer’s quality is his/her mind is loaded with creative set of ideas that help him navigate through the whole topic of academic paper. Ideas lead you to somewhere and only a few good students are gifted by nature and if you are not then you can also build up a good rhythm of academic writing. Secondly, you should also have a good sense of your audience; you should know what element of your academic writing would entice them and also create some space for your write-up for reading in their schedule. You then research for resources and data that would be of great use to enlighten your readers. Knowing what you audience wants, should be in your priority because readers enjoy what they seek in your writing. Usually what they look out for is something that could either bring them a smile or get them to think over the subject. Having creative ideas doesn’t guarantee a good and well-researched academic writing. You need to able to figure out ways of putting your research in a proper format so that readers don’t feel deviated from the focal point of your write-up.
