Summarizing the resources by e-mail:
Hi Friend,
I have just enrolled at the University of Phoenix on-line program and I am very excited. UOP provides great services and resources. Some of the resources they offer are Student Text Resource, Associate Level Writing Style Handbook, Toolwire Learnscape Student Resource and Transcript, Center for Mathematics Excellence (CME), Center for Writing Excellence (CWE), Reference and Citation Generator, Grammar and Writing Guides, Learning Toolkit and Live Math Tutoring. This is my first on-line course and I was blown away with the fact they offered a three weeks orientation to help new students to become familiar with the University’s on-line program.
I like the fact that there is a discussion board or forum where the students get a chance to intermingle with each other and discuss issues posted by the instructors. I would recommend UOP to anyone who is interested in on-line learning.
I feel very excited and everyone is very friendly and helpful. You would love attending UOP on line classes.

...Associate Level Material Appendix F Reading Strategies Worksheet Identify two reading goals, one short-term and one long-term. • Long-term reading goal: Become proficient and efficient reader • Short-term reading goal: Determine what reading strategies work for me and which do not. Write a 100- to 150-word response to each of the following questions: • How do you currently approach the weekly readings in the course? Currently my approach is a bit lazy. I will skim through each chapter and pick out the important parts. Those parts I will read, after reading a question I will go back to the reading and re read what I need to. I think I might have to reconfigure my approach and just read through the material the first time, take notes and use highlighting methods to comprehend the readings more. I find that the readings have been fairly easy so far and that may be giving me a false sense of confidence, so rather than being hit by surprise later I will be proactive and start using these methods now. • How might you incorporate three of the suggestions covered this week into your study time? I learned a lot about reading strategies and the best one I see that can be incorporated immediately is highlighting key sentences or phrases. I can also use the reading with concentration method, by removing myself from any and all distractions while reading I believe I will comprehend more information that I read. Last note taking and using flash cards...

First I start by reading the syllabus, Highlight the main important areas then go in to the material and separate the pages……. So when I have time I can read and go thru and most likely follow not in that exact order but now as I been reading I can at least sort it out in order. 1. Previewing: Slowly page by page to be able to see how the content extended is 2. Marking: Before the course I did not marked nothing but now I try to mark the main content discussed on class or more closely related to the weekly questions. 3. Reading with Concentration: This is the time when I take advantage of brake times or just simply night time after every one is sleep to be able to concentrate and keep myself away from any situation that will distract me from what I need to focus. 4. Reviewing: right now I usually don’t do it but after reading the plan for active reading I am trying to do it. • How might you incorporate three of the suggestions covered this week into your study time? I can perhaps practice mapping more often more like index cards on a notebook; and try to use more the lab and electronic devices tools that the university...
