In the story, “Invitation to a Murder,” which was written by Josh Pachter, the plot was structured by using situational irony. Situational irony is when actions have an effect that is opposite from what was intended. The first situational irony is Eleanor Abbott invited twelve men who had a background of being successful with their law enforcement or judicial experience.
