Using utilitarianism to analysis both costs and benefits of Ford may be considered as a moral and immoral action and this belongs to each person and each customer. Therefore, before making the last decision that whether redesign or not to ensure bringing the greatest benefits for the greatest people Ford’s managers should do several steps below. First, they should examine preference of customers to research what they want. Then, they collect their ideas to choose the best decision that satisfies the greatest number of customers. However, there are also some problems when using utilitarianism to analysis Ford’s case that utilitarianism cannot solve. First, Ford cannot compare between compensation and injuries, pains or even live of customers because how we can figure out the utility customers would get out of compensation is more or less than what customers will loose from these accidents. Before deciding redesign Pinto, the Ford’s managers decided that the human’s lives was worth $ 200,000 million and it seemed to be immorally and arbitrary when assigning the price to the life. The managers of Ford have to know that there is no price for life and health of people. When they consider the right to approach, they should not have ignored customer’s safety but they must try their best to improve their cars to ensure best products for customers. Of course, all of people do not want to exchange their lives with compensations or anything and they always ready pay more money for buying cars with new design to ensure their lives. Therefore, in this case, Ford accidently violated human’s right that Ford cars may take it away. Moreover, when using utilitarianism to analyzes the Ford’s case, there are several society organizations that influenced economics such as hospital, employing and training employees. Because hospitals must spend social security fund curing injuries and employing and training the new employees in the case they die in accident with Ford’s cars. In conclusion, utilitarianism is analyzed in Ford’s case to create the biggest benefits for the greatest people that base on monetary measurement. However, monetary system may not evaluate all costs and benefits because Ford cannot compare between compensations and injuries, pains or lives of customers. Therefore, to solve this problem, Ford should do something before choosing the last decision such as examining customer’s references or combining the right and ethic of care to ensure success in business as well as satisfaction of their customers.

There are three types of Utilitarianism, act, rule and preference. Act Utilitarianism was initially developed by the theorist and psychological hedonist, Jeremy Bentham who believed that our main aim in life was to achieve 'happiness' and avoid 'pain'. However, in the article I read; Analyzing Insider Trading from the Perspectives of Utilitarian Ethics and Rights Theory written by Robert McGee, McGee described that as a bit of an outdated perspective. He instead gave a description of what he sees as the “modern utilitarian position”, where in order for something to be considered ethical, the gains would simply need to exceed the losses. He uses both of these definitions of utilitarianism to weigh the ethical correctness of insider trading and to address the common arguments against such practices from a utilitarian standpoint. The most obvious strength of this approach is that it serves to benefit the most amount of people. In his article, McGee emphasizes that efficiency is not a substitute for ethics, which I see as paralleling utilitarianism and is another aspect that makes it such a rational approach. This ensures that even though there may be a way to do something better/faster, if it doesn’t result in a positive outcome for the most amount of people, it isn’t the right thing to do. It is centered on the concept of happiness, and those who seek it. The idea is that all people seek happiness, and that it is the ultimate goal of all human beings to be happy.
