imagine it is 1777 the sun is coming up on the horizon and the only thing keeping you warm is the people around you. They are all sick with some unknown sickness that has kept you up for days the only thing that comforts you is the thought of going back to your home and soon you will have the choice to do so.you are a solider staying at valley forge and you have been so sick for staying with so many other sick people. You missed your family since the day you left but now it is the only thing that you can think about. you were thinking about deserting the army but then you remember that you can choose to re-enlist or you can leave. you could re-enlist which would mean that you could stay and help fight for your country but then you would have a greater chance of dying in the war. not only that but if you look at the details in the back there seems to be quite a few men who are wearing little clothing and have crutches and stuff like that and if you look at he weather in the background it seems to have snowed everywhere and there is icicles on the houses.if i was living at valley forge at this time i would probably be thankful for the congress coming but at the same time the five people could not do very much for the whole continental army and i would probably not be helped and still be suffering after congress came.people might say that in document b it says in the picture description that the congress men were very helpful. But i believe that this is from a secondary source and that the description has some bias in
