Three programs stood out to me as I did research, and those three are VetOfficeSuite.com, eVetPractice.com, and ezyVet.com. As you read through this paper, I will explain the pro and cons of each different software package.
VetOfficeSuite.com was founded in March, 2010, by Eric Bregman, VMD. Eric is the co-owner of the Bregman Veterinary Group, a growing group of Veterinary practices started by his father Dr. Jack Bregman, in Coney Island, NY in 1970. Eric, his dad Jack, and his brother Allan Bregman, DVM, now own 3 veterinary hospitals and a Nuclear Medicine facility in the New York City area, and recently have expanded to Orlando, Florida, where they will have 2 additional full service veterinary hospitals. eVetPractice.com began back in 2011 when our owner and founder, Eddie Heinz, was tasked by his sister-in-law to find an affordable practice management solution that offered the necessary features to run the new mobile practice she was beginning. Dr. Kristen Arp had worked in corporate medicine for some time and new the value of properly managing her business, but like most veterinarians, did not have a background in software and was concerned about making the right choice. Fortunately, she reached out to the family software developer for assistance. ezyVet was founded in 2006 out of the desire for an intuitive, affordable and customisable software that could cater to Veterinary Practices of all sizes and compositions. Plenty of other software options existed but none seemed to tick all the right boxes. Packages either lacked in feature set or were too confusing to implement successfully into everyday practice. The high cost of the available Veterinary Practice Management (VPM) packages were yet another headache, which made it financially out of reach for a large portion of clinics. With a bit of kiwi ingenuity and a lot of passion ezyVet came to fruition….. A powerful cloud based, feature rich, customisable and easy to use VPM solution for Veterinary Practices all around the world.
VetOfficeSuite.com is a Cloud Based Practice Management Solution created by a family of veterinarians, for veterinarians to use around the world. They envisioned creating a platform that would save tens of thousands of dollars on servers, IT Staff, backup systems, and portal fees. They built the most user friendly product on the market, so people with basic computer skills could quickly get the hang of it. They were familiar with paying thousands and thousands of dollars for practice management software, incurring additional charges at every turn to add users, stations, and backups, and wanted to eliminate those costs. They created a platform that would give veterinarians everything they need and nothing they don’t, and listen to user feedback to make their platform better.
Here are some of the features provided by VetOfficeSuite.com. A paperless practice will save you time and money. VetOfficeSuite.com gives you the ability to print certificates for your clients, and e-mail them on the spot. As you add a transaction or prescription into a pet's invoice, a certificate or label automatically becomes available for you to send, which saves you time on Spay Certificates, Neuter Certificates, Microchip Certificates, Vaccination Certificates, Health Certificates, Estimates, Chart Labels, X-Ray Labels, and Prescription Labels.
Keeping your clients information safe, is another feature. When communicating with a client, you must keep a record of the conversations to ensure that people are getting the correct information from your practice and others know exactly what you client has been advised. VetOfficeSuite.com provides you with a professional looking document that you can e-mail to your client to give them an accurate history of communications. The communication area is a free field where you can type your content or use the Talk-To-Text feature that most tablets have for a quick and easy summary. For security reasons, the client communication records will lock after 24 hours to prevent changes from being made.
The Documents & Images section is where you will keep all of your important records. You can upload files from your computer or from an e-mail quickly & easily with a simple click, or you can drag & drop multiple documents to save time. Want to document the way your patient is walking? Use a tablet to video their movement and upload it on the spot. You can also use the camera on your tablet to quickly upload a photo with great clarity. Pre-populated folders are set up in separate categories, so you can file Lab Results, X-Rays, Ultrasounds, Clinical Images, Previous Medical Records, E-Mail Correspondence, Referral Reports, and Invoices.
Keeping accurate medical records for patients is essential to any veterinary practice. When seeing a patient, your diagnosis, assessment, and treatments need to be documented and locked as a legal medical record. They are a range of medical forms, from SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan) to Ultrasound to Surgery that will pre-populate with your practice information, the client information, and patient information, and automatically lock after 24 hours to ensure no changes can be made to original forms. You will have access to all X-rays, Lab reports, and another other documents and images you need, all in one area.
Never worry about running low on inventory again. With their inventory management system you are able to add, track, and manage prescriptions, medications, vaccines, nutritional goods and more. Most importantly, all of your invoicing and appointments are directly linked with your inventory numbers. Instead of deducting inventory items manually, one by one, it is all automated through the transaction screen. Medications and Vaccinations automatically add to invoices as you dispense and issue them so you can be assured your billing accurately without human intervention. They have pre-loaded over 2,000 inventory items, procedures, and vaccinations to help you get a head start. If you don’t see an item you’re looking for, or if you have a personalized inventory system, creating categories and items are simple, and takes seconds to set up.

Animal Control Services Systems Redesign

...ANIMAL CONTROL SERVICES SYSTEMS REDESIGN Governing the County of Fresno is a set of Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations. The purpose of these regulations serves to protect the safety, health, and welfare of the residents. Incorporated as a county within the State of California since 1856, Fresno has seen the establishment, modification, and abolishment of thousands of regulations. As every governmental body must have, the County of Fresno has established a governing Board as well as local departments that support the Board’s efforts to oversee the legislative and executive needs of the county. When situations arise, this governmental branch must take action to ensure laws are which protect its citizens, as well as enforce them appropriately. Such is the case in the recent system redesign of the Fresno County animal control program. Due to the recent contract termination of the longtime local vendor, the system redesign of the Fresno County animal control program will address state and local mandates more efficiently and save the county money. As a concern of public health and safety, animal control is a responsibility of the county requiring them to implement and manage a program. State law and county ordinance specifically require the reporting of all vicious animal complaints and bites, enforcement of a rabies quarantine program, establishment of a licensing program, and dead animal and stray pickup, including leash law enforcement. Since the 1950s...

Banning Animal Testing

...By scientist using animals, they aren't getting the most accurate outcome. We have other options to pick from such as human and computer models. The University of Oxford states in their article that they have other methods beside animals, and some of the other choices may be better than animals; Oxford says that “There are very many research methods that do not involve animals, all of them are used at the University of Oxford and many were formed here. These include research using humans; computer models and simulations; cell cultures and other in vitro work; statistical modelling; and large-scale epidemiology.(University of Oxford) this shows that during exams, animals are used when in reality we have other options that do not involve animals or killings. We could use computer models, or we could just use humans since that is why we are testing the products for and that would be a better...
