As I walk straight through the old rusted, stained door. I stand right in front of what looks like a large tower. I hear what sounds like a pack of wild dogs. When I walked around the wooden corner I only see three. One which has three brown spots, and the rest of its body is black. He looks at me like he wants me to walk the five steps over to him and take him out of the vets office. I look around the office and I see more and more pets screaming “ Help me, Help me”. They have those deep brown eyes that look deep into my soul. I listen to the vet's assistant come out of one of the squared exam rooms. She says “ Patches.”. He starts to walk and I can see why he came into the white building. He had a limp that made his whole back-end raise every time he used his right leg. I felt so sorry for him. I had one tear that felt like a gallon sized tear fall from my tear duct. The lady had white hair that looked like she had the worlds tightest curls, she looked like she has had better days the the day she brought her dog to the vets office. She walked into the squared exam room with her dog. I sit and wait for my dog’s name to be called, but the only thing I hear is a loud crying noise from the same exam room the lady with tight curls walked into. Five- minutes had passed and the lady walked out. Her nose was rosey red and she had looked like she was crying. She went to the counter and two people walked out with a brown cardboard box. The lady had to put her dog down. As soon as she saw the cardboard box she just broke down and started to fall to the floor ever so slowly. She looks at me and says “This was the last thing that I had of my husband.” I tell her that even though you don’t have them physical you still have them in your heart. She walks toward me and wraps her long wrinkled arms around me. She tells me that she is glad she brought her dog into the vets office, because she could not stand to see her dog suffer any longer. She told me that I reminded her of her husband. He loved to make people have a better day, he lived to help people, and he loved animals. I looked at her and asked how she knew that I loved animals. She said that sometimes God tells people things through what they do. I break down into a pool of tears.I tell her to excuse me. I turn around and start to cry because I have never been given that many compliments. She tells me in a voice that can only warm your heart. She ask me with her voice that sounds like it has been struck with sadness “ Why are you crying?”. I tell her that the only thing that makes me cry is when people give me good compliments. Nobody has ever given me a good compliment, I have only been told I can do better. I look into her eyes that look as if she had been crying for three hours, I tell her to look deep into her heart.
