There are many theories around the origin of the treasure in Victorio Peak in New Mexico. Some believe that it was the wealth collected by Spanish Missionaries from Mexico during the eighteenth-century. In November 1937, a man called Doc Noss accidentally discovered this treasure through a maze of tunnels. He obtained legal ownership of the land and is said to have removed around 200 gold bars from the mine. In search for more wealth, he attempted to widen the entrance with explosives but it resulted in the shaft collapsing making it impossible to reach the treasure.
