The founders here at Starbuck City believe it is time to introduce you to a new society. The founders feel as if the violence, and crime rate in the current society everyone lives in, the United States, has become outrageous. Not only is violence, and crime a problem, but sickness, homelessness, racial profiling, unemployment, bullying, drug use, weapon control, lack of academics, terrorism, women's rights, poverty, along with tons of other issues, are a massive complication. The present-day society has broken the trust of others by promising to provide a safe, equal, and comfortable environment. To then turn around, and not do what they had promised. The creators feel the need to form an ideal society to bring everyone, as well as everything, together as one. To provide a safe, equal, comfortable, and peaceful living area. The U.S. is untrustworthy, and unreliable. However, here at Starbuck City, the founders want to give everyone the feeling that they belong. This new society is different from the current one. Starbucks

...Starbucks Introduction and Operations 1 The first Starbucks opened in 1971 as a single store in Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market. It offered some of the world’s finest fresh-roasted whole bean coffees. The name Starbucks was inspired by Herman Melville2 Novel, Moby Dick, and evoked the seafaring tradition of the early coffee traders. In 1981, Howard Schultz (Starbucks chairman, president and chief executive officer) first walked into a Starbucks store. He was impressed by the drink and joined the company a year later. He travelled to Italy in 1983, and became captivated with Italian coffee bars and coffee experience. He planned to bring the Italian coffeehouse tradition back to the United States. From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. Starbucks has more than 15,000 stores in 50 countries and is the premier roaster and retailer of specialty coffee in the world with the mission to inspire and nurture the human spirit. Starbucks purchases and roasts high-quality whole bean coffees, has an inviting atmosphere and offers a selection of premium teas, fine pastries, sandwiches, salads and other treats. Starbucks entered the European market in May 1998 through its acquisition of 65 Seattle Coffee Company stores in the UK. Starbucks company-wide diversity strategy focuses on four areas: partners, customers, suppliers and communities...

Acme Corporation is getting orders and in turn rewards Frank for his successful sales. There is also a big downside for such an unethical behavior. First of all, company is opening its self up to potential law suits, negative publicity and negative consumer reacton. Chapter 2. 1. In my opinion, there is an ethical issue with employer asking an employee to ignore personal or religious convictions. On the other hand, if the game with nude contents is properly labeled and marketed, there should not be any legal issues. In similar case in New York City, judge sided with taxi drivers who objected to display of adult entertainment advertisements on their cars. 2. So vivid management class was all about bringing people together and work together to get the job done I just did not know how to bring them to one place work together. Coming from low masculinity highly collectivist country where things are yet in the process of growing people are taught that they must look after one another, guide the young once, remain with old family values and at the end of the day regardless of how a horrible day that you had, saw a young boy get hit by a car or you just came from your daughter’s wedding and she is expecting a baby. You have to share your news with the people that cares about you and they make sure you get the best treatment regardless when you get to the house at all time because they yet not know if you had good or bad news for them always making sure the napkin or the knife is there to cut the cake. Why the Decriminalization and Legalization of Cannabis Would Improve Canadian Society

...Why the Decriminalization and Legalization of Cannabis Would Improve Canadian Society Criminology 101 - Section 02 Nikaya Mirhadi-Pathon Capilano University Cannabis, the plant from which marijuana is derived, is the most widely used, produced and trafficked drug worldwide (Ducatti Flister, 2012). The decriminalization of marijuana has been a widely debated topic on a global scale as many advocate for it’s therapeutic purposes. In the city of Seattle, there are reportedly more medicinal marijuana dispensaries than Starbucks outlets. With the recent rise of dispensaries, two Washington University students are preparing to capitalize on this phenomenon by releasing an app for iPhones called Canary, billed as “Uber for marijuana” where an illegal delivery service can bring high-grade cannabis to your home within the hour (Altman, 2014). Governments world wide have invested copious amounts of money in fighting drug production and consumption, even though, the war on drugs has increased cannabis seizures, we see in countries like Canada, that regulated distribution of marijuana, has made it more readily available for both recreational and medicinal users (Ducatti Flister, 2012). Although, police within the Canadian jurisdiction are capable of pursuing criminal charges for cannabis possession for those who are distributing and consuming illegally, there is still a lack of consensus on the legal status of cannabis in Canada. Though the drug is illegal in Canada, with exceptions...

...Western Movie Graphics vs. Today’s Graphics Ashford University Vicky Roach Starbuck Social Problems SOC203 Instructor Gina Rollings April 4, 2011 Western movies have been around since the beginning of cinematic history in the US. They are no longer the most common nor the most popular movies presented to audiences. However, they still hold a special spot for those who love adventure and larger than life heroes. Stick around and learn more about the history of western movies and the producers and actors that have created them. Before western films became popular with movie going fans, western books and shows blazed the trail, whetting the appetite of millions for adventure. Although life in the early west was harsh, novels began proliferating in the 1860's which presented a more ideal or glamorized version of the experience. Real-life characters such as William F. Cody ("Buffalo Bill") and James Butler Hickok ("Wild Bill" Hickok) as well as a number of fictional characters were extremely popular. While many early western movies told moral tales of good triumphing over evil and men fighting for a righteous cause some were also comedies and others merely action packed showcases for their smart horses and talented "cowboy" actors. Films like "Custer’s Last Fight" in 1912, "On the Night Stage" in 1914, "Hell's Hinges" in 1916, and "Tumbleweeds" in 1925 were well received. Certainly films about the west have focused on cowboys, gunslingers,...

4 P's of Marketing for Starbucks

...Case 29 Starbucks’ Global Quest in 2006: Is the Best Yet to Come? Arthur A. Thompson The University of Alabama Amit J. Shah Frostburg State University Thomas F. Hawk Frostburg State University n early 2006, Howard Schultz, Starbucks’ founder, chairman of the board, and global strategist, could look with satisfaction on the company’s phenomenal growth and market success. Since 1987, Starbucks had transformed itself from a modest nine-store operation in the Pacific Northwest into a powerhouse multinational enterprise with 10,241 store locations, including some 2,900 stores in 30 foreign countries (see Exhibit 1). During Starbucks’ early years when coffee was a 50-cent morning habit at local diners and fast-food establishments, skeptics had ridiculed the notion of $3 coffee as a yuppie fad. But the popularity of Starbucks’ Italianstyle coffees, espresso beverages, teas, pastries, and confections had made Starbucks one of the great retailing stories of recent history and the world’s biggest specialty coffee chain. In 2003, Starbucks made the Fortune 500, prompting Schultz to remark, “It would be arrogant to sit here and say that 10 years ago we thought we would be on the Fortune 500. But we dreamed from day one and we dreamed big.”1 Having positioned Starbucks as the dominant retailer, roaster, and brand of specialty coffees and coffee drinks in North America and spawned the creation of the specialty coffee industry, management’s long-term objective was now to establish...
