A FORMAT of "Introducing yourself" by Tarequr Rahman Tareq
I've observed that most of the members are facing a common problem of preparing the answer to the question of HOW TO INTRODUCE YOURSELF in formal English. Thinking about this problem, I'm presenting a format of mine along with some necessary points. I believe this will help you prepare your own personal account. Introduce yourself: Points: 1. Name
2. Educational background (Mainly the recent degrees – dept., University, result/CGPA/positions etc)
3. Family background (number of family members, what do they do etc)
4. Home district & current place
5. Work experience (if have any) (workplace, duration etc)
6. Strength & skills
7. Weakness*
8. Working ethics*
9. Hobbies*
10. Career objective [You may skip 7,8,9 if you're ask to present your personal account very shortly] Sample: [1] It’s my pleasure to introduce myself in front of you. This is Md. Tarequr Rahman. [2] I’ve completed my honours and masters degree from the Department of English from Jahangirnagar University obtaining CGPA 3.54 (6th place) and 3.63 (5th place) respectively. [3] There are five members in my family. My father is an admin officer in BITAC (Bangladesh Industrial Technical Assistance Centre). My mother is a home-maker. My younger sister is still studying and my elder brother has completed his education. [4] My home district is Barguna but currently I’m living in Mirpur, Dhaka. [5] At present, I’ve been working as a lecturer in the Department of English in Dhaka Commerce College since November 2013. It’s a privatized self-financed organization. I also have experience in publication, call centre and counseling and I'm a phonetics expect. [6] Talking about my strengths and skills, I am innovative, hardworking and a quick learner. I can work under pressure. I’m a computer literate. I’m good in communication skill which enables me to convince people in my favour through logical argument and critical discussion. [7] I believe in working ethics. I maintain moral and social values to the organization I work for. [8] But I have a weakness as well. Although having good communication skill, sometimes I find difficulties in maintaining proper communication with my friends and relatives because when I'm in a particular work I become so absorbed in it that I forget the rest of the world. [9] My hobbies are watching movies, signing and listening songs , playing guitar, writing lyrics and writing term papers for literary publication. [10] I am searching for a position that offers the most rewarding atmosphere to bring out the best in me in order to utilize the full measure of my potentiality so as to render my best effort to the organization for growth and development and to contribute to the society as well. That’s all. [Collected.]

International Etiquette of Mexico

...History and Facts of Mexico Mexico is the third largest country in Latin America and now has the largest population of Spanish speakers in the world. Keep in mind, however, that Spanish was not always the primary language of the native people. Before the Spanish influence, many different native tribes inhabited the country; each of them speaking their own dialect. Some of the more popular dialects were the Mayan dialect and the Náhuatl dialect. The northern tribes, known to be the Chichimecs, were hunters and gatherers. They were small, more isolated groups who roamed the dryer lands of the deserts and steppes. The agricultural tribes inhabited other regions of the country and allowed larger populations in their surroundings. Included in these agricultural tribes were the Mayans of the Yucatan, Totonac, Huastec, Zapotecs, Tlaxcalans, Aztecs, and others tribes. These tribes developed civilizations with highly structured temples used for religion, sacrifices, commerce, and their form of government. The Aztecs even used a sort of tribute system to collect taxes and treasures from conquered tribes. The well known symbol of the Aztecs was an eagle with a snake in its beak resting on a cactus. This Aztec symbol has become the national symbol of Mexico. In 1519, the Spanish explorer Hernán Cortés, sailed along the eastern gulf coast and anchored off the island of San Juan de Ulúa. Over 500 Spanish soldiers stepped foot on the land, bringing with them a new animal species...

KAPLAN RICARDO REISEN DE PINHO Amanco: Developing the Sustainability Scorecard A modern company must have a much broader and more sophisticated relationship with society, and must respond to issues that didn’t exist previously… Our strategy is the best for the sustainable creation of value. — Stephan Schmidheiny, Grupo Nueva and Amanco’s founder1 On January 9, 2006, CEO Roberto Salas arrived at the new Amanco headquarters in São Paulo after a long and strenuous tour through the company’s key units in Latin America. Salas had conducted intense and productive discussions about how to strengthen and standardize Amanco’s Sustainability Scorecard system (SSC), for use in executing Amanco’s new strategy. Amanco was Latin America’s biggest producer and marketer of plastic pipes and fittings for transporting fluid. It had dominant positions in Colombia and Ecuador, and was a major competitor in Brazil and Mexico. Amanco had become a top brand while establishing a reputation as a leading company in corporate social responsibility. Smoozing

...Customized for: Isaac (illin@mednet.ucla.edu) THE INTRODUCTION Vault Guide to Schmoozing Customized for: Isaac (illin@mednet.ucla.edu) 2 © 2009 Vault.com, Inc. Introduction What does schmoozing sound like to you? Maybe it sounds smug, unctuous, oily, slimy. It sounds, quite frankly, like 'oozing.' Schmoozing is far from slimy, but 'oozing' actually isn’t a bad description of what a schmoozer does. A schmoozer slides into opportunities where none are apparent, developing friendships from the slightest of acquaintances. Through formless, oozy, schmoozy action, a schmoozer moves slowly but inexorably towards his or her goals. What is schmoozing? Schmoozing is noticing people, connecting with them, keeping in touch with them — and benefiting from relationships with them. Schmoozing is about connecting with people in a mutually productive and pleasurable way — a skill that has taken on new importance in our fragmented, harried, fiber-optic-laced world. Schmoozing is the development of a support system, a web of people you know who you can call, and who can call you, for your mutual benefit and enjoyment. Schmoozing is the art of semi-purposeful conversation: half chatter, half exploration. Schmoozing is neither project nor process. It's a way of life. How does schmoozing differ from networking? Conventional networking is the clammy science of collecting business cards ad infinitum, of cold-calling near strangers to grill them about possible openings in their places...

Hacking Tips

...Hacking Vol. 2 Number 1 Internet for Dummies -- skip this if you are a Unix wizard. But if you read on you’ll get some more kewl hacking instructions. ____________________________________________________________ The six Guides to (mostly) Harmless Hacking of Vol. 1 jumped immediately into how-to hacking tricks. But if you are like me, all those details of probing ports and playing with hypotheses and pinging down hosts gets a little dizzying. So how about catching our breath, standing back and reviewing what the heck it is that we are playing with? Once we get the basics under control, we then can move on to serious hacking. Also, I have been wrestling with my conscience over whether to start giving you step-by-step instructions on how to gain root access to other peoples’ computers. The little angel on my right shoulder whispers, “Gaining root without permission on other people’s computers is not nice. So don’t tell people how to do it.” The little devil on my left shoulder says, “Carolyn, all these hackers think you don’t know nothin’! PROOVE to them you know how to crack!” The little angel says, “If anyone reading Guide to (mostly) Harmless Hacking tries out this trick, you might get in trouble with the law for conspiracy to damage other peoples’ computers.” The little devil says, “But, Carolyn, tell people how to crack into root and they will think you are KEWL!” So here’s the deal. In this and the next few issues of Guide to (mostly) Harmless Hacking I’ll tell...

Cold Steel Britain’s Richest Man and the Multi-Billion-Dollar Battle for a Global Empire Tim Bouquet and Byron Ousey Cold Steel is the fast-paced and compelling account of the biggest and most hard-fought corporate takeover of recent years. It brings to life the cut and thrust of big business at war and gives an insight into the life of Lakshmi Mittal, the man at the top of the UK’s rich list. In 2006, the world’s two largest steel producers, Mittal and Arcelor, went head to head in a bitter struggle for market domination, an epic corporate battle that sent shockwaves through the political corridors of Europe, excited the world’s financial markets and transformed the steel industry. At the heart of the story are two men dubbed the Stallions of Steel. Lakshmi Mittal is a self-made industrialist, born in Sadulpur, an insignificant town in Rajasthan, north-west India, and only three decades ago was paying himself a mere $250...
