The Mystical Wonders of W. B. Yeats

William Butler Yeats was born on June 13, 1865 and died on January 28, 1939, but what he left in his place will carry out forever. William was an Irish poet would had a strong belief in his culture and background. He valued many aspects in life such as his family, his roots and his beliefs. All of his beliefs in irish folklore are what inspired him to make his meaningful poetry.

When Yeats was very young, around 2, he moved from his home in Ireland to London. Some would question that this may cause him to lose faith in his own culture, but in fact it made it stronger. His mother always told him traditional Irish folklore when he go to bed and sing him songs of mythical creatures. Although his mother was very influential his father was the opposite. “His dad was a religious skeptic and his grandfather was strictly Orthodox Rector in the Church of England” according to “Biography of William Butler Yeats” (Golden-Dawn. To do this he joined a secret society called the Golden Dawn. In the group there was ten main groups or levels. The top three are unreachable unless you actually master the magic and chants that go on. W hile in the group Yeats practiced ritual magic, After being in that same club for two years Yeats decided that he wanted to do something with more results because Golden Dawn had nothing but failures at the magic they tried..
