Walter Dean Myers has gained much work from working with his son Christopher. First, in my opinion feel that that this statement is true because in the story The Myers’ Family it shows that Christopher and Walter Dean Myers would go read comics and Reader’s Digest. Also, in the story it states that when Walter would be write like ten pages a day, so when he would be done he would make Christopher read it. Last, and most important fact of all I think that if Christopher hadn’t drawn pictures Walter Dean Myers would have to find an illustrator for his books. It says in the text that when Walter Dean Myers would read comics and then Reader’s Digest because they both loved jokes. Then, in the story The Myers’ Family Christopher says that his father would write ten pages a day, and when he would write them he would make Christopher read it aloud. He would make Christopher read it so then his family could discuss it with him. The text states “ Christopher remembers: ‘ My father wrote ten pages a day. When he was done, he would come down and have me read it out loud so that my mother and he could talk about it. If Christopher hadn’t read out the pages that his dad wrote every day, so Walter and his wife could discuss about it. From these conversations Walter Dean Myers may haven’t gotten some ideas for his books. As you can see, from these conversations Walter Dean Myers has once again gained more work from the help of his son. Last, and most importantly Christopher went on to be his dad’s illustrator. From this action Walter Dean Myers or Christopher’s dad has gained so much more work than any of the other actions that Christopher might’ve done in the past.
