In terms of movies, I prefer to watching them at home rather than watching them in theaters. There are three reasons for why I prefer watching movies at home.
First of all, living far away from theaters makes me like watching movies at home. I should spend at least one hour taking bus to the nearest theater, and the time spending on the runway will be equal to a two-hour long movie. That is to say, if I choose to watch movie at home, I could watch another two-hour movie in the same four hours.
Secondly, several movie websites give me more choices. Take one for example, I like watching movies on Netflix, a famous movie website. There are a large amount of movies on this website I can choose to watch if I pay $7.99 a month. On the other hand, the cost I spend online is cheaper than what I spend in theaters. I can watch more movies with less cost.
Additionally, I have more freedom when watching movies at home. It is not hard to stop the movies whenever I want to get some snacks or I want to go to restroom, and I will never afraid of missing some essential plots. Furthermore, watching movies at home allows me to have bigger and more comfortable space during movie time. I really feel freer when watching movies at home.
All in all, watching movies at home is really a better choice than watching movies in theaters since it can give me more time, more choices and more freedom. It may become a trend in future, especially among young

Benefits of Viewing Movies at Home

...Ashley Bujanowski Professor Farve English 68 11/5/2012 Illustration Essay Benefits of Viewing Movies At Home Throughout generations, watching movies has been one of the most popular forms of entertainment. Motion pictures were originally developed as a carnival novelty and have developed to one of the most important tools of communication and entertainment. Most films before 1930 were silent. During the 1940’s, there was a desire for wartime propaganda in the film industry with realistic war dramas. The 1960’s brought an increasing awareness of foreign language cinema in America. During the 1970’s, audiences saw a dramatic increase in the popularity of martial arts films. The early 1990s saw the development of a commercially successful independent cinema in the United States. In general, motion picture films have substantially affected the arts and technology. So as the years have progressed, watching movies at home has become an attractive activity to for many people. Many people find that watching movies enrich their leisure time and allow them to escape reality. There are three advantages to watching movies at home: convenience, inexpensiveness, and control. An advantage to viewing movies at home is the convenience of personal food options. Being at home allows the viewer to choose whether he wants to cook his own meal or order in. The viewer is also able to buy his own movie snacks. He can consume unlimited amounts of popcorn, candy, and soda of he chooses to; he...

Home Viewing Versus Theater Viewing

...44380 June 26, 2013 Rewrite Watching a movie at home and watching it in a theater Watching a movie at home or watching a movie in a theater, which one do you prefer? This answer could vary, depending on who you ask. It could depend on the amenities that a person has in their home, such as a home theater system. It could also depend on if a person is a home body, or if the person is someone who likes to go out for social interaction. Then it becomes home viewing versus theater viewing. Regardless on the person you ask there are definitely similarities and differences which will be covered in this paper. Watching movies at home has come a long way over the past few years. With technology increasing and prices decreasing on high definition televisions, projectors, and surround sound stereo systems home theaters are becoming more popular. With home theaters you have the convenience of viewing a movie at home with the same viewing experience as you would in the theater. When viewing at home you are able to watch movies at your convenience, while being able to pause, fast forward, rewind, a convenience you would not have if viewing a movie in a theater. Also viewing a movie at home you have the comfort of lying in bed, relaxing on a sofa, and eating whatever you like. Whereas when viewing a movie at the theater you have whatever amenities they provide. Another convenience of home viewing is the aspect of cost, when viewing a movie at home there is little to no cost for the...

Going to a Movie Versus Watching a Movie at Home

...Going To a Movie versus Watching a Movie At Home Movies have been an important part in people’s daily life, and people have alternative ways to watch movies. The purpose of this essay is to compare watching movies in cinemas with seeing films at home and discuss both some of the advantages and shortcomings of each. The three main points to be involved are effect, price and objective. The most notable difference between these two ways of watching movies is the effect. In a cinema, the effects are far more electrifying than seeing a film at home. For example, the acoustics at home might not be as stereoscopic as in a theater. Another difference between these two approaches to movies is the price. Home cinema is much cheaper and even free, decided by what type of movie you are watching. Conversely, going to a theater varies greatly in price, depending on which cinema you choose and whether you are students. Either way, enjoying a movie at home, generally as a rule, is cheaper than in a cinema. Some people believe that go to a movie is a more fantastic entertainment to build up relationships with friends and families. While this might sometimes be true, one’s financial capability and time flexibility must be taken into consideration. If a family has financial difficulties, sitting together and watching a movie on TV can also be entertaining and promote relationships. When all is said and done, it comes down to personal choice, based on one’s effect of pursuit, budget and purpose...

Comparison Paper

...Trevor Swenson Professor Jones College Composition 29, March 2012 Movie Comparison Watching movies at home or at a movie theater is a great way to have fun in so many different ways. Both options provide unique atmospheres but only one option can be truly more comfortable to watch. Keeping in mind all of the various factors; late night movie premiers versus staying comfortably at home, having a quite peaceful movie experience without interruptions versus the talkative social atmosphere of a indoor theater, or even enhancing the movie experience with expensive IMAX/ 3D that most standard television sets don’t provide. All these factors are important when deciding on how and where an individual may watch their next motion picture. Trying to weigh out the positives and negatives of watching movies at home compared to going to your local movie theater just became simple. All of us can relate to that exciting feeling as the hours countdown to a midnight showing of movie. It can be a real treat, but is it really that big of a blockbuster of a movie to be the first one to see it? Midnight showings usually play around twelve o’clock in the middle of the night. These hours are late and can interfere with work or school the next morning. Instead of trying to buy the last remaining tickets for a midnight showing, it would be much easier to watch a movie at home comfortably on your couch or even on your bed. According to Engadget.com, “sometimes the hype of a movie commercial and...

The Movie Experience

...The Movie Experience Word Count: 601 Movies should be treated as a luxury commodity, meant to invoke feelings and thoughts that otherwise would have been left dormant and untouched. From comedies that bring you joy to sci-fi thrillers that keep you up at night, movies obtain their value by how successful they can engage their audience. While much of this is dependent upon the movie itself, where you experience it can play a vital role in your idea of its success. Comfort and affordability underscore the movie-at-home scenario, but these things do little to enhance the primary purpose of the movie. Where that sense of feeling and connection to the movie are important to the person watching it, the movie theater will always offer the most superior experience. A substantial difference between watching a movie at home and in the theater is the environment itself. When you're at home, you're surrounded by familiarity and distraction. You give yourself permission to be interrupted by normal day-to-day activities, such as the dog or your cellphone. In the theater, you don't allow yourself such freedoms. Though you're also provided more control over your environment when you're at home, there is something captivating about being in the movie theater. It is difficult to reproduce the audiovisual characteristics of a theater. Movie theaters, by definition, place all of their emphasis on the movie experience as a whole, and thus do well to exemplify the movie with excellent accoustics...

People living in the old times find pleasure through reading books, watching plays and musicals. Netflix For the “at home” or the “on the go” movie lover, Netflix is a great app. You can download it on your mobile device, pc, and gaming console. It uses one account for multiple devices. The best thing for me is that your spouse and child can have their own profile. Netflix has been around for a long time and it is still running strong even though the competition is steadily increasing. Netflix allows the customer to set up one account with multiple profiles, for multiple devices at one low price.
