...INTRODUCTION TO FINANCE SAMPLE CASH FLOW TEMPLATE* * The attached template has been prepared so that you may feel comfortable preparing spreadsheet models. Recall in class I emphasized the cash flows for a typical year, and then years 0 and the final year of your analysis. The attached provides you a complete example and a template that executes the analysis. We have not given you the spreadsheet, but an image of it with detailed notes, because we want you to recreate a spreadsheet yourself. Doing so before executing the analsysis in some of the questions on the Assignments will hopefully be helpful. Sample Cash Flow Template Maize Medical Supply (MMS) is a leader in the production and sales of X‐ray machines. This past year, MMS posted $35 million (M) in revenue with a cost of goods sold of $22M and SG&A expenses of $2M. They are projecting a growth of these numbers of 8%, 6%, and 2%, respectively, over the next 5 years. When considering their short term assets and obligations, MMS has $4M in accounts receivable, $3M in accounts payable and $5 of inventory. The company's revenue growth will be largely driven by spending $20M today on an equipment upgrade, which will also lead to a $2M increase in accounts receivable next year. The expenditure for the equipment upgrade can be depreciated using the straight line method over the next 5 years. MMS faces a 35% tax rate, a 14% discount rate and they are projected to be worth $30M at the end of our valuation horizon of 5 years...

...Worlds Collide: The WC and Ms. Davis’ Comp II Class On May 29th I had the pleasure of visiting Ms. Lindsey Davis’ Composition II class to introduce our new Writing Center on South Campus (lovingly referred to as The WC by us tutors). New to the TCC community, I was thrilled to see the professional yet friendly environment she created in her classroom. As I lingered anxiously outside the door, I was put at ease as Ms. Davis joked good-naturedly with her students about course content. And that’s when I wanted to make a grand entrance like a hyped-up-five-year-old complete with cartwheels – POETRY! How could she have known? So my formal WC presentation turned into a genuine moment of connection between myself, Ms. Davis, and her clever, funny and engaging students. I am a voracious reader of poetry in all its contemporary forms, including all things hip-hop (and, yes, rap is poetry people)! I cannot wait to read their papers and get to know them better as they write for Ms. Davis. I left feeling energized about my role as tutor largely because of the positive environment they all had created. Good information, poetry and laughter. What a way to start the day! Even more exciting, as I wandered around campus after, her students recognized me and called me by name – awesome sauce – and brought up some good questions I can better answer now: Can you help me with my grammar? Funny you should ask! We will have our first annual Proofreading Workshop on June 18th at 1:30 p.m. in SBUS 2116...

...beliefs of the individual. (WC:55) Part II The Question of Origin – (How did life begin? How did mankind come into existence?) The Christian worldview about the origin life and how we all came about is that it all began with the hand of God. This worldview comes from the given facts from within the Bible. In fact, the first chapter of the Bible (New King James Version, Genesis: 1) is where the origin of mankind begins. It is said many times throughout the Bible that God says it is he who created the heavens and the earth and placed mankind into existence (New King James Version, Isaiah 45:12).Our origin of life and existence is given to us all throughout the word of God. The Question of Identity – (What does it mean to be human? Are humans more important than animals?) God created man through his own image and with his own hands (New King James Version, Genesis 1:26-27). God specifically intends for mankind to be different from any other living creation. In His word we read that man is to rule over all the birds, fish and any other creature moving on the earth. It was intended by the Holy Spirit that mankind be a superior species to all other living creatures (New King James Version, Genesis 2:15). It is also said in the Bible that God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed life into the nostrils of a man so that he could become a living creature, a creature to serve him (New King James Version, Genesis 2:7). The Question of Meaning/Purpose – (Why does...

...senior manager. In 2004 R with his colleague decided to leave “Senukai” and launched a subsidiary of “Krasas” in Kaunas. It was financed from “Krasas” headquarter in Vilnius (capital city of LT). In autumn 2010 R decided to leave it because different business vision. In 21/10/2010 he started its own business (heating, sanitary goods) and opened a retail store in Kaunas. Story begins here… He started his business with a business partner (BP). They chose Private Limited Company over an Individual Enterprise to limit their private responsibility. Business was financed from private savings, since the amount for start up is not huge. Initial amount to start business in Lithuania is 10.000 Lt (1 euro = 3.4528 Lt; rate is fixed), so they contributed as follow: 2/3 amount pays R (principal shareholder) and 1/3 his business partner. Another reason to start business together was his BP thorough knowledge in sanitary goods (bathroom, kitchen ceramic – faucets, sinks, bathtubs, showers, toilets etc.). Two themes - heating systems and kitchen/bathroom ceramic is closely related together as individual installing heating system in his property usually buys ceramic as well. They decided to rent a commercial space for their retail store in one of the main streets of the city with very intense traffic. Moreover, the shop was established in a...

...the same time, non-modified texts are often challenging for language learners. Nevertheless, Nation and Hirsch (1992) found that a minimum vocabulary of 5000 headwords was needed to understand texts and 9000 headwords to read for pleasure. In many countries, both in Europe and elsewhere, the Common European Framework Reference for Language (CEFR) is used to determine language ability. This framework focuses on skills-based criteria and divides language ability into Beginners (A), Intermediate (B), and Advanced (C). Within each group there are levels 1`and 2. Milton (2010) found that the learned vocabulary did increase as a language student moved up the levels, however he also found that depending on the language the vocabulary knowledge was different for each group and level. The most interesting finding was that regardless of the language the vocabulary coverage within a text was similar at each group and level. Table 1. Descriptors for levels A1 and B1 form the Council of Europe (Milton 2010) Text coverage is the percentage of a text that a given number of words will cover. If a language learner has a vocabulary of 5000 words, what percent of a text will be known words? This is again important as a second language learner progresses, as the percentage of unknown words begins to shrink the “i + l” may not be maintained. An advanced student with a vocabulary of 5000 headwords will know between 96 -97% of spoken words regardless of the context (Adolphs & Schmitt 2004)...

It happens due to the decrease in the duration of higher inventory turnover and customer revenues than during the rotation of payments to suppliers. However, it is observed that in the last quarter growth cycle occurs from 100.31 to 156.13 cash days due to increasing IP and ACP and because of remaining approximately constant value of APP. This means that during the time of payment of cashing supply to the increased sales. So now need to attract resources for operational cycle for a longer period. Also it can be seen that during the collection of clients is larger than the period of payment of suppliers (78.04> 23.82). This is not good because normally these two durations should be close in value, and ideally during payment providers should be higher than during the collection of customers. The low level of cash cycle in the second and third quarter can be explained by the fact that...
