Romantic comedies are considered to be the least flexible of all the genres of film. There are a number of reasons that have been identified as reasons that this genre is lacking. The plot of a romantic comedy involves romance that leads to comic situations. In recent years the film genre has been identified genericly with a female protagonist finding love against all odds with a course of unconventional comic situations along the way. There can also be a variation of the basic plotline, instead of the typical romance where the two lead characters end up falling in love there could be a mismatch in love affair with the primary character and a secondary character.
