How does e-mail benefit an organization? Why might an organization want to limit how an employee uses e-mail during work hours? What is an e-mail’s path once it leaves an organization?
Since email first emerged as a business tool, companies have increased productivity, decreased costs and found new marketing venues. Executives are able to receive almost real-time status updates and can therefore make well-informed decisions. Email can also be used to rapidly disseminate information to multiple employees at the same time. An organization might want to limit how an employees use email during work hours to prevent lawsuits from someone outside the company and by not using emailing for personal use during business hours would bring up better productivity from the. An emails path, after it leaves an organization, is usually meant to go to a certain person or persons, but can end up spread throughout the internet by hackers. A benefit of instant messaging is that a notice can be sent immediately but has a drawback in that it is not very professional.

What is the effect of instant messaging on organizational networks? What are benefits and drawbacks of using instant messaging in an organization?
A benefit of instant messaging is that a notice can be sent immediately but has a drawback in that it is not very professional. The benefits of web pages and search engines are that an organization can put research into projects, create revenue with their own web page as an advertisement adding detail about the organization. On the other hand a drawback would be that employees have access to misuse these search engines and web pages.
