Internet Privacy

When it comes to the privacy issues of the internet, I expect to have privacy and security. This is not possible in some instances though. When I use the internet in a public place such as the library, I know that there are many users on there and others may see what I do. This goes along with work as well. They have a secure web but can monitor your usage of the internet therefore seeing anything that you are doing on their internet. Others may not know your security settings for a specific site but it can be saved on a proxy or cookie in the computer. I know that when accessing the web I take my chances even when using it at home, as others can figure out how to sign in on my Wi-Fi. For example, I remember in school when using the computer lab all computers were connected together using the web and you could open a document from any computer using a user name and password. All the documents and usage were saved on a main computer, which was the teacher’s computer.

When it comes to being at home and using a Wi-Fi connection, you should have your own connection. It is not legal to use anyone else’s connection unless you have permission from that person to use it. If you see an unsecure network, it is not ethical to use unless you have permission but at the same time, you are able to connect without a pass code. You information and anything you do can be seen by the one who whose connection it is or any other person using that Wireless network connection. Keep in mind that when using others connection without permission is un ethical but can be done as people do it this day in age.

Nt1235 Assignment Week 1 Selecting a Windows 7 Edition

...Selecting a Windows 7 Edition As a computer consultant working with a new client I would 1st want to look at the hardware and the specs of the workstations and server in particular. In this scenario we have 8 workstations, 3 in a Warehouse across town and 5 in the office with the Server running Windows Server 2003. Choosing the proper version of windows upgrading them properly will solve some of the client’s slow connectivity problems without losing any data in the process. Each workstation has a 1GB of Memory and 1.8GHz Processor, which means that we must choose a 32-bit version of Windows based on the system requirements alone. These workstations do not have enough system memory in order to run the 64- bit version. While there are 6 different versions of Window 7, Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 Enterprise would be the best choice for my clients in this case. The 5 Workstations that are housed at the main office mainly run office programs and don’t take on a lot of the heavy lifting but having a few extra features like AD DS Domain support, offline files, encryption and network based backups can make things easier to organize and keep secure. The utilization of Offline Files will really take a lot of load off the server by allowing the users to save their work directly on the workstations allowing access to those files when the server is down or to just reduce traffic when it’s being used most. The Encryption features and AD DS Domain support allow users to...

...1. Do you believe that people have an unconscious mind? If so, how does it affect thoughts, feelings, and behavior? I do believe that people have an unconscious mind. If we didn’t then in that state of mind when people are unconscious they would not be able to breath or their heart would fail. 2. Have you ever changed a strongly held attitude? What caused the change for you? For a long time I used to be very selfish. Reason being growing up I use to see people being taken advantage of and never wanted to be put in that position. The thing that changed this was the fact that I got older and much wiser and realized that I could not be like this for the rest of my life. My mother also sat me down and spoke to me about having that king of attitude. So the cause for me changing my ways was maturity and also influence from someone I look up to. 3. Do you believe that you are free of prejudice? After reading this chapter, which of the many factors that cause prejudice do you think is most important to change? Yes I do believe I am free of prejudice. I believe that implicit bias is the most important cause of prejudice in most people the book describes implicit bias under the category of a mental shortcut. If implicit bias is the sum of generations of stereotypes, and learned behavior, than it must be the most important factor. 4. ...Ethical Issue and Management XMGT/216 Managers are generally responsible for staffing employees, ensuring that the employees get proper training and providing leadership to those employees as well. Managers are faced with ethical issues on a daily basis, whether it is with employees or the decisions they have to make. In my experience as a manager I have had to make tough decisions regarding attendance, and disciplinary action. As a manager, I have to base my decisions on what is right. Often there are employees that come to work late, or may not perform as they should. It is my job to document these things as well as take corrective action. Although there are times when circumstances prevent employees from coming to work on time, I have to do what is right and document every occurrence. I stay away from making exceptions because if you do it for one employee then you should do it for every employee. As a manager I have an ethical responsibility when it comes to interviewing and hiring to fill business needs. It is important that every potential employee is given the same opportunity, and that decisions are not made based on race, religion, or sex. This is an extremely difficult aspect of management, because it requires you to be careful. There has been several times where I have interviewed two candidates with equal qualifications but of different races. Instead of making the decision alone, I generally get a peer’s opinion so that I don’t seem like I am favoring...

Week 7 Homework

...ACCT553 Week 7 Homework Chapters 10-11-12 1. Please explain the distinction between a "realized" gain and a "recognized" gain. (5 pts) A realized gain is the excess of the amount realized on a sale or exchange over the basis of the property sold or exchanged. The recognized gain is the amount of the realized gain that will be treated as income and subject to tax on the seller’s income tax return. 2. Are there any limits to the deductibility of losses on sales and exchanges between related parties? What code section defines this limitation? (5 pts.) No loss deduction is allowed on sales or exchanges of property, directly or indirectly between certain related parties. This can be found under Code Section 267. 3. What is the basis of property received (i.e. new property) in a like-kind exchange? What is the holding period for the new asset? (5 pts.) To figure out the basis of the new property, start with the fair market value of the like-kind property received. Any deferred gain is subtracted and deferred losses are added. This gives the basis of the acquired property. The holding period for property acquired in a nontaxable exchange includes the holding period of the property given in exchange if the property was a capital asset or property used in a taxpayer’s trade or business. 4. David purchased stock in Zoll Corporation in 1985 for $6,000. On April 16, 2013 he gifted the stock to his daughter Susan; at the time of the gift, the Zoll stock was valued...

Netw420 Week 7

...Walter White Blank University NETW420 Professor Teague Week 7 paper 4/22/13 There are many metrics used in network management that can be broke down into three sections including classic, cost, and revenue for short. The classic metrics consist of availability which is the percentage of time during which a service is functioning properly. Availability is broken into two aspects, as a whole and availability that factors maintenance, where maintenance is more effective because it only captures unavailability caused by a negative surprise. MTBF or Mean Time Between Failures is a measure of reliability its job is to give an indication of how often a service or device becomes unavailable, but not so much the length of the outage. MTTR also known as Mean Time To Repair provides the length of time it takes for services that are impacted by failures to be restored. Total cost of operations can be normalized over a different group of metrics, such as, the number of devices and the operational cost per device. Devices and differ in nature and scale so this metric is not always meaningful unless dealing with homogeneous environments. The number of ports is another metric that provides a more level playing field and allows operational cost to be compared across different types of equipment. An example of number of service instances could be the operational cost per voice extension. The number of end users would be the operational cost per employee in an enterprise. There are...

Hum130 Week 7

...Week 7 Assignment: Christianity, History and Practice your name here HUM/130 2/12/02 Terry Barnes Sources: www.biography.com/people/jesus-christ-9354382 www.theopedia.com/Church_history our textbook Jesus Christ has many great stories behind him. These stories are called miracles, depending on who you ask. Yet, one thing cannot be denied, and that is that Jesus Christ did exist and his influence is still felt by the Catholic faith. Jesus Christ was born in approximately 6 AD in Bethlehem, from his parents Mary and Joseph. Yet, according to the faith, his actual father is God. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, as Mary was a virgin. Joseph, his legal father, was a carpenter who made furniture with his hands. Jesus would also become a carpenter later on in his life. Some of these points are argued between religions, yet I am not going to touch on it in this paper. His childhood is shrouded in mystery, as there are little to no records of his life during his childhood and early teenage years. Many argued that he did not initially except his role or fate as God’s only son and lived a life like any other would at the time. You can even look in the Bible for such a hypothesis, as the stories of his life suddenly jump from age 16 to age 30. Where are the missing texts that chronicle his life during these missing fourteen years? This is what many claim that he rejected his “destiny” or found it all too big to cope with. Later...

Physiology Week 7

...Physiology Assignment week 7 Debbie Hobbs SCI 230 January 11, 2013 Fish have a very unique anatomy and physiology so that they can thrive in underwater environments. Fish have a closed circulatory system, in a fish blood flows from the heart, to the gills, to the body and back. Gills are comparable to the lungs of humans but the way they take in oxygen is very different. Water flows over the gills and the gills absorb dissolved oxygen. Fish sense their environment in a number of different ways that are unlike humans. Some fish can smell their environment through their skin in addition to using their nares. Additionally fish can sense electric fields and their environment using a structure called a lateral line. These structures are unique to fish and allow them to perceive their environment and live successfully. Fish maintain their buoyancy through an anatomical structure called a swim bladder. This is like a built in float that can inflate and deflate to help achieve neutral buoyancy at different depths. Some fish have swim bladders; while others that dwell on the bottom of the sea floor, which do not move up and down the water, do not have a swim bladder. The swim bladder also helps the fish to produce sounds. These sounds can be warning and mating signals to other fish. To help fish swim they have a number of fins (dorsal, ventral, pelvic, anal and caudal) and these fins could be rayed or composed of adipose tissue. Some fish have fins that can retract to help reduce...
