The economic system that is best suited for handling a crisis of epic proportions, and tragic aftermaths would be I believe a Socialism system. The reasoning I have behind this system is that a socialist system has emergency management systems in place as quickly as the disaster happen. Take FEMA and The Red Cross for examples these companies have quickly taken charge and set up areas in disaster locations to distribute medical needs, food, water, and many other necessities as needed. These groups also establish areas of shelter and safety for many people who otherwise have no other place to be. If our system wasn’t a socialism system then would we have all of the resources available to us as needed? The emergency responders are all paid by the government, which I believe has a lot to do with how much help is truly available when needed. If we didn’t have the economic system in place that we have would these individuals be willing to risk everything to help in a disaster area? Would we have the resources available to offer the necessities that people in the disaster need? I don’t believe so, that is why I believe the socialism system is the best in this case. I think the socialist system would be the best for emergency circumstances much like the earthquake of Haiti in 2010. Here again we have the government that sends out the help of FEMA so that the individuals affected in Haiti have a way to gain access to the everyday necessities of food, water. Etc. There are multiple people that are sent out to help rebuild in areas of natural disasters much like Haiti and other areas. There are no direct charges generated to the individuals in the socialism system all these groups including the ones rebuilding and cleaning up the mass destruction mess left behind by the disaster are covered by the government, in the time of need.
There are many reasons that the cost to heat a residential and commercial property rise in the winter. Most times if you heat your home with electricity much like you cool your home then the price isn’t as intolerable as it is if you are using the supply of natural gas. According to PSNC Energy “The price of natural gas, whether high or low, is impacted by market conditions occurring on a national level. That's because natural gas is a commodity. Its price goes up and down according to supply and demand across North America.” (energy2014) In my own home my natural gas bill stays fairly low in the summer or warmer months. More than likely that is because the demand of natural gas is low considering everyone is cooling their homes or business with electricity. Although I have primary gas in my home with the exception of basic electricity and our ac unit my cost still is fairly low. However in the Winter months my gas price more than doubles due to the higher increase of people using gas. Most everyone uses natural gas to heat their homes in this area. In the laws of supply and demand the greater demand there is for something the higher the cost to supply that said item.
