...Week 5 Learning Team Reflection Summary - Team B BIS/220 Monday November 25, 2013 Week 5 Learning Team Reflection Summary - Team B Introduction Personal Life In week four of our text, we discuss the procedures in which traditional systems development life cycle can be implemented in an organization. The SDLC has six processes in which information system is process: systems investigation, system analysis, systems design, programming and testing, implementation, and operation and maintenance. These six processes are important for organizations to use when deciding on an information system; however, these processes are not only for organization, but also for personal use as well. When deciding whether to get a new operation system for a personal computer, you can have some of the same challenges. Consumers have to decide what kind of budget they have, what will the system do for them, and will the system last for a long time before having to get another system. As a personal user operation systems will be outsources, but you would still want to use the investigation and analysis process to see if the quality of the system will fit your needs. For personal use, system design and how the system looks is an important feature, such as colorful feature and users-friendly tools. During this process we can create the backgrounds for our system making is a customized system for our use. When getting the system, the user will want to install and test the product to make sure...

...Reflection Summary Team “A” MGT 230: Management Theory and Practice October 27, 2012 Shannon Thomas Reflection Summary There was much that our team learned from the material assigned last week; for example, to every successful organization there are four essential functions of management. Prior to this course and week one, we had some knowledge of what made a company work; leadership, organization, and planning are all necessary for the success of any company or organization. However, we had little or no knowledge about the controlling function. It is our understanding that controlling is both essential as well as beneficial to the performance of any organization. Controlling allows a company to maximize its resources and increases efficiency. It is very important to any company; in fact, the controlling function is so vital that it could determine the reputation of a company both in a good and bad manner. The elements which compose the internal factors of a company include, personnel, structure of management, and departments within an organization. On the other hand, just as important as internal factors, an example of external factors would be the environment surrounding the location of any company. This is important because it dictates the customers they may be serving, the community where the majority of their business is conducted, and other possible relationships they may have with other businesses. In order for managers to succeed it is necessary they...

...Week Six Team A Reflection Elvareen Mukhim, Keri Steward, Mallory Herring, Rebecca Blackburn, Rickie Clark, Shawnta Shorts, and Kalyn Shenefelt HRM/531-Human Capital Management December 10, 2012 Instructor; Ginny McMinn Week six Team A Reflection This week brought discussion about diversity in the work place, and how managers get educated about diversity and how to handle a diverse work place. There are many cultures, skill sets, and different personalities in a work place and it is important to be respectful and not discriminate. The work force continues to grow and become more and more diverse so managers must adapt and educate their staff on how to manager such a diverse work place. There can be miscommunication and conflict and that should always be mediated and handled appropriately. Some team members had a harder time than others but overall everyone under stood what a managers have to do so they can ensure the managers are educated in cultural, religious, sex, and disability rights. Further, the have to practice diversity in order for it to work. Strengths This objective was comfortable for each team member to embrace diversity and truly appreciate it. ...Reflection Summary BIS 220 Members from Team C reflected on the materials covered during week four discussions. The team members posted their thoughts and reflection on our team forum, stating their opinions related to the systems development life cycle and presentation tools to communicate business objectives. All members concluded that SDLC is system framework system which organizations use for large scale IT projects. This allows for six sequenced processes to occur in order for an effective IT operation. Six process all serve a separate purpose but all go together for the benefit of the project. The six processes are system investigation which is the investigation phase that determines potential problems. The system investigation includes the system analysis, systems designs, programming and testing, implementation, operation, and maintenance. System analysis analyzes how the problem will be solved. System design gives measures of the system and how it works and how to fix potential problems. Programming and testing is programming that allows for the design to be programmed into computer code and testing will test to ensure it does what it is suppose to do. Implementation converts the old system into the new one. Operation and maintenance runs the operation and does preventive maintenance to ensure everything runs smoothly. The team also discussed the use of presentation tools. Presentation tools can include different things such as spreadsheets, PowerPoint, word...

...Team B Week Two Reflection MKT/421 June 20, 2013 Donna Falloon Team B discussed week’s two objectives thoroughly, the objective that Team B related to the most was market segmentation and the various criteria that impacts market selection. Creating a consumer driven marketing strategy is imperative for companies inspiring to be or are successful. “Companies today recognize that they cannot appeal to all buyers in the marketplace or at least not to all buyers in the same way (Armstrong & Kotler, 2011, p. 174).” Consumers vary in age, location, income, nationality, social class, gender, family size, education, religion, and many more variables. Thus companies are straying from mass marketing and focusing more on target marketing (2011). Market targeting is the process of evaluating each market segment’s attractiveness and selecting one or more segments to enter (2011). It is a critical piece that aids with the segmentation, differentiation, and positioning of the consumer driven marketing strategy. Each member of team b reflected on their personal experiences of market targeting. For example, two team members are mother’s, although the ages of their children vary, each mother at one point was targeted with the age and life-cycle stage from a company like Toys “R” Us. Some companies use the age and life-cycle segmentation, since consumers needs drastically change with age. For Example, Toys “R” Us primarily target babies to teenagers, most likely an adult will not...
