Compose a 200- to 300-word response to the following: The Community Services Code of Ethics in Appendix A of Ethical Leadership in Human Services states, “Whatever your personal feelings about the justice and appropriateness of particular laws, all board members, staff, and volunteers are to obey all laws in the performance of their work on behalf of Community Services.” Why do you think this instruction is necessary? What does it tell you about the relationship between law and ethics?

I think that reason being is because nobody can agree on the same things all the time, that’s why laws were put in place originally so that everyone can abide by the same rules despite how one over the other may feel about it. I think no to people will agree on certain things and we all have our own opinions about things. It is necessary for that instruction to be carried out for the same reason as any other laws. Simply to keep order and to ensure that everyone flown the instructions given whether they agree or disagree on them, there has been many instances where I have witness or heard of someone saying, “I don’t make the rule, I just follow them” meaning that sometimes they might not agree on the rules, but that they have to abide by the rules set in place by the company or organization of even federal laws. It also keep people from being biased and having an opinion about something in a company so this cannot be changed and it is set as something learned and an order you automatically know you have to follow and it cannot be changed, you have to agree with it even if you many be against it. Everyone will not think the same about everything, and whoever write the law has to have some balance between what he or she may think is right and what’s best for the

Seventy Weeks of Daniel

...Seventy Weeks of Daniel BIBL 450 Liberty University On-Line Dean Jaynes 02/08/2015 Daniel 9: 24-28 contains what many consider to be the most important prophetic scriptures in the entire bible. This passage details the prophetic chronology of Israel from the time of Daniel until the second coming of Christ. Much of Daniel’s vision of the seventy weeks can be seen in both historical and biblical events such as the rebuilding of the city of Jerusalem by decree of Artaxerxes I in 445 B. C. (Miller 1994). the triumphant entry of Jesus on the 8th of Nisan (Strong 1995), and the destruction of Jerusalem by Titus in 70 AD. It is interesting to note there is a gap in Daniel’s prophecy between the sixty-ninth and seventieth weeks. When Jesus read from the scroll in Luke 4 he only read part of the scripture “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lords favor” (Isaiah 61: 1-2a NASB) and he stopped. The remainder of that scripture declares a day of vengeance of God. By not completing the scripture Jesus was saying part of the prophecy is fulfilled in your presence today and part is yet to come. The seventieth week will resume with the revealing of the Antichrist and continue until the return of Christ at his second coming. Daniel 9:24 gives us the complete prophecy...

...Currently, I approach weekly course reading material in a fairly unconventional way. My weekdays are usually incredibly hectic between my job of working with my clients and my day to day personal life with my children, so finding any quality reading time is hard during the day time hours. I generally have all reading material downloaded to my laptop in advance as we all should so I can get in a bit of reading time during my break time and my clients nap time. The problem with this is, even though it is quiet and my break time, there is still quite a bit of activity going on around me having to deal with small odds and ends, breaking any concentration I have and understanding of the text. I do get a small amount of time in peace when I get home and right before the kids get home after school in which I use to get in some reading and study time. This time is definitely quality time as my concentration is at its greatest and I can get something done. The night hours, usually after dinner, is where things have been really difficult as this is the time where the bulk of my study and reading time is. Thankfully my fiancée has begun to rectify this problem for me (when he is home from work himself) by keeping the kids busy with various things and away from me during this time so I can actually get quite a bit done in peace and...

Models and Weight

...happy and successful, they must be thin. So-called “plus-size” models are a growing presence on magazine covers, television and lingerie catalogues but at the Fashion Weeks of New York and London they are still the exception. In a reflection of the expanding market for women who defy the super-slender ideals of the catwalk, leading fashion magazine Elle offered its readers a special issue in March featuring larger than normal models and sales jumped. British designer Mark Fast introduced shows last year in which the models were all above a British size twelve, and American size eight, following criticism that his dresses were too skinny. Despite their trailblazing status in the fashion world, when it comes to bigger models New York and London are slightly out of step. The move towards more generously sized models has accelerated since the death from anorexia in 2006 of Brazilian model Ana Carolina Reston, which shocked the fashion world. Spain and Italy banned models below a certain body mass index after her death, while Britain stopped short; banning only those aged under sixteen from the catwalk. “Sixteen corresponds to a level of maturity,” said Caroline Ruth of the British Fashion Council. When Frederique van der Wal, a former Victoria’s Secret model, attended designers’ shows during New York’s Fashion Week this month, she was “shocked” by the waiflike models who paraded down the catwalk. They seemed even skinnier than in previous years. “We know seeing super-thin models...

Social Marketing Anorexia

...Social Marketing – Anti-Anorexia Campaign (Italy) X444 Background While there has been much attention focused on the obesity problem in the developed world, another serious health issue is anorexia nervosa. There is tremendous pressure in the developed world for women to be extremely thin. The current ideal female body is impossible to achieve for the majority of women and is markedly different from the classical ideal dating back to the Greeks and even as recently as the 1950s and 1960s. By today’s standards, Marilyn Monroe and Raquel Welch would be considered “fat.” Venus de Milo Ancient Greece Marilyn Monroe 1950s Raquel Welch 1960s Keira Knightley 2000s While obesity is certainly unhealthy, the social pressure for women to be extremely thin is also unhealthy. According to the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD) (2007), in the U.S. 7 million women and 1 million men suffer from eating disorder mental illness. Lauter (2008) quoted Marleen S. Japanese Anthropology

...Prof. Bodoh-Creed Anth 338 – Section 1 February 27, 2012 On an ordinary Saturday afternoon, my sister and I made our way to 1st St. and Central Ave. from a failed attempt at another left-to-be-unnamed cultural epicenter, which was a very disappointing trip. Little Tokyo proved to be quite the opposite, as I was able to ascertain a much deeper understanding of the Japanese culture because of it, and at the same time was able to reflect on the differences and similarities of my Filipino heritage. From what I was able to gather, the Japanese and Filipino cultures have quite a few significant differences, but have more similarities than I originally anticipated. As the name would suggest, Little Tokyo is fairly little, with its borders spanning a radius of only a few blocks. Walking from one end of the town to the other took no more than five minutes. That afternoon, we started our trip right in the middle of all the activity, into the mouth of a little alley known as the Japanese Village Plaza. People were walking in and out of cosmetic stores, bakeries, bars, gift shops, a brightly lit Sanrio store, cafes, a market, and a number of restaurants serving sushi, shabu shabu, ramen, even Korean barbeque. Many of these shops were playing traditional Japanese music, and interestingly, almost all of the employees that worked in these shops were women. The same could be said about the restaurants, as many of the servers were also women. The chefs on the other hand were all men...

...Paete is a fourth class municipality in the province of laguna. Holy week in paete Paete's most spectacular celebration takes place during Holy Week. It begins on Palm Sunday with the re-enactment of Christ's triumphant entry into Jerusalam. The short procession starts at the Ermita Chapel where the priest blesses the palaspas (palm branch) of the faithful. The participants then slowly move to the church as manangs (religious women) put their balabal (shawl) on the street for the priest to walk through. This custom is called payapak. A mass is held and afterwards the 16th-century statue of the Dead Body of Christ, or Señor Sepulkro to Paeteños, is brought home to its recamadero (owner and keeper of said image). The images are owned by individual families and are passed down to succeeding generations. For five days leading to Good Friday, the faithful kiss the exposed hands and feet of the Señor Sepulkro. On Holy Wednesday, a procession is held with Paete's 53 images of Christ's Passion and Ministry on display. The procession goes through the town's narrow streets en route to the church. It stops three times to give way to the Salubong (meeting) which depicts three scenes of Jesus' passion and in which Paete's "moving saints" take part. These are: the meeting of Christ and Mary, held at the church patio; the wiping of Jesus' face by Veronica, which takes place at Plaza Edesan; and finally, the encounter between Mary and Veronica where the latter shows the miraculous imprints...

...Using the data in Appendix D, analyse the possible consequences for Roberts Media plc if activity ‘G’ (equipment installed) and activity ‘E’ (design marketing campaign) are both delayed by four weeks. Critical path analysis is the mathematical network analysis technique of planning complex working procedures with reference to the critical path of each alternative system. One possible consequence is that there will be a four week delay for activity ‘G’. This will therefore lead to the launch taking 25 weeks instead of the originally planned target of it taking 24 weeks. This delay will result in the business failing to meet its targeted launch with London fashion week. This could therefore result in the business failing to receive publicity and advertisements linking to London fashion week preventing them from creating awareness thus resulting in a loss of potential customers. The loss of potential advertisement contracts also results in an additional loss of revenue. Another consequence is that Roberts Media plc will have lost a lot of potential customers and sales to its competitors. As stated in the case study the readership of the magazines has fallen in the past two years for reasons such as competition from cheaper rival magazines. By having activity ‘G’ and activity ‘E’ delayed, all the others will be as well as will the launch as previously mentioned. Roberts Media plc.’s competitors could gain customers quicker if they release their products beforehand as customers...
