Netflix is the largest online entertainment subscription service in the United States. Various subscription plans allow customers to stream movies or rent DVDs with no due dates or late fees.
The company has nationwide centers which allows for most subscribers to receive next day delivery of DVDs. Netflix subscription service has grown rapidly since it started in 1999. This company was originally fueled by the adoption of DVD’s for home entertainment and the convenience of online Reynolds. The company’s comprehensive selection of titles has high customer satisfaction and effective marketing programs which are also important performance drivers. The company’s 3 operating segments are domestic streaming, international streaming, and domestic DVDs. All segments derive revenues from monthly membership fees. Choose the two segments of the general environment that was ranked highest in their influence on the corporation you choose assess how these segments of fact the corporation you choose and industry in which it operates. The two segments of the general environment that ranks highest in their influence on Netflix would be the technological segment and the demographics segment. The technological segment will include the institutions and activities involved with creating new knowledge and translating knowledge into new outputs, products, processes, and materials. The technological segment can affect Netflix because Netflix must keep up with the latest technology to be able to compete with companies such as Amazon Prime and Hulu.
