History Of Welding

...Welding Before I start my essay I’d like to briefly go over the history of welding. Welding can trace its historic development back to ancient times. The earliest examples come from the Bronze Age. Small gold circular boxes were made by pressure welding lap joints together. It is estimated that these boxes were made more than 2000 years ago. During the Iron Age the Egyptians and people in the eastern Mediterranean area learned to weld pieces of iron together. Many tools were found which were made approximately 1000 B.C. (“History of Welding”). During the Middle Ages, the art of blacksmithing was developed and many items of iron were produced which were welded by hammering. It was not until the 19th century that welding, as we know it today...

Penta Personal Statement

...Penta Career Center has changed my overall perception of school, and I am very eager to share how. Penta is a vocational school located in Perrysburg Ohio, that offers programs ranging from cosmetology to welding. Popular programs include automotive technology, masonry, culinary arts, dental assisting, early childhood education, floral design, public safety, and small animal care. And these are just few of the many programs here at Penta. Oak Harbor is my home school, and I came to Penta my junior year to attend Medical Technologies. I plan to return to Penta for my senior year as well! I chose to come to Penta because I wanted to get a headstart in the medical field. I knew that being in Medical Technologies would help me pursue my future career of becoming a licensed dermatologist. One of the things I enjoy here at Penta, is that we operate on block schedule. Block scheduling gives me a good idea of what college will be like. Penta also gives me the opportunity to participate and compete in student organizations, such as HOSA and SkillsUSA. HOSA is an organization dedicated to educating future healthcare professionals. The web defines SkillsUSA as “.. a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel. We provide educational programs, events and...

...These pages were downloaded from Writing Personal Statements Online, available at https://www.e-education.psu.edu/writingpersonalstatementsonline/ Short Personal Statement by a Geology Student Growing up in Canada with a life-long fascination for Canadian geography, I have always been interested in returning to the country. Although my family moved to the US before I entered high school, I have always kept my eyes turned north, especially in recent years as I began to read journal articles about research conducted on John Evans Glacier, located about 80° N latitude. Graduating next semester with a B.S. in computer science and engineering and a minor in geographic information systems, I am interested in attending the University of Alberta for graduate study. Geographic information systems (GIS) is a field especially suited to investigating spatial patterns, modeling diverse scenarios, and overlaying spatial data. This semester, in my advanced GIS course, Spatial Data Structures and Algorithms, I am part of a team developing a temporal database and program for tracing historical trading data. My computer science skills have also been put to use in two summer internship projects, where I acquired proficiency with using LIDAR (light detection and ranging) technology, now favored by NASA in its current 10-year study of Greenland and changes in the ice cap extent. Through my coursework and project experience, I have also accrued skills...

...and its divisions, the definition of Total Compensation and the aspects based on it, the way of achieving Strategic objectives using performance based pay, Introducing benefits and services, maintaining the workforce and Safety and Healthy and finally understanding Unionization and Collective Bargaining. In this work we will describe and scrupulously analyze more chapters than usual, given in the book “Managing Human Resources” 10th Edition, by Susan E. Jackson, Randall S. Schuler and Steve Werner, as these are the last chapters, introduced to us by the authors. In this case we will try to give adequate interpretation and analyses to the main concerns that appear in the related book. And finally, at the end of the essay we will answer the questions, related to this exam. The questions are: 1 Should companies offer a uniform “package” of benefits, or should they move to a flexible plan that allows employees to choose the benefits that are most meaningful to them (up to a specific, pre-established dollar amount)? 2 What are some key issues to consider when establishing and monitoring an employee assistance program? 3 How have changes in product and service markets affected the way labor and management relate to each other? Looking deeply into the chapter nine, we will give the analysis to the process of Conducting Performance Management, as to the one of the major aspect in the modern Human Recourses...
