...Fall 2014 Is a Bad Kisser a Deal Breaker? He turns her towards him, looks into her eyes with a slight smile. He bends towards her and their lips meet. All of a sudden, he starts kissing aggressively. She feels something wrong. The kiss is wrong. It gradually becomes a sloppy, wet and gooey kiss. She has thought he was perfect, but for the first time ever, she ends up dating a bad kisser. This half-way romantic scene seems to happen with a lot of people. Some agree that bad kissers do not work out for them, or they cannot maintain a long term relationship because of the lack of chemistry. However, I personally would not break up with a potential partner if he or she was a “bad” kisser because there are other factors that we need to consider such as individual physical attractions, conversation, personality, and that bad kissers can be fixed. While kissing technique does a crucial element in stimulating chemistry, individual physical attractions such as hearing, visualizing, and touching are equally important in contributing to the sexual attraction between couples. According to the article “Puckering Up Now Just Lip Service?” the lips are the most sensitive parts and kissing is the fastest way to stimulate sex drive between two people (Elia/Chen, p. 11). However, there are other erogenous zones - particular areas on the body that responds to sexual attraction - that can work the same as the lips (Lecture, 09/17/14). Different people are attracted by different parts of the body...

...What if you had no friends and all of the kids at your school bullied you? What if your friend was about to be killed, would you kill the person killing your friend? What if you lost everything in your life? Coming of age is when a character or a person, matures and develops relationships with each other. For example, people begin to Come of Age as they grow up and mature as a person and as they begin to make better choices. In the book The Outsiders, by S.E Hinton a realistic fiction book, the dystopian novel Ready Player One by Ernest Cline, and finally the characters in Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher, all need to figure out what is going on with their lives, and learn to develop relationships to come of age. In order to come of age, characters must be able to develop relationships whether good or bad to mature and become a better person. First off, Ponyboy and his friends risk their lives when it comes to friends. In the book, Ponyboy, was going to be drowned by the Socs, until Johnny, one of his best friends, came to the rescue and ended up killing somebody just so that he could save his friend. “"I killed him, he said slowly. I killed that boy”...

...Optimism vs. Pessimism We all know that we have been around all types of people in our lives during different circumstances. There are people who look at all the good things in this world and there are people who always seem to be upset. Some people look at the bad things regardless of the things that they are doing. The people who look at good things are being optimistic and the ones that look at the bad are called pessimistic. These types of people approach life in work, school, and relationships in different ways. For example, an optimist is happy to have what they have accomplished in life, and a pessimist is upset or finds excuses about their life. We are around these types of people daily, but it’s up to us to decide whether we see our lives in an optimistic or pessimistic way. Everyone makes mistakes from time to time and fail in something. In the workplace optimist seem to find success even when something fails. We know that nobody is perfect, yet the effort you put into your job is what the outcome will be. For example, if you arrive on time every day to work and do a good job, it’s likely you will receive a raise when the time comes. On the other hand, a pessimist would be really upset if a mistake occurs. They spend their time complaining about how they failed and why they wouldn’t try to fix the problem. They always seem to find an excuse about something. School can be hard for many students, especially if they struggle through it. This makes it hard to develop...

...There has always been a common struggle against man between good and evil. This struggle is seen in day-to-day life but most importantly literature. One literature that has shown this struggle most evidently in would be Macbeth. Macbeth is a play written by William Shakespeare (Britannica). In the play the character Macbeth is first introduced as a noble man. His nobility slowly began to fall short and turn into evil once he is introduced to three witches. These three witches were able to tell Macbeth his fate. They told him that he would eventually be king. Macbeth, wanting this to come true, would have to go great lengths to make this happen and he did. To meet his fate, Macbeth had to lie, cheat, and steal in a way to get what he wanted. Sound familiar? Like us, Macbeth’s struggle of good and evil became more and more apparent. The relationship between good and evil in the character Macbeth is shown through his morality, ambition, and fears....

...After reading different stories in the Making Literature Matter, I have chosen “The Class Two Kinds” to construct an argument regarding an issue of parent-child relationships. We have all known the importance of the relationship between parents and children. “Individual goals often include good health, the absence of stress, and lifelong positive relationships with their children” (Kuchner). Basically, the very first people we have closely connected with since the born of us are our parents. “Although in individuals may form numerous interpersonal relationships throughout their lives, parent-child relationships begin early in children’s lives and are critical for children’s long-term adjustment and success” (Orbuch). That is why the relationship between parents and children is so important. Without a good relationship, a family will not have a good structure. However, as the children grow older, they have more thoughts of viewing different things in their own ways. That always leads to more conflicts between parents and children. Especially at the age of teenagers, they are just turning the level of maturities. “Early research suggested that parental separation and divorce are associated with a number of negative outcomes in children, such as emotional and behavioral problems, poor school achievement, low self-esteem, and juvenile delinquency”(Amato). The divorce of the parents will also bring some effects to the parent-child relationship. It does not always bring negative effects...

...and special project in the marketing department. Later on, she got another job offer in a different and bigger company, the Potomac Waters. From that time, her main challenge was to choose between these tow companies. Both have their advantages and inconveniences, which we will be talking about more in detail later in our study. Finally, she decided to work for Potomac Waters as the assistant product manager. However, as she stated working, things aren’t going as she expected, and problems got bigger and bigger as time passed by. After few months working there, she started doubting about her decision of working there. Did she take the right decision? This study will help us answer this question throughout the study. The problem started from the beginning when she was still making the decision of choosing either to work for Deep Dive Pizza, where she had her internship or at Potomac Waters, a way bigger company with more potential in the market. Before she decided to work for Potomac Waters, she went to get information from the company, by visiting the industry itself and meeting the employees from different departments. She was so in love with the way the employees work and welcomed her that she would hesitate to work there anymore. Her vision of the company and the way they work was yet still broad. Like all decisions made, there are always consequences (both good and bad) no matter what...

..."Healthy Relationships" In this essay the author tells us about healthy relationships, but I will be addressing the difference between a healthy an unhealthy relationship. A healthy relationship makes you feel good about yourself, feeling loved. In have high self-esteem, along with a positive attitude. A healthy relationship may involve: Siblings, Friends, Intimate friends or spouse. An unhealthy relationship should not involve no one that's going to make the relationship worse than it already is. An Unhealthy relationship may have your head somewhere else or have you thinking down about yourself, which may cause low self esteem. In a unhealthy relationship your partner may be too controlling or very mean and harmful. In terms of a relationship , it does not have to be intimate to be considered a healthy relationship. Best friends could be in an unhealthy relationship also. If one friend is considered a bad person to other people, in the other person is the good person, but the only time they bad is when they with a bad person. Even if the good person does not act bad, if they hang out with bad people they may be considered bad themselves. As far as Siblings are concerned, if one sibling always picks or tease the other sibling , that may be considered a unhealthy relationship. Siblings can either make a relationship healthy or unhealthy . Once it comes down to it , Siblings can act different once they around people they know. It depends on the...

...years, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) research has been trying to increase the good experience and try to reduce bad experiences as much as possibly with technology. The rapid change in technology allows users to use wide range of applications while on the move, however now and then designers ignore the way clients will need to associate with such interfaces while progressing. It is inefficient if an interface has good software but users struggle to relate with it because of a bad design. The design of a user interface must be simple enough so that it can be easy to interact by novice or expert user. A well designed interface is able to empower and support users who require a sense of agency and control. It is important...

...What communication is? Communication can be a variety of things such as speech, body language, listening skills, giving information, written communication, and physical communication. They are many ways to communicate with people each communication creates a relationship. There are good and bad relationships, it all depends on the tone of voice and their body language used. For example a good relationship would be talking to someone in a good tone like a nursery teacher who has to talk to pupils with a soft calm tone the only time they change the tone is when the behaviour of the pupil is not to a standard. Bad relationship, bad communication for example would be a teenager talking to a bus driver in a low and high volume speech (shouting) this may be caused by the wrong understanding between the two people another example could be a court judge showing they are bored with there body language as the defendant is trying to speak the reasons for being bored are as follows the defendants tone or volume maybe too low or too high. Communication is a message sent between two people who are the messenger and the receiver, the messenger is the person sending a type of communication which the receiver can understand the receiver then needs to understand what the messenger has sent and gives them feedback (an answer). What are Barriers to communication? Barriers to communication are things such as background noise. Someone screaming next to you for instance while you is trying to talk...

...Sean Butler 4/4/16 Professor Stringer Criminal Justice System How Crime is good for Society Ever since the first use of national crime statistics came out in 1934, there have only been 16 years where the crime rate declined, eight of those years being after 1992. So basically, crime is all around us, all the time. Interestingly though, the evidence shows that,” our most sustained drop in crime, neatly coincides with the longest economic expansion in U.S. history has led some experts to insist there's a connection between the two.” (Leher, Eli.) That’s contradictive of beliefs though, at first you would think crime rates should drop and fall regarding the countries economics. After looking at the data though, there’s little evidence to suggest that good economic times have an effect on the crime rates. Crime is good for society because it determines the economic trend, how crime benefits the economy, it sets boundaries on what is right and wrong, and the philosophers and their views on crime. Between the years of 1955-1972, as the US economy flourished, with a mild recession in the beginning of the 1960s. By the time they reached the 1970s, “crime rates had increased over 140 percent. Murder rates had risen about 70 percent, rapes more than doubled, and auto theft nearly tripled.” (Leher, Eli.) A bad economy doesn’t necessarily indicate more crime though, “Crime rates fell about one third between 1934 and 1938 while the nation was struggling to emerge from the Great Depression...

...Kirsten Logan “The Rental Heart” Essay Love is hard, especially when we live in a world with so many millions of people, different, every single human being, so unique and away from other human beings on the earth. We live in a world were hatred, war and racism has dominated for years. And we keep asking ourselves, why? Why do we still need love? Why can’t we live without it, and sometimes can’t live with it? What does it mean for us, when our hearts tell us to fell something for other humans? Its questions we keep asking ourselves because we don’t know how to handle love, how to control it, how to balance between our bad and good emotions and in the end we don’t know what real love is, before getting heart, maybe a few times. Love, emotions, a broken heart that never ends feeling empty, it’s basically what the story is about in the novel “the Rental Heart”. The short story presents a protagonist as neuter story teller. We don’t really know anything about this person, which sex the teller has, looks, anything from the outside besides the tellers thoughts and the chronological story that tells about the various attempts at love. The narrator introduces us to many different types of persons “she” had a relationship with. but that isn’t the focus we have in the novel, it is really about the questions we have on the persons’ sex’. The narrator keeps switching sex on “her” lovers, and sometimes we wonder if “she” switches “her” own sex. for example the narrators switching personality...

...Abstract Despite research that has been focused on leadership for over 10 years ago, the concept of leadership is still indefinable. This paper attempts to develop the leadership concept by investigating the possibility of the coming up with fresh measures of leadership which concentrating on the characteristics of good and bad leaders. A total of 312 managers were recruited in the study. A factor analysis was conducted to reduce 13 traits of good leadership to two factors including the good and the visionary, and 13 bad traits to two factors including the evil and the inept. Secondly, there was evaluation of the way male and female followers view leadership styles adopted by the best and worst bosses. It was discovered the perception of women on their excellent bosses differed from the males` perceptions. The variations were based on several dimensions. Nevertheless, there is little difference regarding the males and females` perceptions of bad bosses. Introduction Researches on leadership have been found to be both interesting as well as frustrating. During times of excellence in leadership, leadership propels the imagination of scholars, practitioners and the general public since it may imply changed lives for better outcomes. On the other hand, failures in leadership may have harmful effects on many people, at time affecting life and even death. Nonetheless, scholars have bumbled in their quest to comprehend fully the leadership phenomenon. According to Burns (1978), leadership...

...There doesn't necessarily have to be a bad twin and a good twin in each pair, but there could be. This all depends on personalities and each owns dislikes and likes. It all comes down on how they react in social situations. Labeling twins as “good or bad” damages their relationship. Just like everyone else twins have their own different personalities. ”Twinning skips a generation” People say that if you're a twin you can't have twins. This thought to be true because more times than not, Twins don't have twins. This is untrue , The result of this is because men who inherit this gene from their mothers are not affected by it, but can pass it on to their daughters. Meaning only mothers can impact the chance of having twins, But this gence can be passed on. Identical Twins are one fertilized egg randomly splitting into two making these two siblings identical. There is no proven gene that is proved to cause this splitting of the egg.. It is simply a coincidence. “Twins should always be separated in school, so they will learn how to get along without each other” . Every set of twins is different, for some set of twins this separation in the start of school can be more harmful for...

On the other hand there is an another point is conflict management is the way to solve conflicts and also known as conflict resolution this is the way it helps to transferring the negative aspect of conflict to positive aspect of conflict. Both the things are very useful in an organization in which they both are inter-related with each other like for any organization it is not possible to imagine that organization communication...

...Implementer: This means that this character is well organised. This is a good thing because it means that they are able to keep track of what’s been done, what needs doing etc. They take very basic ideas, and they convert them into tasks. This is good because if there wasn’t someone like this, then the team would not have a high productivity because they wouldn’t know how to change ideas into actions. Sometimes they can be slower than others, this would be a problem in a fast paced activity. Shaper: This means that they have a lot of energy when doing a task. This is a good thing because it makes other people in the team want to move forward and to do well. This means that the task will be done quicker as more people will be getting involved with the task. They can sometimes be insensitive. This means that they show or feel no concern for other people’s feelings. This is a bad thing because people in the team could get offended by a comment and it could cause friction in the group. Completer/Finisher: This means that they always see things through to the end of the task. They make sure that everything is working well and making sure that everything’s right. This is a good thing because it means that if anything is going wrong, then they can identify it and make it right. A bad thing about this role, is that they can worry too much about the task and they may not trust other people in the team. This is bad because trust level will be low, and communication will not be high. Plant:...
