Gen24:3-4

Don't look at your limitations. Look at Gods promises. Find Gods promises that will take u to your goal
Gen 24:7

Pray about your goals, dreams & future.

Prayer reveals how serious u r about what u want. If u don't pray about them, u don't care about them. If u pray about it once it's not a desire. Show God the desires of your heart by praying without ceasing at the same time keeping the faith in God.
Prayer also reveals how much u r depending on God to come thru for u

Nothing is accomplished w/o patience & persistence. In order for success your dreams must translate into work. Make a detailed plan not a snap judgement. You have to delay gratification sometimes in order to succeed. A goal worth achieving has obstacles, look at the long term view to keep persevering. God's timing is perfect. A God-given vision will always be fulfilled
Gen 24:21
Success involves help from others. Find a support team. Teamwork is important to God b/c the most important lesson is to love people. Not just that, but u will not be able to change without support, prayers & encouragement of other people. The stronger your team is, the more you can fulfill your dream.
Ecc 4:12

Great goals=Great sacrifice
1. What will it cost?
2. What am I willing to give?
3. Is it worth it?
Leave a legacy. Mark 8:36
Gen 24:53
Gal 3:29
Gal4:6-7

How can I know my destiny?
Ask "what has God given me for good to use for good?"
Recognize the gifts God has given you. Including things you can't control such as your parents, your nationality, race, your language. They also include your SHAPE - your spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality & experiences. This is what makes u unique.

College Admissions Essay: What Do I Want To Do?

...When I was younger I was always asked the question "what do you want to be when you grow up?" Whenever I was asked that question I was always stumped. What DID I want to do for the rest of my life? I wanted to finish middle school, start high school, and go to college. Like it was as simple as that. At the time I did not know what I wanted to study in college. I mean I was only in middle school at the time and everyone expected every little detail in my life to be planned out already. I would always reply with the dull answer of "I don't know." The more I was asked, the more I pondered it. What did I love to do? I loved to read visiting the library every day during lunch to get a couple of new books to read. I was always creative loving to...

What Do I Want Most In Life Essay

...provoking question you should ask yourself everyday is, what do you want most in life. There are many things people want materialistically or ideally. It can go all the way from fancy cars to world peace. For example, Martin Luther king wanted to give equal rights towards African Americans because they were very supressed at that time and you can say Dr. King accomplished what he was trying to do. Some people work their whole lives to buy a car they've always wanted, and they accomplish it. Different people desire different things. Some people work for themselves to find self euphoria and others assist people to pursuit their own happiness. The text/videos and authors I will be referring to in this text are first off , Anthem by Ayn Rand, “Emancipation Proclamation” by Abraham Lincoln, “Prometheus” found in greek mythology, Critical thinking by Leo, and our very own socratic seminar we had as a classroom. I feel as if I can apply the question , “what do I want most in life” to each of these text/videos because they were trying to find a way to accomplish their vision. I want most in life is to find my happiness First off, I will be talking about Anthem by Ayn Rand....

Personal Statement: Why I Am Principled Person

...essay, I will be discussing the changes I would like to change as a citizen, learning profiles that best characterize who I am and discussing the biggest goal I set for my life. Last, I also want to discuss what type of format learner I am. Part of being a great citizen is to support the environment. I currently recycle; however, my wish is to recycle frequently. I should recycle due to almost everything we use today is made up of recyclable material. For instance, reusing our water bottles can reduce cost of making new water bottles. If we do not recycle, our landfills will only get bigger and it can damage our environment by taking up our free land. Since recycling is good for the environment, it can save companies from using unnecessary...

...Ms. Pichay: I am writing to inform you about how it is hard for filipinos in the city of Porterville to be accepted into society. It is hard for any race to be socially accepted in this country. There are so much criteria that you have to pass to even be considered into society. You have to look a certain way, act a certain way, talk a certain way, etc. To be honest, I don't even know if I am socially accepted because I don't pass a certain criteria. If it's hard for me, then I can't imagine what it must feel like for another person in my race. If you are filipino, it is especially hard to get accepted into society because we're different from other people. We have different values and outlooks on life. I want to know what you are going to do to fix this issue in the city of Porterville. There are a lot of filipinos, teenagers especially, that will do anything to get accepted into society. We want to be accepted by everyone because we want them to like us. We care about what other people think about us because that's just how we are. I know I am like that because if someone doesn't like me, then I will do anything to get them to like me. Filipinos have a difficult time getting accepted because we look or act differently compared to other races. When someone looks at me, I feel their eyes judging me and I don't want to feel like that anymore because I get really self-conscious about the way I look or act. I judge myself every time someone looks at me the wrong way. I don't like...

Knowing Self In Ayn Rand's 'Anthem'

...mythology, “Critical Thinking video” by Leo and our Socratic Seminar. What do you want most in life? but not just the people in these texts have trouble asking themselves this. Many teenegers now struggle with this too. They have to decide whether they want to do something or not and most of the time this affects their entire life. I also struggle with answering this and getting what I want most in my life. What i want most in my life is freedom and acceptance. First, In the book Anthem by Ayn Rand Equality wanted freedom. He wanted the freedom to be himself and to learn. He also wanted to be accepted by his “brothers”. In the book equality struggled to fit in. He always hid who he was so he wouldn’t get in trouble. For example he was so different that he was even taller than everyone else “ There is evil in your bones, Equality 7-2521, for your body has grown beyond the bodies of your brothers” (Anthem pg.18). But equality is not the only one. I can relate to this because I've also struggled with acceptance from my family and i still do....

Current Philosophies of Classroom Management

...having control of what is going on in your classroom. * Responsible- for my actions as a teacher and my student that I am teaching * Compassionate- Listen to your students and understand them. They are not your little robots. They are people to and you are to help them on their journey. These are the thing I believe is how a teacher should act when she is anywhere. At all times we as teachers are looked upon by the community, parents, and students are the role model and need to act like a role model. It is important we act as we want our students to act. How student are expected to behave. * Students are expected to have manners- Students need to use kind words as simple as please, thank you, and you are welcome. * Responsible- Students are to be responsible for their actions toward me and others. * Understand- Students need to understand right from wrong. * Respect- Students will understand and be respectful to the adults at school and other students. * To have a want- I expect my student to have want to learn and be there at school. If they do not want to be there it will be a fight from the beginning. This how I expect my students to enter my class. I do know that not all students know what some of these words are and what they mean. But, within the first couple days of class they will be taught so they do understand what they mean. An what I expect from them for the rest of the school year. This is how I expect my students...

What Is Life

...GET A LIFE By Muyiwa Afolabi Do you have your life? Please think about this question, do you really have your life? I've heard statements like ‘get a life’ on many occasions said to people who appear to be different and unconventional especially in matters of socializing. Many also think the whole concept of life and living is about fun, leisure and enjoyment. When an individual is having a great time, you hear remarks like he's enjoying life, when an individual is conservative and somewhat antisocial we conclude he doesn't have a life. Hmmm. What is life? I believe life is a season or a duration when an individual is conscious, aware and involved in matters of this world. It is a period when an individual is expected to fulfil a purpose, serve a purpose, make something great happen, impact the world and influence things positively. I believe we all exist and are in this world to improve things and make better the condition of this earth. We are all here to make the world a better place; to create value, not destroy value, to make people happier, mankind better and humanity more purposeful. We are here to improve the world. This, though being a collective purpose and objective for all mankind, as individuals our place, roles and assignments vary. That's why we are created and gifted differently. Our gifts and talents are indicators of our place, our projects and assignments in this world. The ability to recognise your place, your gift, your sphere and your assignment makes...

One Movement

...can’t I put down something about children on paper? How can I show what goes on in the mind of children? How do children see the grown one in the world? As I have imagined all these things, I discovered that I can show this view through a play (drama). This play tried in the way it can to show the world view of children between the ages of five and seven, how the adults have influenced them and what(how) they perceive their actions, characters and utterances. The language of the characters is as the languages of the children in Nigerian society. Their languages are always simple and to some extent lack syntactic and semantic organization. But to depict and maintain the interest of the reader, some touches are made in some aspects of their utterances’. We should understand that in the world we live today- children also have a room in it; therefore we should in all ramifications make them understand the essence of life through our behavior, actions and utterances. We might ignore them but they are always sensitive about their environment-we (adults) are part of their environment. ...Professional Module 1 Exercise 1 I am pursuing at degree at ITT Tech because I need a career change. I have been in the restaurant industry for most of my life. I love the restaurant business, but it is very hard on my life and the schedule that I have to work does not allow me to spend much time with my daughter or socialize with others. In addition, the IT field is one that will always be in demand and offers almost unlimited growth potential. Two goals that I have set for myself are to lose 20-30 pounds in the next 3 months with exercise and diet, and to explore new and different techniques to help with my bi-polar condition. I have chosen these two goals for different reasons. My first goal deals with my overall physical health, which will also carry over to my mental health. I would like to lead a more active lifestyle, similar to what I have in the past when I was younger, which at this time I am not physically able to do. I have been advised by my doctor that I need to lower my cholesterol, so eating healthier will help accomplish this. In turn, by altering my physical health, this will have a great impact on my self-perception and help to change way of thinking. My second goal deals with bi-polar condition. It is something that I have struggled with all my life and has affected all aspects of my life. It has made it difficult for me to communicate my thoughts and feelings in appropriate ways. Two things that I would like to explore are meditation...

Moving to Another Country

...she knows and how she is forced to do what her parents want her to do even if she wants to do something different. In her article, Hwang said, “When my parents boarded the plane, they knew they were embarking on a rough trip. I do not think they imagined the rocks in the path of their daughter.” This means that on many occasions parents try to give their children a better life by moving to a new country, which they feel has more opportunities; however, at the same time, parents do not realize what their children are going be confronted with in the new country. I agree with Hwang that first generations in the United States have to deal with many obstacles especially feeling alienated from their home country and feeling obligated to fulfill their parents’ expectations. Some children of immigrants may feel they do not fully belong in their country. Hwang said, “They do not see that I straddle two cultures, nor that I feel displaced in the only country I know.” This explains that Hwang does not feel as if she belongs to a community and much less to the country she is living on. When I moved from Mexico to Santa Barbara and started high school, I did not know any English at all and that made me feel excluded as if I did not belong here. One day, when I was in my soccer class, the teacher made groups of people and had us discuss about how the team could communicate better. In my group, there were three Americans and me; for a few minutes I felt I had fit in the group. But when they...
