A few Things I have learned in my 18 Years
Life tosses a lot of lessons, some are difficult to learn and some are easier, it’s all about how you handle it. Something’s that life wants you to know, are little and stupid and seem life they don’t have any significance to your life. However, it is either going to educate you not to do it again, or it will be a amusing story to tell your friends down the road. The little things make life a little lighter sometimes where as the large things helps you open your eyes and helps you in the long run.
Life has taught me numerous things. Everyday I learn something new, adding to that list. One of the very first things that I recall learning, is to not lie on the ground attempting to look underneath the vacuum when mom is in the middle of vacuuming. For some individuals, this lesson is one that does not need to be learned, but for me, it was something I had to learn. Spending hours of crying, as my mother pulled every strand of hair out, and hours of my mom being annoyed yet laughing about it anyways because how bizarre is it, that I got my hair stuck in the vacuum. While facing the pain, I thought I learned that I should steer clear of housework; my mom on the other hand, did not.
Something else I have learned is that telling someone that they look ill or worn-out, isn’t going to make him or her feel better. I, of all people should know, this because if someone were to walk up to me and say something like that, my heart would certainly sink to my feet. You want to treat other people how you want to be treated, so don’t point out other people’s flaws or sleepiness, unless you’re equipped for others to do the same to you.
Another thing that I have learned is that when I’m the reason that the toilet paper runs out, I am also the one that needs to replace it. It is never a fun period when someone is sitting on the

What I Have Learned

...What Have I Learned By Charles Myers When I started this course I was not aware there were so many types of written communication being used in the work place. The field of technical communication is a lot more involved and diverse than what I was aware of. In my past line of work I was not exposed to much in the way of technical writing, I mainly used part drawings and something we called route sheets. These were documents that followed a part through the manufacturing process from start to finish. At the time I was using them I did not think about what went into designing them so they would be easy to read and interpret by all people who came in contact with them. Now I have a greater respect for people that have to design such documents on a daily basis. After taking this course I feel I would be more able to do something like this myself if the need ever comes. The course has also helped me see the need for having a well written resume in order find a better job once I complete my course of study. I have never needed a resume before in the field of work that I was in, but I can see that will probably change when I change careers. The field that I plan to go into will give me a greater chance to use the skills I have learned in this course more so than anything I have done before. I still do not consider myself to be a writer, but I am better prepared with the basics and have the course text that I can use to refer back on when the need arises. I now see that I need...

What I Have Learned

...LIFE, AS WE KNOW IT From different ups and downs I had experienced and from different people I have met in my college days, I can say that I had learned so much, much more than high school and elementary days. If those younger years let me become learned of basic education, this stage of life, being a college student taught me more than medical and nursing concepts. But it also taught me about other aspects of life such as the whole life itself, understanding other people’s life and feelings, knowing how me, myself and I help me in every problems, treasuring friendships and respecting other people. Health care spirituality is one of the courses that let me learn how these things affect my living. It teaches me more about life and the consequences of it. Life is a continuing process of learning. I believe that the every good deed, and everything we do to others, will not be written on transcript of records, but recorded on Almighty’s. At first, going to college made me feel ambivalent feelings. Feelings of excitement, fear, feeling of being misunderstood, not being heard, and of being alone. Coming from a Catholic school high school institution, I decided to choose a Catholic college institution. One selfish reason is that, I prefer to go to school which has a lower dense of population, I don’t prefer to be in a crowded universities and college, because I think that the lower the population is, the more focused the teachers and administration can give to the students. But...

5. Based on What I Have Learned in This Chapter, What Advice Would I Give to Managers Trying to Increase Employees’ Organizational Commitment and Job Satisfaction` in a Recession

...Keith shoemaker Assignment for Chapter 4, 5, and 6 Module 2 Due Feb. 15th 1. Has this presentation challenged any assumptions I have had about China and the Chinese people? Explain. I have never really given any thought to different cultures being different in the way they do business. I suppose I will have to learn these nuances as time goes on. Because I never really had a clear predetermined idea of what other cultures did compared to mine, it wasn’t very surprising to me about China’s individualistic approach to business. I am surprised that the government accepts Chinas residents strive for individualism. I always thought that Chinese people were told what to do and how to act weather they were doing business or just living their lives. Because of Chinese residents of suppression for many generations I can see how they would be very aggressive with what they want in their personal lives as well as business. The incentive of being wealthy and going after what they need to do to make this happen does in fact surprise me. I assumed that Americans were the most aggressive. I believe this chapter has opened my eyes to other cultures and the way they do business. I liked the notion of Chinese business people don’t deliberate very long before they move ahead on a project. Here in the west we seem to analyze things too much. We study and research ideas and proposals so long that if we just moved ahead with an idea we would get much more accomplished. Another myth...

All About Me

...What I have Learned about Me PSY/285 October 10, 2012 Darren Iwamoto What I have Learned about Me There are several things I have learned about myself during this course. Most I already knew about myself just did not know that there was specified names for my attributes. I have also learned how I can deal with my unique attributes to help me personally and professionally. A person is made up of many attributes, and no two people have exactly the same combinations of attributes. One of mine is always extending help to others even if it conflicts with my schedule. I usually do this at work. I thought previously before taking this class that it was out of the goodness of my heart, but know realize that under the social exchange theory I was getting rewarded in several ways. I learned managerial tasks, I got noticed as a hard worker, and I am not one to complain about working 11 days without a day off. This landed me the manager position without trying. I have also always thought of myself as an odd ball. I have now learned that I have individualistic thoughts and feelings, and I am not afraid to show them. People would in general would be happier with themselves if they were required to take a class like this to learn about themselves. (University of Phoenix, nod) There are many ways to utilize attributes of oneself to his or her advantage. The key here is to know when to express these attributes of to watch them. One attribute I have learned that could help...

Reflections

...Reflection on What I have learned in This Course Blake Bass Hum/111 January 27, 2013 Sean Brinker Reflection on What I have Learned in This Course Have you ever thought about the critical thinking process? Very seldom does anyone think about if they are using their critical thinking skills or not. I have learned that I did not effectively use critical thinking, and I also learned how to use my critical thinking skills in order to help me think more clearly. Critical thinking is something everyone needs to be aware of and also they need to learn how to improve their critical thinking skills. When using critical thinking, someone is self-guided and self-disciplined in thinking that tries to take their level of reasoning that is done naturally to a higher level of thinking. It is also a goal to improve someone’s thought process by analyzing and evaluating information and situations. The three most significant things that I have learned in this class have been how to redefine the way I see things. I have started looking at situations from other people’s perspective so that I can have a better understanding of how they view things. Before I started this class I always thought my ideas were right and no one could tell me otherwise. The second thing I have learned is instead of playing on the computer and such I could reflect on my day. I have been working on this and it has helped in my critical thinking process. The third thing I have learned is to keep an intellectual...

Final English Paper

...English 1302 class, I have learned writing skills that I will utilize for the rest of my college career. Communication through text is a critical skill of modern day society and should rightfully take place as required curricula. I have grown through my efforts as a writer and my increasingly practical knowledge of essay construction, source integration as well as an understanding of the importance of this course. In my post-diagnostic examination, I received 56 out of 74. This was four questions less than my pre-diagnostic examination in which I received 60 out of 74. I feel I have grown as a writer further than just correcting the last minute grammatical and spelling errors in order to complete my final drafts. Instead, I have also blossomed in the skill of communication through my writing. I have learned the required structure of an essay, and how to construct a literature review as well as a researched argument. I still require practice in some areas of grammatical structure, such as comma splicing, as this was a recurring problem and an area of weakness for me. I have learned that a properly formed essay requires an introduction, body paragraphs and a conclusion. In the introduction, the thesis should be clear and is normally located at the end of the introduction. I learned the introduction requires an exigency describing why my topic is significant. In the body paragraphs, topic sentences are crucial. They should point back to the thesis and explain what the paragraph will...

Greek Mythology

...unit I have learned a profuse amount of information about the earth we live on. Before this semester, I had not known even half of what I learned and I really enjoyed being educated on this subject. This semester was by far more entertaining and easier to follow than the last. What I learned over this course was the carbon and nitrogen cycle. I had barely even known what these were up until a few weeks ago. I learned how they repeated themselves and how we affect the environment we live in. I learned about global climate change. How we are adding an extreme amount of CO2 in the air with our combustion and burning of trees. The affects of global climate change, not global warming. All around us our climate is changing and a big part of that is the way we willingly let harmful substances in to our atmosphere. I learned about clouds, there shapes and forms. I learned about the 4 seasons. I know now how the earth is tilted to create new periods of weather change. One of the most helpful ways, for me was the coloring sheets. It sounds silly, but I really needed the visual of the carbon and nitrogen cycle to fully understand the topic. same with the model of the sun and the earth. That was incredibly useful to me because I could actually see with my own eyes what was happening. As for all the reading and worksheets, I can honestly say they do not help me much. I think that is why I am not able to understand some of the topics we go through. I just need to visualize what I am...

Women's Health

...Women’s Health -What were significant or important things you learned about women’s health that you did not know before? Name at least 3 and explain why. One of the important things I’ve learned in Women’s Health is located in Chapter 3, called “Developing a Healthy Lifestyle”. I learned about the life expectancy of women in the United States and all over the world. I was not aware that life expectancy in the U.S. is 80 years old. Honestly, I thought it was younger than that. Next, I learned the leading causes of death for U.S. females. I know cancer (breast especially) is one leading cause. I was not aware that heart disease is the actual leading cause. Lastly, I learned the overall health for women. I learned how to keep my body healthy and make myself a better, more energetic me. I would have to say, however; my favorite chapter this semester was definitely chapter 3. There are plenty of things I learned about women’s health that I was unaware of before. I learned more about women’s grief in losing someone close. I learned more about depression and how it truly affects a woman. Most importantly I learned how to manage my stress. I have had major problems when dealing with stress. After reading chapter 5 “Managing the Stress of Life,” I learned how to deal with my stress in a more positive way. Now my stress never gets the best of me! Also, I have learned a lot more about healthy relationships. There were times where my husband and I would fight over something little or...

What I Learned In A College Degree: Does It Really Work?

...What worked? What worked for me, the most was being able to take online college courses. I always wanted to earn a college degree, yet never had the time because of family obligations. When I looked at Ashford University and what it had to offer, it allowed me to be able to, not only take LIB courses online, but also take care of my family at the same time. I had always wanted to do something in the educational field, and now, by taking LIB courses at Ashford, I am continuing towards a Master’s Degree in Education with a specialization in Instructional and Curriculum Design. Doing this never would have happened if it was not for online college. What didn’t work? The only thing that did not work was not having a break in between classes. Taking one course for five weeks, and then having to take the next five-week class right afterward was sometimes difficult to do because I felt “burned out.” Having a one-week break in between classes would give a student a chance to breathe and refresh their...
