When I was treated unfair it was in 3rd grade. It was terrible. I wish it had never happened. I very much dislike the teacher, so mean. So here it goes. When I was in 3rd grade my teacher named Mrs. Jackson, she told everyone to stop talking like every teacher tells their students to do. Mrs. Jackson turned around to grab some papers from her desk. A kid beside me starts talking of course, then Mrs. Jackson turned around and thought it was me! Of all kids, and I was the quietest in the class I like never talked and then she yells at me while I sat in my set just watching her face get red with anger and I watched spit fly everywhere it was like watching an angry bull dog, also she was quite fat. I would have liked her if she tried to find out

My 4th Year High School Life, Different from the Others

...there are many things in my life that changed a lot in me but I can say that the one that had changed me the most is my being a 4th year high school student. I don’t know why, but I really learned a lot in this part of my life. There are also some good effects of me being a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year high school student, but being a fourth year student is really different. It’s different from my other past experiences. The first day of 4th year came and I found out that my section is Br. Flavius, wherein my classmates were also my classmates when I was in 3rd year. At first I had thought of transferring to other section, because I want something new and I want to have new friends with other people. But then I had a realization that I can’t afford to be away from my friends. I also thought that it is God’s will that I am part of that section, so there is a purpose why I belong here. One of the main reasons why I decided not to transfer to other section is because I learned that the adviser of our section is Mr. Joseph Consignado. Even when I was still on the lower years, I already know his name. Many people say that he is one of the best advisers of the high school department. Every section that he handled was always known to be one of the best sections of that year level. And the mere fact that he is my adviser, I know that there is something that will be changed in me. I want to learn on how he handles an advisory class and how he will change our lives. It is in the month of...

Language Development

...Montessori classroom, assessment occurs in 4 ways. * The Montessori three period lesson. * 1st Period: I (the teacher) show and name a new concept. Example: “These shapes are congruent.” * 2nd Period: I then (at a later time) ask the student to show a particular concept. Example, “Show me the congruent shapes.” * 3rd Period: Finally, I ask the student to recall the concept. Example: “What are these shapes called?” * The materials are self-correcting which shows my students when they have made a mistake so they know to go back and try again. * There is an isolation of difficulty in the lesson sequence that allows me (the teacher) and the child to assess understanding of complex processes from the beginning to the end. * Eudsoft Unit Testing. Edusoft is a Benchmark Assessment Program that East Baton Rouge Parish School System utilizes. The tests content is aligned to the Common Core State Standards. Each unit test has both multiple choice and open-ended items. How do you work to meet the language goals of all the children in your class individually? Individual learning takes place within the Montessori environment. The Montessori classroom is prepared with a wealth of materials selected and designed to meet the needs of the children individually. This allows each child to learn at their own pace. What techniques or strategies do you use to encourage language development? The Three Period Lesson is a teaching technique...

Here is the question before us: How do we collectively, through our laws, religion, and customs go about justifying actions universally thought to be wrong? All human societies have moral frameworks. These frameworks are embedded in culture, religion, and law. There is very little, if any, disagreement on this. Moral imperatives compel us, as moral beings, to certain lines of action. Many have asked whether, across all moral systems, there are common imperatives. If present, they would apply to the human condition and community across time, place, and life circumstances. No exceptions. There is far more disagreement on this question. Two imperatives will occupy our attention: 1) Life is sacred and should be protected. 2) Suffering, once detected, should be alleviated. We will explore...

Example Of ADHD Essay

...“Face it, Ms. Lombo , not all kids are academic scholars. Just keep her in sports.” My middle school principal said these words to my mom when I was in 3rd grade. When I was 7 years old I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, also known as ADHD. Some people think that when you have ADHD it means that you can’t sit still, but it's not always like that. I was an obedient child in the classroom, but I had trouble focusing on one thing, my mind was always racing. From Kindergarten to 3rd grade, I went to one of the best charter schools in Philadelphia. It was a Performing Arts school so I had the opportunity to take dance, art, French, violin, acting, and music class. I had trouble focusing in class and being able to...

Lesson 1 Assignment

...remember anything before the age of 4 or 5, but I certainly can. I can still picture the first place I ever remember living. It was the front unit of a duplex that my grandparents owned. My earliest memories are from when I was about 2 years old and living in that small front house – so small, my older brother and I slept in bunk beds on the service porch that was off to the left of the kitchen. I was the type of child that could sit quietly entertain myself for hours as long as I had a book or something to doodle with. My earliest and fondest childhood memories are of my brother and I sitting in the plush, green grass on warm Southern California days in my favorite light blue halter top that tied around the neck and a pair of shorts while my mother kept an eye on us through the screen door. My brother is a little over 4 years older than me so of course he was in school before I was, but that didn’t stop me from picking up his books and watching his every move as he learned to read and write. Before I could even talk, books held a special fascination for me. I’ve always had a love for school and learning, reading and writing in particular. Early on, I also liked being read to and becoming drawn into whatever story was being told, but it wasn’t until a few years later that I learned reading is about more than just saying words written on paper. I started learning to read in pre-school, so at about 4 years old. At such a young age, I found it easier to follow and understand...

Extra Credit

...Extra credit I recently watched the Bruce Jenner interview and I was shocked at the things he said. I had never heard someone who was a Tran’s gender’s life story. It was at times sad but also happy that he was finally making a decision to be happy. From a young age Bruce knew that his biological sex was different then his gender. He said he used to put on his sisters dress’s and walk around the house. In class we learned how gender is the societies way of perceiving your sex and this was definitely relevant here because society said it wasn’t ok for Bruce to wear dresses but he wanted to because in his soul he knew he didn’t have the heart or soul of a male. Bruce grew up trying to ignore it, he was at one time the world’s greatest athlete which is very manly but even then he wasn’t happy. Finally he married his first wife and told her his secret but continued to keep it a secret from everyone else and also started a family with kids. He then began taking estrogen pills which helped him because then he felt more feminine. He then married his second wife and the same thing happened. At this time, they were the only people who knew. When Bruce married his 3rd wife he was not happy, he began going out in public with dresses on in disguise so no one recognized him and the paparazzi began to question him. Bruce got his Adams apple shaved down and to society that is not a typical male gender role so they questioned him and then commented on his hair and basically said he was too...

Womens Studies

...TYe WST 200 December 10, 2012 What I've Learned and Have Taken Away From This Course My initial reason for taking the Women's Studies course was because one of my friends who took this class, in the previous semester strongly recommended it to me. He only told me bits and pieces of the course but as he explained you could see the passion in his eyes as we engaged in conversation. He had nothing but good things to say and he claimed that, "After this course you'll respect women way more." "Impossible" I thought, because I already respected women tremendously because I see their daily hardships and how they are portrayed them in the media. My major is psychology, thus knowing how and why women act the way they act really assisted me with helpful information related to my studies. If I wrote everything that I've learned in this course it would be well over a page. Thus, I am only sharing three of the most important pieces of information that I not only took away from this class but also applied to my everyday life. The most important information (pertaining to me) that I have learned in this class was the Power & Control wheel. The same day you issued out those papers to the class and I brought it home to my girlfriend to see if I did any of those negative actions in the wheel. I did that for two main reason: 1. I knew I didn't do any of those things (in my eyes) so I wanted to see what was her point of view. 2. To prevent it from ever happening (even if its genuinely...

Even though it is only seven pages, it is compact and concise. The progression of the learning goals is very evident. The document starts by giving general suggestions on how to approach teaching science in order to bringing all students on the same page. Towards the end of the document it is much more emphasis on the student transitioning out of middle school into high School. According to this document the student should be expected to read to learn, putting emphasis on comprehending the text, working independently and comprehending key scientific concepts. There should be less emphasis on hands-on activities, but the document still allows for this teaching style as means to evaluate skills learned. In this standard you have the same general format with categories highlighting the main...

Pinciple Components of Telecommunication Networks

...I have learned a lot from this class about management and organizational behaviors, and will carry these things with me through my career. The things I have learned in this class about how to manage people and business will further my education and knowledge of the managerial world. How to speak to people is one of the most important things to know how to do as a manager. The three things that I have will remember from this course is the management process (CLOP), the steps in the decision making process, and the small business life cycle. I believe that if I remember these three things specifically I will do well in my career. The four step process that doesn’t have any kind of organization as to which ones a manager must do first or last or in between spells out the acronym C.L.O.P. The first letter of the management process is C. The letter C stands for Controlling. Controlling is the process of measuring work performance, comparing results to objectives and taking corrective action as needed (Schermerhorn, 2012). Control is a necessary quality for a manager to have so that he can make sure all of his employees and co-workers stay on task and don’t fall behind with their work. The second letter L stands for Leading. Leading is the process of arousing people’s enthusiasm to work hard and inspiring their efforts to fulfill plans and accomplish objectives (Schermerhorn, 2012). Leading is an important quality for a manager to have so that while controlling their employees to get...

Unfortunately, not all of the children in this group of 3rd and 4th graders had the full support of their parents once school ended for the day therefore leaving them unmotivated to do homework, unable to solve homework problems on their own, and the need for the teachers to constantly repeat the previous lessons in order to catch them up. While these students were not physically challenged, they were having a hard time mentally. Although it was difficult to keep my composure from time to time due to their inability to comprehend what one would think of as basic materials at...

Takedown

...Jose Espinoza Takedown As I come off the bus, the frost on the ground glistened from the delicate light coming from the moon. This was a mental reminder that the winter was coming to an end, and also meant the wrestling season was boiling down to the end were all the sweat, pain, sacrifice, and determination was about to be rewarded in the final tournament. I enter the small town’s local high school Doniphan-Trumbull to soon be surrounded by an engulfing ever so teasing scent of scrambled eggs with toasted crisp bread with smoothly spread jelly, accompanied by ham and mash potatoes bathed in gravy. As the restless temptation to consume the delicious breakfast self-control begins to take over. The school varsity wrestlers escort me along with my teammates where all the other wrestlers were in a small gymnasium with a mat in the middle with lights beating on the ring. I anxiously wait for the referees to begin weigh-ins; I talk to my teammate about my chances at this tournament. My teammate’s inputs were all very similar some said “it all depends on how you do”, “you could get lucky” but the one remark which was from Sabien which Rallied me up on the inside was “You’re not coming out of here with more than one win”. Weigh-ins begins as my head is filled with doubt I weigh in at the 152 lbs. class. I walk to the main gym were the Lighter weights along with mine were going to be called I eat to ease the nerves. Personal Narrative: My Interview With A Teacher

...On October 3rd, I had the privilege to interview Mr Gibson who was more than just a teacher throughout his working career. Mr. Gibson was a lawyer for twenty years and taught in the Bronx for three years as well. He had the opportunity to teach a variety of different grade levels such as elementary school, middle school, high school as well as special education classes. Currently, he is teaching biology to autistic students in Eastchester High School. Although I learned a lot through the first interview of Mr. Cole, I was able to compare the ideas of both of these completely different teachers in order to gather advice in which I believe is important to look at and think towards in order to move further into the career itself. While Mr Cole answered questions more to the point and direct, Mr Gibson went around the general idea and became more involved with the idea of motivation within the classroom. I connected and learned well from both teachers but Mr Gibson, due to his experience in the field, really helped me understand what is needed in order to take part in the field of education. I decided to apply 3 strategies that I felt would help me support and met my goal.
