A similar quality of analysis is offered for the Edwardian Reformation. Haigh does not believe the second reformation is the destruction of Catholicism. A prime example is the Earl of Somerset known as Edward Seymour. Haigh argues Somerset implemented the Chantries act in 1547 because of the debts England had incurred from the war in Scotland.
