...different types of people, the winners and the losers. Webster’s dictionary defines a winner as someone or something or wins a prize or a contest. To some extent I think that’s true, but in my opinion a true winner is a person who never loses but only gets beat from time to time. Eventually, winning becomes almost second nature to someone who is a true winner. It becomes all they know how to do, but a true winner never loses. I know if you’re reading this you’re probably thinking that there is no possible way that if a person competes that he will never lose, but it is possible. You see a true winner is someone who might get beat from time to time, but he never loses....

...y z zinc WHY WINNERS WIN INTRO 2. Who are these winners? Are indls born winners? No winners are not born they are made. Recent researches on the winners conducted by Stanford institute concluded that only 12% of our success depends on knowledge and technical skills and 88% on positive attitude, enthusiasm, persistence and determination 3. Why do winners only win? What is that quality that separates a winner from a loser? Can everybody win? This brings me to various types of people. There are four kinds of people in this world. They are:- (a) Who watch things happen. (b) Who simply wonder what has happened. (c ) Who criticize what has happened. (d) Who makes things happen. 4. Winners are the people who make things happen. They have strong desire to achieve and they achieve what they desired. Someone said that all men are created equal, but it is what they do afterwards that makes the difference. Winners believe that every cloud has a silver lining. Some thing good can come out from every situation 5. I will tell you a story of a rich man who wanted to asses his two sons. To one of them he gave a pile of presents and the other a pile of cow dung. The one with the gifts started complaining about the missing gifts, but the second one sold the cow dung and started a business. The second boy is a winner; he felt that some thing...

...KINE 728 Glenn Schachtner Spring 2015 What Makes Winners Win Assignment 2Winners It seems that the human race is always drawn to the winner or what they view a success. I certainly have never met anyone that wanted to be a non-winner. I do however feel that there are very real differences in the preparation given to people that are successful and those that are not. I do believe that when people become frustrated or tired of working hard (not dedicated) and not achieving success they can and will, with a lot of dedication and a little bit of knowledge a person can easily change their life and become a winner. There are several factors that separate winners from the otherwise normal person. The winner type of personality is driven. That is they will not settle for less that the best from themselves or others. They will not take no for an answer when it comes to commitment to excellence. Winners take responsibility for themselves and their destiny. They feel that they are in control of what they can be in control of. They do not blame situations or others for their hard times. They hold themselves accountable to themselves and others. Winners do understand the power in knowledge and are constantly challenging themselves to get better. They create new ways to learn. Winners think positively. They have a plan to correct bad thinking, and bad performance. They do know how to focus and refocus to a winner mentality. Winners set measurable constant goals. They understand...

...In America competition is in our everyday lives. Even if it is competing with someone else or yourself it is still considered competition. People are always trying to be the better person. Take politics for example when America is trying to pick a new president there is a competition to see who can win the people’s votes. What makes competition happen every day is because it is in our blood, competition can improve who we are, and competitions defines winners and losers. First of all it is actually in our blood and as humans we like to make ourselves be number one or the best of the best. As Catherine Latterell wrote in her essay “ Competition is part of human nature”(204). There is a saying for it and it is Survival of the fittest. The strongest will be the one to survive if they are more suitable to their environment then their opponents. Here is a good example and it is about an American sport called football. If we had the Miami Dolphins flying to somewhere like New York to play the Jets in the snow most likely the Dolphins are going to lose because they do not normally play in snow because of Florida’s environment is mostly tropical climates. In the story “ We Can Work It Out: The Beatles’ Creative Competition” written by Bruce Glassman says “The major dynamic of this early partnership was now becoming clear.” It was, more than anything, creativity based on competition. Neither writer wanted to be outdone by the others.”(223). These two song composers worked together and...

...Are you a winner? This training course is called English for Winners, and before you delve into it, we should find out together if it is for you. Do you want to be a winner? Most English learners are unhappy with their English ability. If you ask the average English learner to assess their skills, you're very likely to get one of these answers: "I studied English at school for more than 5 years, but my English is not so good." "I speak a little English, but I think it's just 'school English'." "I understand it a little, but I can't speak it fluently." "My grammar is very bad. I've often tried to learn the grammar rules, but they're too complicated for me." "I had good school grades in English but I still can't speak it very well." These are typical complaints, and they make it clear that very few learners are really happy with the quality of their English. Most of them realize that their efforts are not yielding the results they expect. But instead of changing their strategy and trying to find the right learning methods and techniques, they simply give up. They think that they "just don't have a talent for learning languages". The winners, however, are those English learners who have taken control of their own programs. They know that acquiring English is an ongoing process. It is something that happens every day, day in and day out. They also understand that when it comes to learning English any progress is success. ©EnglishForWinners, Page 1 of 34 Dear Listener, since you...

...future competitors (Slack and Lewis, 2011). In business, the discernment of end users requirements is based on understanding the order-qualifiers and also to understand the order winners that earn a customer allegiance. According to Jaller and Ullstrom (2008) argued that the order-qualifiers theory and the order-winners theory is an avenue to investigate market request, also associate it with the core business processes and to ensure that the business wealth is used for highly rated business activities. Order winner and order qualifier are jointly time and market driven (Helms, 2006). So what is order-winners and order-qualifiers? In 2008, Jaller and Ullstrom defined Order qualifier as the least features that a business or the business merchandise must exhibit before it is seen as a possible seller or merchant (Jaller and Ullstrom 2008). Order qualifiers are those intrinsic traits that the buyer expects to see in the product before taking into account to buy them. These traits can also been known as bait that lure the end users to consider the product. While order winner is defined as those distinct traits that will triumph in the bid or make the business superior than their opponent (Jaller and Ullstrom 2008). Order winner also stem from an operation goal of a business when its takes the most advantage of what only it can offer to its customer or they are very few in the business that can offer such advantages to the end user. In my organisation (CNR) for instance during pipe purchase...

...English 102 B64 3 February 2, 2014 Comparative Fiction Essay In many ways the most influential element of a work of literature can prove to be the characters that the author creates. In the instance of Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery” and D. H. Lawrence’s “The Rocking Horse Winner” the characters are built and the story is wrapped around the individual characterizations. In both Jackson’s and Lawrence’s short stories the reader is allowed to assume any of the possible details to fill in the missing parts of the story. It is not until the end that the reader understands that the characters were giving away the ending the throughout the story. Along with the relationships established, the dialogue and simply executed actions of the main characters the story begins to unfold. The family and friends that are closest to the main character tends to make the story. In both cases of “The Lottery” and “ The Rocking Horse Winner” the extras of the short stories help to reveal the main characters real attitude, honest behavior, and their transparent emotions. In “The Lottery” it is evident that the characters closest to the main character can easily fall in line with the rest of society; in “The Rocking Horse Winner” family and friends can do all they can to help and still not be enough. In “The Lottery”, Jackson begins by setting the up the events that will inevitable come to pass. A few characters are introduced towards the beginning but who they are is not as important as their actions...

To answer the question at a logical standpoint yes, every conflict does have a winner to some extent, but when you really look at it from an internal standpoint does not have a winner. In the stories "Amigo Brothers", "Two Kinds", and one of my own stories , have conflict that can make you pick either side of the argument. So, does every conflict have a winner? The short story "The Amigo Brothers" is an ambitious story which has different types of conflict. "The Amigo Brothers" is a story about two friends that have a fight arranged against each other. ...“Order winner and order qualifier are criteria defined by managers within their operation strategy plan to gain competitive advantage in the market”(Encyclopedia of Business, 2nd Ed.) Order Winners and qualifiers are used to measure and to assure managers in relation to the products or services that they provide. Order winners are issues that directly and significantly help products win orders in the marketplace. People buying the product or service regard such factors as key reasons for buying or using the product or service. An Order qualifier is the characteristic of a companies product or service which are set in order for a customer to consider the product or service for either purchase or use. The Order winner is what we would consider as the winning factor, giving that extra factor to win the customer or service over that of other competitors. Companies must provide qualifiers to enter the given market and become equally as good as the competitors in order to keep sales and service levels before being able to enter with a winner in order to be that one step above another competitor. “The success of a company depends greatly on Order-winner factor“ (Slack, Lewis 2008). It is one of the most important issues that pushes and persuades people to take or use a product or service from a company. The order winner issue tends to be at the top of the list for companies and the managers that make these strategic plans, because it seems to benefits the given company...

...effectively all the returns are concentrated in a few big winners, and (2) that the best ideas look initially like bad ideas. The first rule I knew intellectually, but didn't really grasp till it happened to us. The total value of the companies we've funded is around 10 billion, give or take a few. But just two companies, Dropbox and Airbnb, account for about three quarters of it. In startups, the big winners are big to a degree that violates our expectations about variation. I don't know whether these expectations are innate or learned, but whatever the cause, we are just not prepared for the 1000x variation in outcomes that one finds in startup investing. That yields all sorts of strange consequences. For example, in purely financial terms, there is probably at most one company in each YC batch that will have a significant effect on our returns, and the rest are just a cost of doing business. [1] I haven't really assimilated that fact, partly because it's so counterintuitive, and partly because we're not doing this just for financial reasons; YC would be a pretty lonely place if we only had one company per batch. And yet it's true. To succeed in a domain that violates your intuitions, you need to be able to turn them off the way a pilot does when flying through clouds. [2] You need to do what you know intellectually to be right, even though it feels wrong. It's a constant battle for us. It's hard to make ourselves take enough risks. When you interview a startup...
