The movie Speak a coming of age drama. The most famous actor in the movie is Kristen Stewart. She plays Melinda, the main character of the movie and the character with the most screen time. One might also know Steve Zahn who starred in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid Series as Greg Heffley’s father . Kristen played the main character, Melinda Sordino, while Zahn played the part of the art teacher. The movie is based on the book Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson.
One of the best aspects about the movie was the acting. Kristen Stewart is a great actor and she fits the role very well. She plays the part of a young teenage girl perfectly. There were many questions at the end of the movie that were not answered such as what ever happened with that boy that

To what extent are the expectations we form from watching movies affecting our dating habits: friends with benefits The high extent of how powerful the media affects society’s habits and forms ideals for interaction seems as if the television is controlling the way society interrelate. The media creates false expectations for the rest of society. It’s the false accounts- the fictional stuff- that sells but also becomes the expectation in real life as society models the behaviors from the movies. It is a paradoxical concept that the entertainment industry creates movies with actors in roles that need to be exaggerated in order to sell; this obviously implies that the lifestyles portrayed on the television are not representations of the average person’s life. However, when viewers- normal people- watch these television roles, these false lives are assumed to be the norm for real-life so that creates a false system in which we approach interpersonal relationships, such as in dating. Romantic realism deals with creating stories of high-level stimulation, not something boring to bring a movie to life, etc. Unfortunately, this influence from the media and the humane aspect that we are never fully satisfied with what we have are vast contributions for the increase of friends with benefits in contemporary dating culture. The My Lai Massacre during the Vietnam War was a result of a war tactic that continues to be utilized today: racism and dehumanization of the enemy. This strategy, employed by the Armed Forces and facilitated by the media back on American soil has proven to be dangerous in that it causes both soldiers and civilians to treat an entire group as subhuman and unworthy of empathy. We can see this in the My Lai Massacre and through the persistent hare crimes against Muslims during the United States’ current “war on terror.” On March 16 1968, 140 men of the American Charlie Company entered the village of My Lai and were ordered to kill whoever they saw. There was the belief that the province of Quang Ngai where My Lai was located was a stronghold for Vietcong guerillas. After increasing frustration with losing their soldiers and not progressing in the war as much as they’d like, the group took their anger out on what was thought was a village of Vietcong enemies. It was the first chance they had to meet the enemy face to face instead of through grenades and booby traps and finally get even. Lieutenant William L.
