Is going to college worth it? The importance of college can be a very controversial topic. People either see college as the key to a successful life or not necessary. I'm here to tell you college is worth it completely. College comes with the benefits of financial stability and much more job opportunities.

Starting off, having college experience can result in you earning more than someone, with a high school diploma as their highest education level. Stated in the article, "Actually, College is Very Much Worth It, college graduates earn more and are more likely to have a job in the first place" It has also been proved that "the income of someone that only earned a high school diploma was $35,615, while the income for those with a bachelor's degree was $65,482 and $92,525 for those with advanced degrees," stated in Christian Yang's, "DON'T Drop out to do a Startup". Not only will you get more money by achieving the lowest college education level, bachelor's, but the longer you stay and climb for the next level the more you'll be earning.

As stated in,"12 Business Founders Who Succeeded without a College Degree", "the following successful people either never enrolled in college or never completed their college degrees: Richard Branson; Charles Culpepper, owner, and CEO of Coca-Cola; Ellen Degeneres,...". Although those people are very successful and didn't need college, I wouldn't look upon them and try to follow in their footsteps because, there is a small chance you end up with their same circumstance. On the other hand, college can be very reliable for success.

In conclusion, college should be strived for because it's importance is very high in order to be financially stable and have more job

Argumentative Essay: Is College Worth The Money?

...These six graduates agree that college tuition is expensive and are worried about the accumulated debt they have acquired at the start of their careers. Many of them are also looking for traditional jobs within their field and hoping to begin repaying their student debt. While they may agree on these points, the question remains, is college worth the money? While the six graduates agree that college is expensive they disagree on its’ worth. Student 1 believes, “Because of the high price, for many that I’ve met, the luxury of four years at an elite school to ‘find yourself’ sometimes isn’t as immediately justifiable, particularly when a high school grad has the life skills and confidence to enter the working world” (pg. 110). This student finds...

...Is a higher education worth the price of admission ? Unemployment in the United States has been a pertinent issue for the last couple years, and has been perceived as a top priority on Congress’ political agenda. The question remains as to how future generations should prepare themselves moving forward, with regards to their career plans. In other words, how economically sound is it to invest in a higher education. I have decided to explore this topic from different angles. Obviously, the main concern with institutions of higher learning, is financial debt. According to Sam Frizell’s article, “Student Loans are Ruining Your Life. Now They’re Ruining the Economy, Too”, students in the United States are “well over $1trillion in debt, and its starting to hurt everyone.” The reason for this increasing debt, is the result of increasing tuition costs of colleges and universities. Many students who are saddled with an exorbitant amount of debt, are taking longer to pay off their education costs. This issue not only affects the individual trying to pay off his debt, but also adversely affects the economy as a whole, since if students have less money as a result of paying debts, that is less money they will be spending on services and goods. This concept of higher education negatively affecting the economy, goes against conventional wisdom. Obviously, education is generally seen to be vital for the economy, and it is. As Noah Berger and Peter Fisher mention in their article “A...

...high school teens are wrapping up. It’s time to prepare for the next big step in life. College the first time to get a true taste of want the world has to offer. The big thing that most young minds don’t see in there picture perfect world is that thin underlining. That underlining is the cost of college and how it waits until you finish to hit you where it hurts. I’m talking about your wallet and even your college savings. This leads me to the question of why is college tuition so high. Is attending college worth the price tag of tuition? If you didn’t already know then I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but spoiler alert you have to pay for college a year after you finish college. The price of college has gone from affordable to sky-high in the last decade and even more so this year. (“If you want to get an earful about paying for college, listen to parents from states where tuition and fees have skyrocketed in the last five years. In Arizona, for example, parents have seen a 77 percent increase in costs. In Georgia, its 75 percent, and in Washington state, 70 percent. Even in Oklahoma, where tuition increases have been among the lowest in the nation, parents are dismayed. In Stillwater, Okla., Jeffery Corbett's daughter is attending community college. Corbett, a fundraiser for a nonprofit, says a high school diploma just won't get you very far. And he knows; he doesn't have a college degree. "I think about it all the time, because I realize [how] it has limited me, by...

Are Colleges Worth the Price of Admission

...Summary: “Are Colleges Worth the Price of Admission?” by Andrew Hacker and Claudia Dreifus, presents proposals “that might begin to set things right’ (TSIS, 180) in education. Both professors, Hacker and Dreifus, studied institutions and interviewed higher education leaders, policy makers, and students across the country (180). According to their voluntary assignment, they acknowledged at first, their belief that “all Americans can do college work,” which basically provided a thesis for every proposal to follow within their article. Suggestions, such as persuading students to liberate their imagination instead of just focusing on a financial goal after graduating, or “replacing tenure with multi-year contracts” (181) so that all professors begin to take more initiative to improve, gave way to a deeper analysis of specific colleges and their priorities. My Response: In the article, “Are Colleges Worth the Price of Admission?” by Andrew Hacker and Claudia Dreifus, both professors maintains a perspective that is convincing, to a degree. “We believe all Americans can do college work, so universal enrollment should be our nation’s goal” (180). Of course everyone should have the same opportunity to be accepted at the collegiate level, but there are several problems that have to be addressed and taken care of prior to the suggestion of this desire for all. If there was universal enrollment, will that lead to...

His views on college are extremely appropriate as by attending college, students learn to develop their will power to help them focus on their perspectives and goals.
