...should be applied to the paparazzi. I wanted to see how much the press and media have access to the celebrities. Celebrities are just people like us, and they need their privacy. Sometimes you’ll see some really personal in magazines that you will say to yourself “how do they know that?”. I chose this because i want to see the paparazzi can push a celebrity and how much they can learn from the scandals and the relationship problems. I limited my research to just what the paparazzi should be limited on and why. I’ll get most of my research from interviews, magazines, and some websites. I’ll try to interview some people from the press and ask them questions like “ how much of these peoples lives do you know about “and “ do you think there should be some limits on how much you can know about these people”. I’ll see if i can get some interviews of people who have already interviewed drama filled celebrities like Brittany Spears and "the always in the fighting mood" Chris Brown. I want to find out how far the paparazzi is limited, if any at all, and see why they should be limited. I’ll learn how to make a website and how interviews work and the skill behind them. What will mostly interest me will is when i can find out the future affects the paparazzi will have on the media. With the media being the most useful source of info for the people, the paparazzi could have more power...

...The Annoyance/Dangers of the Paparazzi Would you like if people were constantly bombarding you with cameras? Lets say you’re enjoying a nice meal with your family and then suddenly a group of “photographers” come up and just start snapping an endless amount of photos and there’s nothing you can do about it. The so-called “photographers” that I’m talking about are called the paparazzi. The paparazzi first started with a man named Ron Galella, nicknamed America’s first paparazzo. Galella’s first target was actor Marlon Brando; he began harassing Brando one day telling him to take of his glasses for a photo. Brando wasn’t playing his games, not only did he refuse, but he also punched Galella, knocking out five teeth. (Talese 97) Yes, what Marlon Brando did was a little excessive, but in his defense you shouldn’t bombard people with your camera, giving them orders and whatnot, it’s called common courtesy. The paparazzi have gotten way out of control over the years, yes, they have a job, but there should be limits. Of course, the paparazzi see it differently. They have little concern for celebrity’s privacy. The way they see it, is they have a job to do and money to earn. They believe celebrities like being photographed, but they pretend they don’t. They also believe they’re making celebrities more famous, therefore successful. (94) I’m almost positive celebrities do not enjoy getting their pictures taken, as for saying they pretend, well that’s just right stupid. For example...

...numerous examples of brand blunders in marketing history; there are also numerous urban legends surrounding brand blunders, where there is little evidence of an actual blunder. TRUE CASES An April 2002 Starbucks ad featured twin cups of their Tazo drinks with the caption "Collapse into cool" and an airborne dragonfly, imagery and wording which reminded many of the recent 9/11 attacks. Though the ads were created before the attacks and the resemblance was coincidental, the company apologized and pulled the posters. A 1997 direct mailer from Weight Watchers featuring Sarah Ferguson with a caption stating that losing weight was "harder than outrunning the paparazzi." appeared in mailboxes in the days before and following the death of Princess Diana, an incident in which paparazzi were at the time suspected to have played a role. The company quickly pulled the ads. In 2006 Sony had a limited Dutch billboard campaign promoting the then-upcoming arrival of the white PlayStation Portable by featuring a black woman and white woman with respectively colored clothing and hair in confrontational poses. After accusations of racism, Sony pulled the ads. In 2008, Greyhound Canada hastily pulled the slogan "There's a reason you've never heard of 'bus rage.'" after Tim McLean was murdered and beheaded by fellow passenger Vince Weiguang Li aboard a bus in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. A Nike ad on Oscar Pistorius' website used the...

...When Hip-Hop first emerged in the late 1970s it was far from the thriving genre we know today. It’s origins stem into some of the poorest areas of New York and most prolifically the Bronx’s. The cultural art form was developed by mostly African American and Latino Teenagers as a musical outlet from the turmoil and hardship of their daily lives. The art form first heavily relied on having a prolific DJ to match the rapper often referred to as MC’s, focusing on the two to quickly connect and be in sync with each other was crucial. The most notable of these “founding fathers” of the art form that developed it into what it is today, Grand Master Flash and the Furious 5 who used revolutionary techniques of mixing beats and other songs together...

...soldiers? Should professional footballers be paid more than soldiers? I don’t think so! Soldiers fight for your country and get paid a pittance and while these air head professional footballer just kick a football around and for this they get paid far much more than soldiers. John Smith was 18 years old when he joined the confederate army in 1996, he was a strong, sophisticated young man, and joining the army changed his life in many ways. After experiencing life on the battle field he saw things differently, he watched young children lose their lives, which was a big eye opener for him. He believed that being in the army and helping save families, homes, towns, children and animals was a big part of his life. After two years in the army he never ever got seriously injured, until that day. Trudging across the battlefield to go and save one of his friends, he got hit by an ak47, which instantly took him down, severing one of his arms, gushing out gallons of blood leaving him, not knowing if his life would be taken from him. He was awarded the bravest soldiers award because his two legs and one arms were blown off whilst he was on normal every day duties in Afghanistan. A Solider gets paid a mere pittance of less than £2,000 a week even when they risk losing limbs, with which they have to live for the rest of their lives. On the other hand, the life of a footballer seems very easy. They wake up at any time and they train for approximately 1 hour a day or 3 hours a week. They only...

...delicious surprise. The only thing lacking in Sarah's business was a stable yet sturdy business plan. The investors definitely wanted to help her, but the risk was far too high. As we all know, to have a successful business you have to have a successful business plan or you will crumble. The second entrepreneur was James Ambler who is the owner of Paparazzi Proposals. They go around capturing the perfect moment of a marriage proposal. He was seeking a $250,000 investment for twenty percent equity in his company. He explained to the panel that he wants to expand his business to cities other than just New York. The investors gave him helpful advice on how to go about the expansion and all recommended to first saturate his current market, New York City, and then go on to other destinations. Three of the “sharks” simply told him they don't see the need for that amount of money because the company isn't worth that much. Laurie was very interested but was wanting a bigger piece of the pie, because she felt like she could show him how to move the business into extreme success. Out of the last three investors, they all decided to give him a portion of what he was asking with thirty three percent of the business. Lori and Kevin decided to partner giving him $50,000 for thirty three percent and loaning the rest when he needed it....

...players should get paid the amounts they do when their job is not as worthwhile and life threatening as other jobs like soldiers and doctors. Currently the top ten players in the world earn between $15million to $50million a year, compare this with normal jobs where people earn $32,000 a year. The highest earning player is David Beckham who earns approximately $966,000 per week, working out to be $50 million per year (Kaitlin Madden). The only way to control the salaries of soccer players is for the soccer bodies such as UEFA and FIFA to put a cap on the amount of money a team is allowed to spend on player wages. No countries currently have a cap although Italian soccer teams had looked into it a few years ago but never went through with it. A cap system would not only lower wages but would ensure fairness between all the teams in a league. It is hard to justify these soccer players getting paid so much when they no longer seem to have any passion for the game. When players are representing their country playing for the national team many no longer sing the national anthem when it is being played before the game unlike the rugby players who sing there national anthem with such pride. It seems that soccer players are now only in it for the money and they don’t even care about winning cups or medals anymore. An example of this is a soccer player called Lucas Neil who when it came to choosing which club he was going to play for he chose to go and play for West Ham, even though he was...

...You are no stranger to the paparazzi. You grew up around the withering gaze of the public simply because of who your parents are. After all, you are the eldest and only son of Oliver and Katherine Wood. Unless, someone had been living under a rock all of their lives, they knew that Oliver and Katie had previously played for Puddlemere United. It was simply assumed that quidditch was in their blood. People made assumptions about you from the time you were a lad because of who your parents were. However, you and your siblings weren't raised to be entitled. You didn't grow up with a silver spoon in your mouth either. Actually, your parents resided in muggle London. In a neighborhood that had muggle and wizarding families cohabiting with one another...

I had started hearing rumors that Hunter Avery was getting married, but that clashed with him bring Jenny Morse as his special date for the evening. Things were starting to look as if Hunter and Jenny must have been in a secret relationship and Paulette Hensley was only a friend of Hunter to throw everyone off the track. It actually made perfect sense. By how all the lawyers at the office freaking out by the mere mention of the Hensley name, what reporter would think to dig too deep or paparazzi look to take a money shot that they couldn’t sell to a high school newspaper. More than likely, they...

...responsibilities, drones may be able to reach currently inaccessible points of high altitude using a high resolution cameras in order to survey land areas. By being able to perform these tasks, drones are able to assist with “search-and-rescue operations, wild fire control, managing threatened natural areas, mapping the spread of invasive species, and monitoring remote park locations” (Dolesh). Specific drone applications vary in regards to the types of technologies each drone possesses. For example, “Vapor” drones have thermal imaging capability that allows an obstructed view through obstacles such as walls, trees, smoke, and darkness (Preble). These types of drones are used during search-and-rescue operations. An example of this capability is when three Oregon State University students became lost during a hike and the “Vapor” drone sent visible light photos back to a laptop where rescuers were directed to find and save these hikers (Preble). Professor Marselus of Liberty University raves about drone technology utilized in unsafe situations such as, “fighting the wildfires of Arizona, aiding law enforcement on dangerous missions, and exploration of radiation zones in Fukushima, Japan” (Preble). This minimizes human risk by allowing remote navigation and control. For example, “Terrestrial” drones such as remotely operated robots have long been used by police for initial investigations of possible bomb threats. According to Gregory McNeal, an expert in law and policy, “unmanned aerial...

...Lady Gaga BSAD 685: Services Marketing Byron Emerson 06/09/2012 Summary: Lady Gaga, an artist that was finally getting a break and beginning to make a name for herself in this hectic, vicious shark tank Americans call the music industry, had a very tough decision to make for her upcoming tour. Her singles, visuals and social responsibility were major drivers to her building success and she was becoming very marketable as far as image goes. The public accepted her amazing voice, talented dancing, and loved how active she was in communities around the world. It attracted the idea to co-headline a tour with one of the most influential and pioneering sound and figure in urban music. The best of both worlds would tour the world and sell out venues. It was a perfect match because both were monster names, well-known in fashion, complete opposites, but complemented one another in such an artistic way. Kanye West has been known for his public outbursts and arrogance towards the media/paparazzi when his life spiraled with the sudden death of his mother, Donda West. Even though it was a half-decade ago, Kanye was also still repairing his image for his outburst on MTV in 2005. West, stood along-side with Mike Myers in a relief campaign on national television and uttered “George W. Bush doesn’t care about Black people.” This was in response that the then President and federal relief team reacted to Hurricane Katrina in a form that didn’t seem efficient. Fast forward to the 2009...

Foller the horses, Johnny me laddie, Oh lad lye away me canny lad oh! --Old Collier’s Rant Kate’s Great-Great-Great-Great-Grandparents, James and Jane Harrison “Whoa there, girl, steady as ye go now, Charlotte. This is the last trip o’ the day. That’s a good girl. C’mon now.” James Harrison patted the pony’s thick neck and coughed. He tried to breathe deeply, but instead of filling his lungs with air, he wheezed and coughed some more. He leaned just a little on the tired Welsh pony straining to pull a wagon of heavy coal. She matched the bandy-legged man’s steps as he gently tugged at her harness and spoke to her with kindness in his voice. The copper-toned beast’s coal-smudged withers twitched as she at batted flies with her tail. A pick swung from the extended arm of a small blackened figure next to the narrow tracks on which the wagon rolled. Its tip nearly missed James’ foot. “Hey there now, watch where ye be landin’ that.”...
