...Whitner Autoplex name RES341 instructor Whitner Autoplex Whitney Autoplex is an auto sales company that is faced with an issue in sales with foreign and domestic vehicles. Foreign sales on average are higher than domestic vehicles. Depending on the age groups, price and type of vehicle, sales can be tracked to better understand any problems that can exist. On domestic vehicles there is a fluctuation in sales according to age and price. The overall prices of foreign vehicles are much lower than their domestic counterpart. The purpose of the data sheet research is to understand why there is a huge gap of sales between foreign and domestic vehicles, 3/8 of the sales being domestic and the left over 5/8 on foreign sales. On domestic vehicle sales were high on ages 41 and up, where as in foreign vehicles there is no bias in sales by age. According to the data sheet domestic vehicle sale prices range from 35,925 and the mid 20,000, with one sale being fewer than 20,000. The research is important to find out where problems exist in sales on domestic or foreign vehicles. Is the problem the price, age group, or the fact of domestic verses foreign vehicles? What can be done to help overall sales for the company? Is it better for the company to focus on one type over to another? *Now there is a lot to consider when selling a car. This data can be used to a company advantage very easily. The data establishes a trend in car sales. It proves that there are bigger and more...

...Whitner Autoplex The car dealership Whitner Autoplex sells both domestic and foreign cars. The probability of how many imported cars that are sold versus the number of domestic cars that were sold at the lot can be determined by many factors. This includes the prices that the vehicles are being sold at, which can affect the outcome because of the varying amounts of what people are willing to pay. The age of the buyer can also play a role in which type of car they purchase because of style preferences, and what they can afford to buy; or even what they think they can afford to buy. With the economy being where it is right now, most people are also looking at the benefits that the car may offer, such as having low gas mileage. The hypothesis test will determine the percentage of imported cars sold at the dealership. In the conclusion, the hypothesis will either be accepted or rejected after determining the actual probability. The level of significance to be used for this calculation is .05 or 95% confidence level. Numerical Hypothesis X1: Selling price in dollars X2: Selling price in thousands of dollars X3: Age of buyer X4: 0=Domestic, 1=Imported 80 Autos Sold Ho- p= .5 (The true hypothesis should be that out of the 80 cars that were sold, 40 of them should be imported cars.) Ha- p < .5 or p > .5 (The actual statement states that out of the 80 cars sold, the number of imported cars will either be less than 40 or more than 40.) Verbal Hypothesis The percentage...

...Whitners Autoplex Prices Differ from the National Average Team D RES 341 April 18, 2012 Dr. Leroy Paul Whitners Autoplex Prices Differ from the National Average Intro Research Process Consumers purchase new vehicles for many reasons: practicality, functionality, or as a status symbol. Trying to fill that need, Whitners Autoplex is an auto dealer that sells import and domestic automobiles (Lind, Marchal & Wathen, 2008). Buyers, ages 20 to 59, have purchased vehicles at Whitners. Team D, after reviewing the provided data, knows that over the past couple years the car dealer’s average selling price for an automobile was $22,000. Team D’s null hypothesis states that the selling prices in the data set remain unchanged from the established $22,000 average. However, Team D has faith that its alternate hypothesis that the average has changed will prevail. The following will provide the purpose of the research, problem definition, research hypothesis, and a look ahead to the following weeks concerning the study. Using historic and current data, Team D intends to prove the $22,000 average price of a car has changed, and most likely increased due to many factors. If Team D’s alternate hypothesis proves true, then Whitners Autoplex has been charging far more less than surrounding, or even nationwide, auto dealers. Knowing the average cost of a vehicle is important to auto dealers because profit is what allows a business to prosper and grow...

...Data Collection Paper Team C RES/341 21March11 Sara Skowronski Data Collection Introduction Review of Literature The first peer-reviewed article was showing how in the 1950s, SUV’s (sport utility vehicle) sales increased tremendously with baby boomers. People were in need of larger vehicles to accommodate their entire family. This was not just for domestic vehicles this also included foreign vehicle. With so many people interested in purchasing the SUV’s, this led to other car companies designing more comfortable, larger vehicles. Another peer-reviewed article was in regards to the searching strategies people used before actually purchasing a new vehicle. Not everyone can walk into a dealership and know exactly what they are looking for in their price range and it is readily available. That is why most people before purchasing a vehicle use a strategy before purchasing. Not everyone’s search strategies are the same, not everyone is looking for the exact type of vehicle. Some automobile companies sent out surveys to some of their customers for a 3 month span to see how satisfied they were with the new vehicles and what the new vehicle may not have had that the consumer would have liked. When the surveys were returned they categorized the responses to see where improvements could be made to accommodate more people. The next peer-reviewed article pertained to how well auto incentives increase business. This article was in...

...Introduction In this paper the authors will analyze the Whitner AutoPlex data using descriptive statistics. Team D will use these statistics to calculate the measures of central tendency, dispersion, and skew the data. Team D will also display the descriptive data using graphic and tabular techniques. A frequency distribution tablet and a histogram style graph will illustrate the Whitner AutoPlex data set in measuring terms. Based on skew value and histogram, a discussion of the best measures between central tendency, and dispersion will be included. Central Tendency, Dispersion and Skew The best measures of the central tendency and dispersion data are that by seeing how the order of our information tends to be that the older the consumer the cheaper are the vehicles purchased by them. With this data we can market our sales to the younger consumer because he or she tends to spend more. The tendency in this could be because older people value their money a bit more and are less willing to spend it as much as younger individuals. As a result we can look to market our advertising to a younger audience and design items that a younger audience would be willing to buy and spend money on. By using this data we should be able to maximize profits while attracting a more diverse spectrum of customers at the same time. We can continue to produce items for the population interested in purchasing currently. Information gathered from a whisker box graph shows the same age grouping...
