...Caring For Future; Reforming Care and Support By [Author Name] [Institute Name] [Date] 1. Introduction Health law and policy making in the region of UK have been identified in a structural way with the functionalities provided by National Health Service (NHS) since the year 1948. There has been an access point of free access and being highlighted in a positive manner, clinical ideas and formulations have emerged as a greater tendency of force. There have been multiple changes implied and influences to the NHS structure over the course of time (Beresford, 2013). Since the 1970s however, the policy has been strictly related with the management of ever increasing requirement of resources and how to take into consideration multiple distinctions in population demands, availability of services and their qualitative comprehension across the region (Beresford, 2013). An array amount of measurements have been implied to target the distinctions including, in the most recent times, an enhanced implication of mechanisms that are market induced. Staffing requirements in the NHS have always considered it difficult to carry out a prediction and the accounts of professional staffing mechanisms have always signified between a surplus and shortage. Such alterations have occurred in a substantial manner against a background of rising expenses, along with NHS providing a spending amount of national income share in a doubled manner since 1948 (Beresford, 2013). The conventional focus...

...According to (Dinan, 2013), politicians could use the money raised from a carbon tax to bring down federal budget losses, to minimize current minor tax rates, or to reimburse the people who would receive an unequal portion of the cost of the carbon tax. All of those uses would have different results. Generally, these solutions on how to handle the money raised from the tax would not encourage reasons for businesses and households to reduce emissions that could be reached at a price below that of the tax. An exception would appear if households or companies received payment that was linked to their expenditure of fuels. In that case, using more fuels would raise their payment, discouragement incentives to stop the emissions (Dinan,...

...‘’Where is the Pastoral Tradition in Keats’ Ode to a Nightingale?’’ Two hundred years after the Renaissance period in England, critics became concerned in the reasoning behind John Keats’s poetry. They searched many of the origins of the poet’s references to his works and this gave assistance into asserting that he was a poet in search of the ideal to escape from the real world of ‘’fever and fret’’. (Keats’ Ode to a Nightingale: stanza 3) This is due to the experience of cruel disappointments in his personal life. Ode to a Nightingale is a fine example of the cruel disappointments that Keats faced in life for he wrote the Ode soon after the death of his brother Tom who was suffering from tuberculosis. In one of Keats’s personal letters (Gittings 1970: letter 263) Keats claimed that he and his brothers could never count on any happiness lasting – that they were continually confronting death in the family. Keats shows this pain in stanza 3 of the poem: ‘’Here, where men sit and hear each other groan; Where palsy shakes a few, sad, last grey hairs, Where youth grows pale and spectre-thin, and dies;’’ (Keats’ Ode to a Nightingale: stanza 3) However, Ode to a Nightingale also portrays Keats’s escape from the cold realities of life. It is through this ‘escape’ that I am going to shape this essay into the pastoral tradition. My main focus shall be how the Ode offers a resemblance to a poem of pastoral retirement but has a pastoral elegy concealed within it. The...

...Introduction to Pastoral Theology (P7101B) Assessment 2 – Class Presentation DEFINITION OF MISSIO DEI What is ‘missio dei’? It is a Latin theological term, which literally means ‘the mission (or the sending) of God’. Although the concept is as old as the Bible itself, the theology of missio dei originated in an essay written by noted theologian Karl Barth in 1932. It did not gain wide acceptance until 1952, when it was presented at the Willingen Conference of the International Missionary Council Meeting. Throughout history, God has been working towards the restoration of His creation – this is the essence of missio dei. God has been calling on His people, from within and beyond the church, to take part in this ongoing mission to build His Kingdom on earth. David Bosch in ‘Transforming Mission’, defines missio dei as: “God the Father sending the Son, God the Father and the Son sending the Spirit, and the Father, Son and Holy Spirit sending the church into the world”. He goes on to state that, “Mission is not primarily an activity of the church, but an attribute of God. God is a missionary God. Mission is thereby seen as a movement from God to the world; the church is viewed as an instrument for that mission. There is church because there is mission, not vice versa. To participate in mission is to participate in the movement of God’s love toward people, since God is a fountain of sending...

But it’s a different world now. Markets and workforces are increasingly global and diverse. Change is so rapid that one leader can’t hope to keep abreast of all developments, much less be responsible for the innovation needed to keep ahead of them. Decision making is broadly distributed across an organization, and collaboration is required with numerous parties outside it. So it’s worth reexamining our image of the ideal business leader and how and where a person will acquire the attributes needed to become one. We may find that it’s through...

...time, many have attempted to develop detailed theories and studies of motivation, satisfaction, and self-awareness. Each of those theories at some point has been applied and tested as to its effects on people’s lives, jobs, and personal goals in life and in the work place. Due to my strong interest in the management fields specifically, I have decided to look into the different styles of motivation that managers and leaders of organizations within the financial industry typically use. After all, it has been said that one of the manager’s most basic tasks is to communicate with and motivate their workers (Ruthanakoot, 2003). It would be very difficult to try to pinpoint one theory or even one technique that seems to work better or is more effective for a certain organization. The way individuals respond to different motivational styles and techniques will often clash or contradict one another. Instead, what is important to realize, and what I will explore and...

...A Literature Review of Tinnitus Andrew Folz Rockhurst University Abstract Tinnitus is the perception of sound within the human ear when no actual sound is present. Tinnitus usually interpreted as a ringing sound that varies in frequency and loudness. There are many causes of tinnitus along with symptoms that are caused by tinnitus. Millions of people, primarily men, are affected with chronic tinnitus that usually leads to hearing loss. This literary review of Tinnitus will cover a current, basic knowledge of tinnitus, possible causes of tinnitus, conditions that may cause tinnitus, experiments involving mice to discover new findings in tinnitus research, and possible treatments that are currently being studied. Tinnitus is the perception of sound within the human ear when no actual sound is present. Though often unrecognized, tinnitus affects millions of people worldwide. Tinnitus is one of the most common physical symptoms. It affects 10-15% of the population at some point in their lives (Holmes and Padgham, 2009). Derived from the Latin word, “tinnire,” which means to ring, tinnitus is commonly experienced as high-pitched noise with mechanical, electrical, or musical qualities. The underlying pathophysiology of tinnitus is unclear. It seems unlikely there is a single underlying cause, but tinnitus may accompany almost any auditory dysfunction. Damage to the middle ear, cochlea, audiovestibular nerve, and cerebral pathways between the cochlear nucleus and primary auditory...

...At Stockholm , in 1972, during the first United Nations Conference on the Human Environment, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi famously remarked that poverty and unmet human needs are the worst kind of pollution and this holds its relevance in present time as well. The Planning commissions of India from its 1st Five year Plan to 13th Five year plan has been bringing into a variety of policies, recommendations and strategies through various development activities, to fight this chronic evil of Indian society. Its been a long tiring battle for the people of India, but a lot remains to be achieved. In a recent study in March 2012, the Indian Planning Commission stated that 29 percent of India’s population was poor. These were people who had less than Rs.22.42 (US $0.41) a day if they were living in villages, or Rs. 28.35 (US $0.52) if in a city. The Commission’s happy conclusion was that poverty had fallen from 37 percent since its last measurement in 2004-05. (Shrivastava and Kothari 2012). If even slightly...

...comes from 1:1. The Septuagint and Vulgate translators adopted this title. The Latin word for song is canticum from which we get the word Canticles, another title for this book. Some English translations have kept the title "Song of Songs" (e.g., NIV, TNIV), but many have changed it to "Song of Solomon" based on 1:1 (e.g., NASB, AV, RSV, NKJV). WRITER AND DATE Many references to Solomon throughout the book confirm the claim of 1:1 that Solomon wrote this book (cf. 1:4-5, 12; 3:7, 9, 11; 6:12; 7:5; 8:11-12; 1 Kings 4:33). He reigned between 971 and 931 B.C. Richard Hess believed the writer is unknown and could have been anyone, even a woman, and that the female heroine viewed and described her lover as a king: as a Solomon.1 How could Solomon, who had 700 wives and 300 concubines (1 Kings 11:3), be the same faithful lover this book presents? He could be if he became polygamous after the events in this book took place. That seems a more likely explanation than that he was polygamous when these events occurred and just omitted reference to his other loves. Probably he wrote the book before he became polygamous. We do not know how old Solomon was when he married the second time. The history recorded in Kings and Chronicles is not in strict chronological order. The Shulammite was probably not Pharaoh's daughter in view of references in the book (1 Kings 3:1; cf. Song of Sol. 4:8). One writer contended that she was Pharaoh's daughter.2 Another view is that "Shulammite" is simply the feminine...
