Code Talker, by Joseph Bruchac, is a story about a Navajo Indian, named Ned Begay, who goes into the military during World War II to develop and use a secret code based on the Navajo language. He was not allowed to tell anyone about this code. The Navajos trained with the Americans and fought with them. If Code Talker was told from Georgia Boy’s point of view, then it would be very different in ways like, he would become friends with a Navajo Indian who could not tell him why he was there, he would not have the hardships of being looked down on, and he would be treated like a normal American soldier.
