When Mookie throws the trashcan into Sal’s Pizzeria to prove a “point” it was uncalled for and disturbing. I remembered early on in the scene Sal let Mookie know that he saw him as his own son and Mookie goes and does something to make the stereotypes against certain groups valid. He had no business doing what he did because Sal was the one brutally erupted by Mookie’s friends who were being extremely obnoxious. Once the riots started in this film that is when the cinematography was most noticeable. Prior to the scene it was bright sunny days and torso up camera views. Once the scene started on the riot the camera angles changed and then it was a lot darker, the darkness was important partly because you could hardly tell what was going on.
