...by for themselves. The only concerns they have are paying their bills on time, taking care of their family, keeping their job, and being happy. People are contemplating the fact that they are just one person, and the changes they make won’t make a difference so why should it matter. (Savage) If this mind set of people changes then that one person will turn it to hundreds and thousands of people and differences in the environment will start to be seen. There are multiple different reasons on why you should care about the environment and what impacts it. Approximately 40% of deaths globally are cause by pollution, and the number of humans that are diagnosed with diseases from pollution are increasing. The more we are polluting our air, water, and soil, and degrading our environment the more the population is hurting. (Cornell) This chart shows deaths due to cardiovascular disease. This chart shows deaths attributable to solid fuel use. Where do pollutants come from? A clean environment is...

...on. What would you do next? Would you try the switch again? Did I flick it all the way first time? Then I would check to see if there was anything wrong with the electricity, by trying to turn on other lights in the house or looking to see if any electrical appliances were working. And so on and so forth until I found out why the light wasn't working. Do background research: The light doesn't come on the first time that I flick the switch. Based on experience I know a few potential causes of this observation, namely: faulty switch, no electricity, or burnt out light bulb. Using this background information I can then form a hypothesis as to why the light bulb didn't come on when I flicked the switch. Hypothesis: The light bulb didn't come on when I turned the switch because the light bulb has burnt out. Experiment: Take the old bulb and test it in a known working socket (at a neighbor's). Experiments should ideally have only two possible outcomes. Either they will support the hypothesis or disprove it. If the light doesn't work at my neighbor’s house then there is something wrong with the bulb. If it does then something else is causing the lack of light. Results: The old light bulb lights up when placed in a working socket at our neighbor’s house. Now we know that there is nothing wrong with that old bulb. But we still don't know why it didn't light in the first place. It's time to test another hypothesis. Hypothesis 2: The light bulb didn't come on because...

...Cost Improvement Timothy Vallin BUS 642 Business Research Methods & Tools Instructor: Donald Platine September 24, 2012 Introduction In this study, we will be focusing on restructuring and how it relates to cost improvement. This information has been investigated in order to gain a good knowledge on the importance of restructuring. In order to test this theory, I used random sampling of 20 different data reports relate to the issues that the company faces concerning expenditures, labor and necessary spending. Each month every section of the company has a major meeting and part of the meeting is to discuss the financial reports of the company. Many companies may not find this to be important but it is necessary for our company to do this to track spending. Companies typically do not discuss financials with everyone but they do with us because everyone is given a credit card and a budget for their particular section. We are able to access the other part of company’s financial documents if we want to use them as a tool to improve our budgets. What prompted me to do this is I started working for the company in the year of 2011. After working 5 months for the company, the employees received a letter stating that there will be pay cuts due to the government cutting funding for the program that we are in. There were many complaints from employees who have been there for many years. The employees complained stating that they were told the last pay cut they received would...

Here's some advice about how to describe them: * Try to write 4 paragraphs - introduction, summary of main points, 2 detail paragraphs. * For your summary paragraph, look at the "big picture" - what changes happened to all of the lines from the beginning to the end of the period shown (i.e. from the first year to the last). Is there a trend that all of the lines follow (e.g. an overall increase)? * You don't need to give numbers in your summary paragraph. Numbers are specific details. Just mention general things like 'overall...

...Marketing Business Plan I have chosen to do my marketing plan on water filtration systems in Mexico City, Mexico. I have spent some time in Mexico and believe that this is something they need dearly. While bottled water is available for purchase at any given store, I believe that a market exists for filtration systems that are installed directly within the home. Water filtration systems provide a wide scope of market coverage for different customer segments. High-end customer segments may want hardwired systems installed, while low-end customer segments may want filters that attach to faucets. I also believe that the individual house hold is an underserved or untapped market. Water is something that we use every day and the importance of clean drinking water is something that extends to every customer base. In resort towns like Cancun, people come from all over the world and are not accustom to the water quality in Mexico. Resorts already understand the importance of clean drinking water. We intend to branch out into the market of Mexico City, Mexico. Mexico is located directly south of the United States on the North American continent. The country of Mexico has numerous ports on both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. Some of the largest ports are Altamira (Atlantic), Lazaro Cardenas, and Manzanillo (Pacific). The current population of Mexico is estimated at 123,799,215 as of July 1, 2014. Since 1955 the population growth has ranged anywhere...

According to the London School of Economics, nine out of 10 teens who go online will view pornography. The Kaiser Family Foundation reports that 70 percent of those who viewed porn stumbled across it - many while innocently doing their homework - and had not been looking for it.The purveyors of hard-core porn are so fixated on creating addicts out of our sons and daughters that they have made it virtually impossible for children to escape their clutches.
