If I were to be invited to attend ASMSA, I think that it would be a much needed change. ASMSA is a place where being a nerd is embraced, not discriminated against. In my current school, being a smart kid is subject to criticism and everyone is competing to be the best. Helping someone understand something could have its consequences. As I have grown up, I have realized that not all teachers will always have the same patience and the knowledge to teach students that are not interested. ASMSA has teachers who are actually concerned with the knowledge that is filling the capacity of students’ brains. Attending ASMSA is a plus all in itself. This school is the best in the state, and it would be an honor to be invited at all. I feel like living…show more content… Studying at ASMSA, the other students wouldn’t treat you any differently just because of what’s in your head. Everyone is excited to learn about particular topics and the teachers actually care. Having classmates of diverse backgrounds being brought together, is something I feel that would be advantageous. Being surrounded by people who you can get help from if you need extra to understand a concept (like math, that stuff can get complicated!). Being from a small town like where I hail from, there is a limited variety of people and we all know each other… and have known each other for the past 11 years! I think that ASMSA would be the right place to continue my studies, because in my current school, everyone is fighting for a rank and most people don’t really care. At ASMSA everyone is advanced and I’ve never been in that kind of environment. It’s a little intimidating, I won’t lie, but it’d be nice to actually have a challenge.
