For the franchisor, offering a franchise arrangement means an easy access to capital formation brought about by the investments of franchisees (Om Sai Ram Center for Financial Management Research, 2006). Furthermore, it provides incremental income for the franchisor through royalty payments. Another advantage of the franchise concept is that it makes possible a faster expansion program for the franchisor supported by motivated distributors in the person of the franchisees (Om Sai Ram Center for Financial Management Research, 2006). The franchisees stand to benefit too from a franchise agreement. The franchisee gets to experience entrepreneurial autonomy using a proven concept, often with extensive recognition of the brand name (Om Sai Ram Center for Financial Management Research, 2006). The franchisee also benefits from the training programs provided by the franchisor, coupled with continuing supervision of the store. Although there are advantages to owning a franchise, franchisees are faced with disadvantages too. Decision-making is quite limited since the franchisee should follow the guidelines set by the franchisor (Om Sai Ram Center for Financial Management Research, 2006). Kings

...Should the Kings Stay In Sacramento? For many years, there has been an ongoing debate about moving the Sacramento Kings to Seattle and becoming the Supersonics. Although it may sound like a great idea, there are good and bad consequences that come with them moving or staying at either city. The reason for such a controversial debate revolves around money and fans. A group led by the investor Chris Hansen had a deal with the Kings owners with the idea of moving the team to Seattle. Once the idea became known by everyone, the debate grew. The cities of Seattle and Sacramento both want the NBA franchise for many reasons. Having an NBA franchise in Sacramento will help the economy and fans, and will keep the only professional sports team in Sacramento. The reason Seattle wants the Kings franchise is because it will benefit Seattle’s economy. The franchise will be playing the next couple of seasons in Key Arena, and, in the meantime, a new $490 million arena will be built in downtown Seattle. According to a column in the Bleacher Report, “The public will pay $200 million and that money will be paid back using ticket sales and rent money. If not, Hansen himself will be responsible” (Lingberg). Hansen is getting the public on his side by using them to get the Kings to come to Seattle. With the Kings becoming the Supersonics it will help boost Seattle’s economy by opening jobs at the new arena, the expenses that will be made at the arena, and all the Supersonic merchandise that will...

Should College Athletes Be Paid Essay

...Should College Athletes be Paid? Why should college athletes be paid or not? In this article it says, “Big time college football and basketball programs generate billions a year in TV and marketing contracts, tickets sales, and merchandising.” Why I choose this topic is because If the college players don't bring any money for the TV , tickets, and merchandising then that is wrong. They should, at least, have 10% of what they sell that has the player's last name on it .I am on the pro side why I am is because If a person buys an item that has something to do with them, then they should be paid a little amount of what the regular price is of the item. I am going to tell you a few Pros about college players getting paid. First of all, in the text it says, “ Big time college football and basketball programs generate billions a year.” My question is how does the franchise make billions a year. They make billions a year from the players who, when the games and consistently bowl games and don't even bring a little bit poor because people consider they are amateurs and they will do something poor with the money like use it on things that...

However this there are also some disadvantages to this such as you will never know if you are buying into a business which is already at the end of the life or they may be flaws within the business which is why the seller is selling the business.
