The Roman Republic could not be considered democratic because they didn't treat the plebeians equally. The Roman Republic only let Patricians be part of the Magistrates and Consuls and only former Magistrates could become a Senate, which meant the Patricians didn't nominalization on becoming a Senate. The Roman Republic was a very strong Republic who conquered the Greek colonies in southern Italy, all the greek lands in Asia, Northern Greece, and all of Greece by 149 BCE. When they conquered all of Greece they destroyed the ancient city of Corinth.
