Throughout high school, I have had my bumps in the road and have not tried to the best of my ability, but I have always gotten up from my falls and gotten better from it. There have been many things I've improved upon, including: homework, my studies, and where I focus all my thoughts. My effort level has also been a huge factor at school. I would love to go to college. I am applying to colleges this year. Throughout my years of thinking about what I’d like to do, I have come to the conclusion of becoming a criminologist and studying law at Cleveland State University. Though it may be hard, I know I can do it if I put my mind to it.
The first step in my success of getting into Cleveland State would be to show my community that I matter. By showing that I care about my community, I will gain respect from others and be able to accomplish bigger things. A good way to show colleges you are efficient enough for their programs is to be involved in many activities. VOFT is a very beneficial program during your high school years. My personality is bubbly and bright. It shows a lot about my character. I think colleges would be more likely to accept a happy person like me. Many of these types of things people take for granted. I like to cherish the small things and be proud of my accomplishments. As I got older I realized that education is a huge key to success. Being raised in Solano County, economic instability is a regular and constant impact on my community and family life. In the society that we live in, education is the only road to economic stability and success. Although higher education is not often a shared goal of many young people in my hometown of Vallejo, CA, I’d rather go to college to further my education then stay at home struggling on my life plan. Why I Want To Go To College

...As a Freshmen starting college, I feel as if every student should figure out what their values are. Most of my values deal with putting myself out there, such as with experiences more than stuff and getting out in the world. Many people would rather go shopping every day, but I would rather travel. The world is such a big place, and there are so many experiences just waiting to happen. Since I am from Georgia, I have traveled all of the way from here to California and here to New York. Even in just the United States, there are so many new things to do. In the past, I have only been out of the country twice, but before I die, I want to travel to at least every continent. My other main values go along with academics, including achievement, determination, and endurance. School has always been important to me, and with having these values, I have had success. Without determination, I would never want to do my work or study, but with having it, I can achieve anything. I have also always been active in sports; the main sport I participated in high school was cross country. This is a sport...

Is College Worth It Analysis

...assessment Do you think college is a privilege or a necessity? Well today in our society college is not an option anymore more like a necessity. “College may be worth it to some people, but the majority of the people that haven't even stepped foot into a college are doing better that the people that have gone to college for a masters degree.” stated in the article(Is college worth it?) by . Just because your parents and family expect you to go to college and get a degree doesn't really mean you have to, unless you think it's the right thing to do. Parents Know a days expect their child or student to go to college, So it is more like pressured/forced then actually expecting or wanting to do it. Going to college and getting a degree does not necessarily guarantee that an individual is gonna get a good hard working job afterwards. But it's all up to the person and what they want to achieve in life. Personally college is something i might look forward to in life but just seem like i can do my dream job without so i'm not too worried. There are valid arguments for both sides....

Should College Athletes Be Paid Essay

...Should College Athletes be Paid? Why should college athletes be paid or not? In this article it says, “Big time college football and basketball programs generate billions a year in TV and marketing contracts, tickets sales, and merchandising.” Why I choose this topic is because If the college players don't bring any money for the TV , tickets, and merchandising then that is wrong. They should, at least, have 10% of what they sell that has the player's last name on it .I am on the pro side why I am is because If a person buys an item that has something to do with them, then they should be paid a little amount of what the regular price is of the item. I am going to tell you a few Pros about college players getting paid. First of all, in the text it says, “ Big time college football and basketball programs generate billions a year.” My question is how does the franchise make billions a year. They make billions a year from the players who, when the games and consistently bowl games and don't even bring a little bit poor because people consider they are amateurs and they will do something poor with the money like use it on things that...

Why I Chose To Go To College

...Everyone has different reasons on why they choose to go to college, personally ever since I was young I had always seen myself going to college. I always had that determination to receive a higher education then just high school and attain a job that would exceed what my family members had. Growing up my father and everyone I saw around me would work in the fields which is a honest job, but I never wanted to go there to wake up to cold mornings at 5am, to work in the middle of the hot sun at 12pm, and go home at 5pm and receive a check that would still put you in a poverty level of income. I wanted to be more than that and I knew the only way that could happen was if I got a degree. With that I also wanted to give myself the opportunity my...

Linda Lee The Case Against College Summary

...“The Case Against College” “He did not go to study philosophy. Nor did he feel it incumbent to go to class or complete courses,”(1) states Linda Lee in her “The Case Against College.” Lee describes her thought process about sending her son to college. Why would you send your son or daughter to college if they were not fully willing? After all, you are the one who will pay whether they are sitting in the 8 AM lab, half asleep or not. “America is obsessed with college.”(1) All kids are smart to an extent, but anything past a high school diploma is not absolutely not for some.
