Not every human in this world has great health in fact a lot of people struggle with illnesses and medical issues. You may think that in today's society we have found a cure for every disease out there but that's not the case. There are a lot of illnesses that people have and we have not found a cure. Without a cure most people who are affected will never get cured and will live with a sick lifestyle for the rest of their life's which can lead to potential death. This is why we have laboratories across the world to help us find the cures to diseases and try and save peoples lives. With the laboratory we are able to find cures but we are achieving this by testing on animals and that's the world wide controversy people don't believe that animal …show more content…
According to the New York Times "research has resulted in life-changing medical advances for our most serious public health challenges." Thanks all the laboratories across the world with the help of animals we can use them for experimental research and try to find a cure to these diseases in hopes of one day to end deadly diseases. Even though these animals are being taken away from their habitat these animals are being thrown in cages and suffer emotionally and physically pain. Most animals are simply a laboratory experiment and the animals are being injected with chemicals they catch infections and will eventually die but we also find success even when animals are being treated unfairly there helping us find a cure too many diseases out there that are killing people. These animals may be suffering but something good is coming out of something …show more content…
Unfortunately we cannot test on human because they have rights and the law protects them it's not possible for a person to be held hostage in a laboratory and being used as a lab experiment. There is a reason why they keep using animals because animals are the best solution possible. How different is it from an animal being killed to be used for clothing and or a designer bag. Millions of animals get killed yearly and end up in a department store at least the animals at the end of the laboratories end up saving the life's of millions of people. As of today animals have been the reason why we have found the cure to a lot of diseases and were able to have medication for most illnesses. Everything that the animals go through is not for nothing we are getting results that are saving lives. Without animal testing we would not be where we are today in out medical

Why Are Animal Testing Important

...Animals have helped animals in many ways. One of the biggest ways they have helped us is with medical research. Animal testing has helped to save multiple lives. However, people still argue that animal research shouldn’t be legal, even though it’s the best way to get accurate andsafe cures.Scientists should use animals as test subjects on medical expierents. Many people argue that animal testing is cruel, however, this isn’t true at all, in fact, history has shown quite the opposite. Animal testing has helped save many animals from extinction, some of these species include the Black Footed-Ferret, the California Condor, and the Brazilian Tamarans. In fact, Koalas were once almost endangered due to an epidemic of a sexually transmitted disease called Chlamydia, however, due to animal testing, scientists managed to find a way to significantly slow down and treat the early stages of...

Argumentative Essay

...Essay Animal Testing All around the world, animal testing has been a controversial and talked about topic. It has helped the human race become more advanced in sciences and technology. Could the human medicine be as advanced if animal testing not allowed? Animal testing has opened many doors for medicine and helped so many people with tragic illnesses like cancer and AIDS. Animal experiments and testing is a good thing because it makes safe drugs, safe cosmetics, and helps people with deadly illness. Animal research has played a major part in the development of medicine to make it safer for people to take. First, testing new medications on animals is very important before releasing it to the public. For example, a drug called Thalidomide was prescribed to pregnant women in Europe to reduce nausea. The Thalidomide medication caused 10,000 babies to have birth defects. “It was largely avoided in North America because federal health and drug agencies believed Thalidomide had not been adequately tested on animals” (Research). Another reason why it is important to test drugs on animals before giving it to humans is because back in 1937 an antibacterial drug was released and killed 107 people. Manufacturers at the time did not have to prove if drugs were safe to take before being sold. Drug testing on animals goes to prove how important it is for drugs to be experimented on animals before being released to the public. Second, since people are so much like animals, we can...

...of Animal Testing in Cosmetic Companies Preface The ethical treatment of animal testing is a controversial topic in the field of zoology. Different aspects on animal testing range from positivity to negativity. Animals such as dogs and rats are used for experimental trials because they have been found to have psychological and genetic correlations that relate to humans. Although the benefits and improvements to modern medicine made it possible to ban animal experimentation completely, animals are still the main subjects in cosmetic industries. Something important to keep in mind when it comes to animal experimentation is that, “Most experimentation has nothing to do with disease research… it is cosmetic product testing” (Medical News Online). According to the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) over one hundred million animals suffer from experiments to test cosmetics. Many people stand against animal experimentation claiming that animals are not ours to experiment on, and even though that’s an important point, there are many other issues that should be discussed. For example, ninety two percent of all animal trials in cosmetics that are effective on animals are ineffective on humans (ASPCA). Meaning that the reasoning behind it is the lower cost of animal testing provided to those companies. Unfortunately, theses experiments are the cheapest options and some companies are required by the FDA to test all new cosmetic ingredients on animals. Animal testing can...

Why Is Animal Testing Wrong

...you feel if you were locked in a cage, with people coming and going, experimenting on you? Would you feel good? This is what actually happens to animals. I believe that animal testing is horrible and should not be continued. Why this is important is because of my reasons, that are: first it is expensive; second that it is inaccurate; and my third and most important reason is because animal testing abuses an animal rights. My first reason why I think animal testing is bad is because it is really expensive. According to Vittana “... the total cost of caring for a dog could be over $9000 per year.”. That is only a possibility, and only that, but the cost could still be well over $500, which is the least amount required, and even though...

...Alternative Ways to Animal Testing In the world today, science has seen its better days. Scientific methods developed and invented scientists have been used to demonstrate and explain almost everything in the world. Researchers studying biological issues have produced reports informing about the issues that surround us. For example, in tests that require human spacemen have been conducted using non-human animals for biological animal testing all over the world. Research has shown that about 100 million vertebrates are used for animal tests in the world every year; it has been reported that about 20 million rats were used within the United States for testing in 2001 (Hart, Wood, & Hart 35). This is alarming as far as animal protection issues are concerned. Animal rights organizations have however differed with these reports about the same issues raising havoc in matters of biological testing (Hunnicutt 65). This contradiction raises ethical issues in the field of scientific research requiring quick reconciliation of both groups to solve the problems of slowed critical medical researches; the Last Chance for Animals (LCA) and the Foundation for Biomedical Research (FBR) are an example of such differing research bodies. The Last Chance for Animals advocates for the abolition of the practise while FBR finds the practice legitimate and significant. This paper concentrates at the differing points of view of Last Chance for Animals and The Foundation for Biomedical Research...

Ethical Implications Of Animal Testing

...implications of product testing and experimentation on animals have become a very controversial topic in recent years. Some companies choose to test their products on animals before putting them on the market for consumption by the general public. Other companies experiment on animals in hopes of learning new information that could improve the quality or longevity of human lives. Even though some companies have already changed their policies regarding experimentation on animals, there are still many well-known companies that choose to engage in this practise. Some of the most well-known companies that have not changed their policies regarding product testing on animals include Aveeno, Clorox, Head and Shoulders and Tide. These companies...

Why Is Animal Testing Wrong

...If you think animal testing is inhumane you’re wrong. There is a large chance that you and millions of other people may not be alive right now without animal testing. Since they have been tested on with medicines, cures, vaccines and billions of other products you use we don’t have to face the brutal consequences. Even though many animals suffer from harmful chemicals and drugs, many “animals themselves benefit from the result of animal testing” (Should Animals Be Used 5). This being said, animal testing is important to conduct because animals are similar for humans, it is highly regulated, and it’s a small price to pay for advancing medical progress. First, animals are appropriate research subjects because they are similar to human beings in many ways. According to the text, “Chimpanzees share 99% of their DNA with humans” (4). This means that the tests we do on animals are extremely accurate. Another example is, “All mammals including humans are descended from common ancestors, and all have the same set of organs (heart, kidney, lungs, etc) that function essentially the same way” (4). This shows that any medication being tested will go through the same organs as us. This...

Animal Testing Pros

...Animal testing has been a hot topic of debate for centuries, dating experimentation all the way back to ancient Greece with Aristotle. Two polar opposite sides clash on the daily; those who want animal testing banned, and those who want it regularly applied. While researching on the internet, the first impression you receive is from animal rights organizations loudly protesting the laboratory critters--vocalizing opinions about how “animal testing should be banned from laboratories”; but is what they say the full story? Animal testing has been the source of countless human achievements including a better understanding of life and valuable cures for diseases, and several laws demand the use of animal testing before human trials. Animal experimentation...

Animal Testing Harmful

...Animal Testing and the Harmful Processes Animal testing has been around for a number of years, yet the medical field can’t seem to catch up to the cosmetic field in testing technologies. Humans should put an end to animal testing. Animals’ perception of time makes the pain they are put through inhuman at best. Animal testing is often just previously done tests that already haven’t worked, making testing redundant and a waste of time. Animal testing is unnecessary with computer programs and human cell donations and growing technology outdoing any previous results from animal testing. Animal testing is important since living cells are the best way to see how medicines and diseases work. Without live cells to properly process and show the results...

Arguments Against Animal Testing

...small rodents risk their lives around the world in order to help us. Taking small animals and holding them down while injecting chemical substances into their eyes and body is humane? Animals have no say in what we can do to them. The animals go through severe suffrage for our needs. There are many negative outcomes of animal testing, but there are alternatives we could be using instead of living creatures. Animals should not be used for the testing of products. What is animal testing? Animal testing is the testing in which humans practice medical procedures on animals. Cosmetics and bath products are usually tested on the animals, and are the most common tests. These experiments can lead to death, and severe injuries....

..."When I look into the eyes of an animal, I do not see an animal. I see a living being. I see a friend. I feel a soul.” This quote was written by Anthony Douglas Williams. Millions of animals are poisoned and killed every year because of experiments they are forced to participate in. Although on the other side of the debate people argue that animal testing is the best option to find cures for diseases. However, it is important for people to know that products should absolutely not be tested on animals because they suffer from the experiments, species of animals are becoming endangered, and there are many alternatives that scientists could use instead. My first reason why it is absolutely critical that products are not tested on animals is because...

Save Animals. Say No to Animal Testing!

...Argumentative essay: Save animals. Say no to animal testing! Nowadays, it is a well-known fact that many companies test their products like cosmetics and medicines with animals before production to check their products ’safety and quality. A huge amount of animals are used in research purpose every year. Is it right for human beings to sacrifice millions of animals for testing purpose? Should animal testing be banned? Animal testing is a controversial issue and there is a heated debated about pros and cons of animal testing in society. People hold different points of view. Supporters of animal testing think that animal testing are critical to medical and scientific development. Opponents of animal testing think that animal testing is inhumane and cruel. It is generally believed that animal testing should be banned because it is unethical, unreliable and unnecessary. First and foremost, it would be interesting to see that supporters of animal testing argue that animals do not have feelings and rights. They are convinced that it is right to take animals ‘lives and make them suffer because they think human beings are more superior to other animals. They also think that only small amount of animals are being harm and kill each year. Actually, animals also do have feelings and rights, they are not deserve to suffer for research purpose. One should however, not forget that large amount of animals are killed because of us, there are actually 19.5 million animals are killed every year...

Animals are used for biology lessons, medical training, curiosity driven experiments, and chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics testing. Because of animal testing, many cures and treatments to an array of diseases and illnesses have been discovered. But too many animals are sacrificed each year. There are many reasons why animal testing is not necessary to the development of the human population. First, animals are killed and injured. Animal Testing Research Paper

... The irony in this statement is that often humans are the cause of the cruelties, rather than the victims of them. We, as human beings, tend to see ourselves as morally more important than all other species. This is a form of discrimination called speciesism. Speciesism is a broad topic that can lead to many, equally important issues in society. One of the most prominent results of speciesism is animal experimentation. Some people view this form of testing as a perfectly adequate way to make advancements in science, whereas others see it as a violation of animal rights. Therefore, my goal in this paper is to answer the question:...
