Final Year Essay
Economic development in South Korea
First of all, I decided to do my final year essay on South Korea’s marketing because I’m a massive fan of this country. Indeed, I have chosen economics as my study option. Then, it was obvious to talk about the Mark in South Korea during a whole year.
I had to answer a question which was “Why South Korea will soon be the most influent country in the world ?”. Through different themes, I’m going to answer to this question again.

However, I would like to remind you what the market is. It comes from the verb “to market”. It’s a process of communicating the value of a product or service to consumers, for the purpose of selling that product or service. In my own words, I think the marketing is a market study where people need to find a new product, with its promotion and price and where selling the product is the main goal. To make benefits is the main goal.

So, South Korea is a country in East Asia. More than 50 million people live in South Korea. Its surname is “Asian Tiger”. In terms of gross domestic product which is the total amount of goods and value produced in a country each year, South Korea ranks 15th in the world. It is one of the most industrialised country. The south Korean economy is very special because before the sixties, it was one of the poorest country in the world. An employee only gained about 260 dollars a year while today, south Korean have an income of 20 000 dollars a year. Before 2000, S.Korea had an inflation of almost 10% while the average inflation is 2%. It is one of the few countries that were able to avoid a recession. Nowadays, nobody can stop this fast-growing country.

The south Korean economy relies mainly on the international trade. In 2010, the Asian tiger was the sixth largest exporter in the world. Each south-korean port is specialised about a certain industry. For example, Pyeongtaek is a port specialised in the automobile field.

It is also important to know that the unemployment rate is 3.6% which is a very low rate. For example, in Belgium, the unemployment rate is 8.4%.
The adult literacy is almost perfect with a rate of 98%.

South korea is also the heart of multinationa corporations, Samsung is a society created by a south-korean called Lee Byung Chull. He only had less than 25 euros to become an owner. Today, Samsung’s sales figures are more than 320 billion euros and its benefits are 30 billion euros. It sells more smartphones than the other famous and big society Apple. Samsung not only sells smartphones, they also offer cooking lessons. They even created a theme park called “Samsung everland”.

About sports, kim Yuna is a south-korean ice-skater who had won two times the ice-skating cup during the Olympic games.
In addition, Olympic games of 2018 will take place in Pyeongchang (not Pyeongyang) in S. korea

Furthermore, South Korea always have to be first. Here, we only have the 4G, which is the network of 4th generation, since a few months but in S. Korea, they have the 4G since 2010 and they already think about the 5G. It will be released in a few years.

The second most important industry in korea is the musical industry. You must have heard the song gangnam style by the singer Psy. It’s a phenomenal success but it’s not the only one. The success of kpop, Korean pop, is called the “Hallyu wave” also called the Korean wave. Even Barack Obama knows the hallyu wave and talk about it during one of his speech in S. Korea and the French channel TF1 had a covering on the kpop during their tv show “sept à huit”.
Kpop is mainly composed of boysband and girlsband. It’s an important field in S. Korea. In 2012, For SM Entertainment, the biggest label in korea, 117 billion euros were the sales figures.

I think that s. korea is a country facing the future. Through the body of my work, we can see that Korea has many and various projects in road and do not stop innovating. Today, it has already acquired a very good place worldwide. However, it won’t stop to follow this such good way and will undoubtedly become first in all areas. Moreover, it is clear that Korea has countless years of beautiful creations, structures and achievements of projects.
