Is Taylor Swift going bad? We all remember the “Goodie-Goodie” country singer, Taylor Swift, and we all stuck by her when she grew out of that and entered her popstar phase, but now that’s all out the window. On August twenty fourth Taylor Swift’s new song swept over the nation with mixed reviews. The video is so explicit that it is blocked on the school’s computers. Even her album names are changing, Reputation is scheduled to be released on November tenth of this year, all I can say is her reputation is on the line.As of now we don’t know what to expect first it was Miley Cyrus the Selena Gomez and now Taylor Swift. Her audience is growing with her, kids our age remember her country days and jammed out to her pop phase but I think this is

Media Review Essay

...is said to be fully on music piracy. Personally, and with many media sources, the music industry is just turning into one big bully, trying to find any possible way to engulf everyone’s lunch money that they deserve. Nevertheless, There is actually a few benefits within this frowned upon cyber stealing that artist, producers, and marketing teams have admitted are actually helping them succeed within the new generation of the music industry. Therefore, a lot of media will be laid out to identify why the industry is spreading the rumors on such a downfall when the industry is doing better than ever before. Many artists, that everyone will most likely know worldwide, have spoken up on why piracy is not bad but rather helpful in sales and who are also collecting a fan base faster then ever before. Furthermore, the focus will continue on the benefits of music piracy and the ways it is already working; such focus will conclude on why an independent artist and A-list artist should actually go all in on this little issue and just accept where music piracy is heading. It was the year 1999 when Napster was built up among the cyber community that which was an independent peer-to-peer file sharing service that helped many college student and people just on the web to easily receive MP3’s of an artists album. It was a time for people who could not purchase albums, who were not as fortunate enough as others, to finally hear and own the music that they...

Where this thing could go? Am I crazy or falling in love? Is it really just another crush? Do you catch a breath When I look at you? Are you holding back Like the way I do? 'Cause I'm trying, trying to walk away But I know this crush ain't going Away……Going away Has it ever crossed your mind When we're hanging, Spending time, girl, are we just friends Is there more Is there more See it's a chance we've gotta take 'Cause I believe that we can make this Into something that'll last Last forever Forever [chorus] Why do I keep running from the truth (Why do I keep running) All...

Behind the Smiles

...radio on, my old blue jeans And I`m wearing my heart on my sleeve Feeling lucky today, got the sunshine Could you tell me what more do I need And tomorrow`s just a mystery, oh yeah But that`s ok [Repeat Chorus] Maybe I`m just a girl on a mission But I`m ready to fly [Repeat Chorus] Back To December I'm so glad you made time to see me How's life? Tell me, how's your family? I haven't seen them in a while You've been good, busier than ever We small talk, work and the weather Your guard is up, and I know why Because the last time you saw me Is still burned in the back of your mind You gave me roses, and I left them there to die So this is me swallowing my pride Standing in front of you, saying I'm sorry for that night And I go back to December all the time It turns out freedom ain't nothing but missing you Wishing I'd realized what I had when you were mine I go back to December, turn around and make it alright I go back to December all the time These days, I haven't been sleeping Staying up, playing back myself leaving When your birthday passed, and I didn't call Then I think about summer, all the beautiful times I watched you laughing from the passenger side And realized I loved you in the fall And then the cold came, the dark days When fear crept into my mind You gave me all your love, and all I gave you was goodbye So this is me swallowing my pride Standing in front of you,...

Description of Law and order In the criminal justice system, sexually based offenses such as rape, torture, pedophilia and child-abuse are dealt with in New York City, by a special unit of detectives of the police department known as the Special Victims Unit. These crimes are then passed on to the courtroom for prosecution. Law and order is a crime-based drama, with a mixture of ‘court-room’ and ‘detective’, TV series, mainly shown on channel five. By reading the description of the show, I immediately realised that this is a show that is based around the world of crime and how the crime is dealt with within the city of New York. It starts from finding who the criminal is and then we follow the story up to the prosecution in the court room. Words such as ‘courtroom, ‘rape’, ‘victim’, ‘detective’ immediately grabs the reader’s attention, giving us the impression of the type of genre this TV series is. The picture that accompanies the description also shows that the genre of this series is crime as the main detective is pulling out her police badge and is what the...

Nursery Rhymes

...Nursery Rhymes- The Origin What do I say about nursery rhymes? We have grown up reciting them. They were and are an important part of our childhood. We sung them during class, at home, in front of guests, in the playground and a lot of us sing them even today. Nursery rhymes were like the first form of music that we learnt and to a 3 year old, I bet they are like the Beatles or ABBA or even Taylor Swift! But, recently, I have been wondering whether or rather WHAT these rhymes mean because, to me, they all sound pretty destructive. We sing about children breaking their heads, lying and laughing about it and weird eggs falling off walls (well, nowhere is it written that humpty dumpty was an egg, but that’s another topic all together). Anyway, so I decided to look it up. I decided to find out from where these nursery rhymes originated and what they mean… Oh! And what I read, well, it was shocking. Apparently, most of the rhymes were originated centuries ago and were used as a mode of free speech by many. They would write these rhymes to criticize the political scenes of the time as open criticism would get them killed. Hence obviously they don’t mean happy and joyous things. But, it makes me sad to think that little children sing about such violence. Ill tell you about the meanings of a few commonly sung rhymes across the globe… 1. Jack and Jill- Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water Jack fell down and broke his crown And Jill came tumbling after...

Terror in Todays Society

...explosive devices to create fear in people and the people cannot go about their daily life they normally would. These catastrophic events have forced military medical and physiological experts to re-evaluate their understanding of mass casualty terrorism. The primary goal of terrorism is to disrupt society by provoking intense fear and shattering all sense of personal and community safety. When a terror attack occurs in the USA the impact from the attack is felt economically. Whether the attack be nuclear or biological. From the point of view of threatened governments there has been two tasks: first, to try to prevent the terrorist event from taking place and second, if prevention fails, to deal with the after-effects or consequences, (Heymann, Philip 2001) including the remarkably large political effect of acts of terrorism. Although terrorists plan is to spread as much fear into citizens of the United States of America, our security continues to strengthen and we become stronger as a nation. Through advances in technology and the use of special resources, hopefully one day we can stop all terrorist attempts thus making more peace on earth. When a terrorist strikes it is to make a statement or to keep citizens in their houses and to try and disrupt our life from the normalcy. A car bomb or a backpack full of explosives is all it can take to cause mass panic and casualties. A way to combat this is to stay vigilante and go about our lives as normal as we can. Deterrence of terrorism...

Iliad vs Odessey

...the people during the time that the epics were written A very diverse Greek culture was shown in the Iliad and the Odyssey Just like what was previously mentioned , people in ancient Greece revered their heroes . The people then consider men or women who were endowed with superhuman abilities which were believed to have come from the gods and the goddess as their heroes . These heroes likewise embodied the character of the Greek people as a whole . Homer used the different characters in the two epic to give a picture of how society and the people was during the earlier times Achilles was regarded as the handsomest , the swiftest , the strongest and the bravest of the Greeks (Taylor , Online ) and his being half-immortal has something to do with this . His fighting prowess was said as the main reason why the Greeks were winning the battle against the Trojans . And as a matter of fact , his quitting in the middle of the war paved the way for the Trojans to advance . These physical...

Bullying

...product of ignorance from today’s society. Agencies like the Department of Education could start implementing stricter rules to protect students. Bullying has become a problem that needs to be addressed as soon as possible to protect victims everywhere. Bullying has become a main issue and as time goes on it seems as if there is nothing that can done to prevent it from happening. Whether the bully hassles that person or they see it happening to someone else down the road, it is something everyone encounters every day no matter where they go. To understand the actions of bullying, people first need to understand what a bully is. There is no specific type of a bully or their victim; they come in all shapes and sizes. Some bully because they have a hard life at home, others may bully because they simply find joy in making others feel smaller than they do personally. It is easy to identify why people are victims of bullying, but pinpointing why people become the bully is one question that is not simple to answer. II. Body Bullying occurs everywhere. It is happening in our schools, malls, playgrounds, and in our workplaces. It is common to hear about bullying in the schoolyard with children acting their age and picking on other children, but it happens outside of the schoolyards and in the work force. Some...

The way the author described Beatty, he sounded like a big guy with a low voice. Also, his emotions were mostly expressed as anger and rage. Even though he didn’t always show it. Mentally, he knew what he was going to do, and he did it. Meaning, intellectually he was not very good at deciphering what was good and/or bad. 6. Marketing Product

...commercials are clever, effectively marketed. Each of the TV commercials is less or a little more than 30 seconds which depends on how much the company willing to pay for their product’s exposure. Each commercial has a target market they want to reach and the success of the product depends on the consumers buying their product. The three brands throughout the years have shown brand loyalty and I believe that it is what keeps them so successful and current. I want to start off talking about Abercrombie & Fitch; they are never out of the limelight. I would have to say they are the most controversial successful retail company that continues to push the envelope when they run commercials or poster ads. I truly believe that there isn’t any bad publicity for this company “controversy sells.” The market demographics are tailored to the young teenagers who have the disposable income to spend their money or have a say where they want their parents to spend the money. The argument could be that the parents are holding the cash or credit cards that funds most of its young customers’ transactions so with the racy commercials and ads is a calculated risk on the company. However, teenagers know what they want and what brand of clothing they want to wear so they will convince or find a way to buy the brand. I remember when I was in high school and...

The Story of Andrea Fields

...Elizabeth Seifert Geanross N. Garrido IV-Pilot \ November 4, 2013 Rachel C. Tambanillo Teacher “Call a cab, Lose my number, You're about to lose your girl. Call a cab, Lose my number, Let's consider this lesson learned. Don't look at me, You've got a girl at home, And everybody knows that, Everybody knows that, ah ah.” is the bridge part of the song Girl At Home by Taylor Swift. This song is one of my favorites. Its bridge struck me most. Because of this song I remember a story of a beautiful, young, and respected woman doctor who’s in love. It is entitled The Story of Andrea Fields written by Elizabeth Seifert, who wrote more than 80 novels about doctors after quitting medical school and died at the age of eighty-four years old. The book was published by The New American Library, Inc. in 1950. It is a book of fiction that has 272 pages and divided into 13 chapters. It has no ISBN. It was purchased in the Books & Mags Bookstore for fifteen pesos in the year 2001. Someone once told Elizabeth Seifert that women did not belong to medicine and that was the reason why she quitted medical school after a year and a half. In this story, she will let us – the readers – realize that no matter what gender we have, if we really love that work even though it is not suitable for our gender, if it is all we wanted to do, if it is what we had dreamed of doing, we can fulfill that by giving our best in succeeding that dream for us to be able to work with those people...
