They see how hard I study and how important my grades are to me that it encourages them to do the same in their high school studies now. They actively partake in my studies now, which in turn, results in them asking me questions on what I am studying. Having them involved is having them engaged in their own thought processes. If I have done that for them then I feel like I am doing my job as a Mother. I encourage them to follow in my footsteps so that they can have a better life for themselves. ...Why College is Important to Me College is important to me for a couple of reasons. The reasons that going to college are important to me are so that I can prove to myself that I am capable of completing something as challenging as college and to show my children that no matter how long it takes, you can complete your goals and dreams. At the age of sixteen I dropped out of high school. I was not being challenged, the work was boring and the drama of high school was more than I wanted to be a part of. I had dreams of becoming a model and someday having a family. I began working immediately and was very happy. At the age of 18, I became pregnant and got married and soon had two children. I don’t believe that I am a typical college student, most students are looking to further their career or make more money; to find that new career. For me, it’s not about a new job or more money, but a sense of personal accomplishment and a desire to be an example to my kids. College View advises “more than ever, attending college provides opportunities for graduates which are not as widespread to those who have not received a higher education.” I didn’t believe that a college education was important. I thought that having a job, being a mom and being a functioning part of the society was enough. Until now, it was. I now have four children and each of them are starting their futures with a college education. I want to teach my children how important a college education is. According...

...Why college education is important to me? Attending college provides an individual with an opportunity for a better future. A resume containing a college degree is high testimony of a person's capability to perform at a high level. It is the instrument recognized around the world for showcasing and documenting evidence of one's achievement. If one does not undergo any form of training or education, the individual stands the chance of only being qualified for a low skilled/low paying job. The ability to take care of oneself with a decent standard of living would be difficult as the disposable income for a low skilled job would be minimal. This could also mean taking a job that works on a shift system and more times than not missing the possibility of attending college. Secondly the economy now is not the same as it was in the past three years. Currently the world is in a recession and jobs are scarce. Even persons with educational degrees are struggling to find decent paying jobs. The search for a good job is ten times as hard for today's high school graduates. This heightens the necessity of a college degree as only the most qualified will be chosen for the scarce jobs that exists. Knowledge of the world is important and interacting with persons from different walks of life broadens an individual thinking. The interactive classroom where one gets to interact with these individuals allows you to learn about other cultures and norms. This enriches the information imparted...

...Why college education is important to me By Coleman Rickels College education is essential to me for my advancement in my career field. It is nessesary for me to aquire a degree in my field to recieve a promotion into a managment position. I have chosen construction managment because I am currently employed in the construstion field as a laborer and would like to advance in that career and become a manager in the same field. I love construction, I enjoy getting up early in the morning and meeting my crew at our yard. I enjoy the ride to the job site with the people I will be spending my day with. I like conversing with them and learning more about them every day. I enjoy getting to the jobsite, warming up the equipment, and gathering all the tools we will need to complete the days tasks. I enjoy working throughout the day and working with each other to achieve the set goals for the day. I enjoy coming upon a problem and having to put our minds together to overcome it and resume work. I believe aquiring this degree will open up a new side of the construction field for me. I would like to move into a management position and find new things about the construction field I enjoy doing. As John F. Kenedy said; “Let us think of Education as the means of developing our greatest abilities, because in each of us there is a private hope and dream which, fulfilled, can be translated into benefit for everyone and the greater strength of our nation”. I believe that earning this degree...

...AC1303130 EN110 Achieving Academic Excellence Writing Assessment 5_11 9 June 2013 “Why college education is important to me” “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.”(Benjamin Franklin) As a child I struggled my way through school. I was never a straight “A” student, but I always pushed myself. I graduated from high school and went on to my first year of college. Completed that year and got married and had kids. Now many years later here I am back in school. I have grown a lot over the years. When I look back I regret not finishing school at that time, in life I don’t want to have any regrets. The early childhood profession is not for the faint of heart or the passive individual. (Josue Cruz Jr. 2008) As a mother of three I am used to being with kids and how tough it can be. So when I kind of stumbled upon my job I wasn’t sure if it was truly for me, but I decided go for it. I remember walking into the infant room my first day of work and jumping right in, at the end of the day I came home and told my husband. “I’m meant for this. This is what I want to do.” Now a few months later I am enrolled in college to achieve my degree in Early Childhood Education. So when asked why college education is important to me. First and foremost my strongest push is me. I want to do this for myself. Show myself even if I struggle I can do this. I do this for my children and my husband. We are a military family and have moved all over the place and I’ve always stayed home and...

My goals are to become an SSI scuba diver instructor, a business owner, an accountant, and much more. I know I have to take one step at a time, but I will take full advantage to any opportunity that comes my way with an open mind and joyous heart.
