...Decision Making Process Wilmar Smith MGT/230 March 22, 2012 Ralph Apuan Decision Making Process Making decisions is about choices and how to go about them. Making a choice is about being decisive and following through with a plan and pushing forward. But how does one make a decision? According to “Bateman & Snell (2011)“, there are six steps in making a decision; identify and diagnose the problem, generate alternative solutions, evaluate alternatives, make the choice, implement the decision, and evaluate the decision.” (Bateman & Snell, 2011) The first step in making a decision is said to identify and diagnose the problem. This allows you to understand that a problem exists and that a solution must be formulated. Understanding that a problem is there allows you to understand where you are and where you want to be. As stated in”Bateman & Snell (2011) “, “creating a structure hypothesis is the first step in understanding your problem, followed by prioritizes the hypotheses testing, test hypotheses then coming to a conclusion about the problem. Utilizing these steps in recognizing a problem and understanding it is a portion in being in the managing field. (Bateman & Snell, 2011; Powerful Problem Solving, 2012) Generating alternative solutions is the step that connects to the diagnosing the problem; once you have realized what the full status of the problem is it is time to begin molding your solution. According to “Bateman & Snell (2011) “, there are two directions you...

...I can’t say a whole lot about the supply chain details about the company I work for due to the fact that most of the ordering is done by a case by case basis. I work as a maintenance supervisor for a property management company in the Denver, CO area. Each property is different, so depending on the age of the property, will depend on what supplies is needed. The property that I work at was just recently bought by the company I work for. Most of the time when the company buys a new property they upgrade as many of the features as possible. Some of the upgrades are done in-house by my maintenance staff and then some by sub-contractors. We do use some supply companies that are national based like Whirlpool, HD Supply and Wilmar. I’m sure that these companies has a supply chain that enables their organization to enhance their supply chain routine by integrating information from its supply chain which allows its managers, and employees to make more up-to-date and speedy decisions. I’m sure they benefit from an amplified perception to complete their spend process with other suppliers. With a complete insight into the aspects that influence their spend performance, these organizations can greatly reduce costs, improve profits, grow customer approval, and increase an advantage over other business. The supplier regularly do not accomplish the anticipated assistances anticipated from the investments made and, many times, this area of procurement receives too little attention and budget...

...Report on MPSEZ Visit By Saleem Ali IPR Course, Quarter 1 Dr. Preeta Vyas September, 29, 2011. Introduction Mundra Port first commenced operations in 1998 with one berth. Today MPSEZ (Mundra Port and special economic zone) is the largest and one of the most efficient private ports in India. The major contributing factors to the astounding success of Mundra Port are as follows: 1. Ready Availability of Cargo: The primary purpose of any port is to facilitate the smooth movement of cargo and related ships. In fact one of the parameters for measuring the efficiency of a port is to measure the time as to how fast a particular cargo/commodity is moved to/from the port. The faster the movement the more efficient is the port. As Adani Group was already in trading business and thus had ample cargo waiting for efficient movement so the port so constructed was bound to succeed. The existing port facilities were poor and inadequate at that time and hence the trading business of Adani group was suffering due to lack of such port. 2. Strategic Location: Mundra Port is strategically located in Northern Gulf of Kutch and provides a convenient international trade gateway to Europe, Africa, America and the Middle East. It also has a large land area available for development, part of which is now the Mundra SEZ which proposes to attract port-led industrial development. Thus though initially the scope of port was just a captive jetty for Adani Group, but there was...

...personal values and beliefs, the nurse can examine why they entered the nursing field. With this introspective activity, the nurse can find balance and meaning in the workplace (Deheny, 2001). What is the Relationship Between Your Personal Philosophy of Nursing and Your Professional Practice? My personal philosophy of nursing is based on caring and compassion. With these core beliefs, I strive to provide the best patient-centered care that I am capable of. Like many of my colleagues, the demands of nursing tire me emotionally and physically. The reduction in staff to patient ratio creates a tense environment. Our staff is under constant pressure to perform more work and to increase company profits. Demerouti, Baker, Nachreiner, and Wilmar (2000) write that the strong demand of the nursing field leads to exhaustion and disengagement. To counteract the stresses of my job, I make it a point to make myself completely available to at least one patient every shift. During this time, the patient has my complete attention. I forget about the notes I need to write and...
