Wilt Chamberlain

Athlete Wilt Norman Chamberlain is famous basketball player in the NBA and Wilt was born

August 21,1936 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania he was known as Wilt Silit for his 7?1 frame and

he hated that nickname Wilt Silit but it stayed with him for the rest of his life. Wilt was fifth of

the nine children that were by his parents and raised by William and Olivia Chamberlain and he

had two siblings that didn?t survive infancy by his parents. Wilt father worked as a janitor for a

publishing company as a part-time handyman and his mother worked as a housekeeper and took

was inducted by the hall of fame in 1978 he died in Bel- Air, California in 1999.

Wilt went the Shoemaker Junior High School and played basketball and he played basketball at

the playgrounds against older players they taught him a lot about the game then in 1952 Wilt

attended Overbrook High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and by that time he was already

6?11 tall and he came up with a term that was ?deep love for basketball? Wilt was a slower

learner and was self conscious about stutter in speech and it was not that wilt wasn?t smart

because other refereed him as bright and focused. Wilt childhood wasn?t that bad growing up his

home was a gathering place with many neighborhood kids between the siblings and friends Wilt

and his siblings worked for spending money and also helped bring money into the household and

it wasn?t that they were poor and they weren?t rich either the Chamberlains just taught they kids

at early age how the finds ways the get money on they own and Wilt always just wanted money
