Karen Hesse the author of a book Witness Karen uses multiple point a view to show how the Ku Klux Klan is bad and how people thought they were good.The Ku Klux Klan (K.K.K) is bad because they scare people, they hurt people, and they destroy stuff.
My first reason that the K.K.K is bad is that they scare people. In a book Witness by Karen Hesse on page 52 they lit a cross on fire, and on page 54 it says that Leonora got scared when she woke up and she hid in a closet. Also on page 55 it says “Only a lunatic would ignore the dry conditions or the fact that a crackling fire could spread so easily out of control.” So that is saying that people would not ignore it and people could be scared of what could happen. Another thing is that on page 134 it shows a kid being hurt and on page 14 it says he might not be dead and the person talking about it was saying the way he’s been hit no one could survive. It sounded how she was talking she was frightened if this could happen again by the K.K.K.
Another reason the the K.K.K are bad is because they hurt people. In the book Viola says to Harvey says “How could you do such a thing so you go in dressed in those K.K.K nightclothes of yours and you think that you’ll save the world from the evils of drink by raiding the place and smashing a few bottles.” Another example is that on page 114 the book says “Harvey Pettibone handed me rat poison from his store pour it sutter’s well he said.” That is destroying something because it is destroying people’s water and it also might kill people.
