...tasks have the potential to create greatness. The same concept applies to organizations in the world of business. Today’s workplace demands employees to be skilled in performing complicated tasks in a safe, efficient, cost effective manner. “This involves strategic planning which is a process used to determine how best to pursue the organization’s mission while meeting the demands of the environment in the near (e.g., next year or two) and long term (e.g., next five to ten years)” (Blanchard, 2013, p. 27). This paper will discuss the professional development plan for Home Depot to include; strategic planning, learning objectives, delivery methods, measurements/evaluations, timeframes, and expected results. Strategic Planning Completed in Wk 3 Learning Objectives The varieties of training courses that are offered at The Home Depot are numerous. There should be a clear objective that should be established before choosing which training course would be necessary and which training course would occur first. Learning objectives relate to which behaviors are needed to take place after each training for the employees to respond to the course correctly. The objective should give an explanation of when such behavior should occur and which part of the criteria is used to determine if the learning that took place was sufficient or not (Blanchard & Thacker, 2007). ...Change Wheel March 23, 2015 Unit 1 Change Wheel Reflection Personal Changes. I was of the age of 3 when my mom and moved to Grand Cayman. It changed my life in a major way because I was in a new country and it was all new to me. Few years later I got a little brother which was a positive change for me in my life, because it gave more responsibility. While in high school I join the Boy Scout association and that was the most positive change I made because I was given great opportunities and was discipline for life. In 2005 The Island was hit with a category 5 hurricane called Ivan that was major life changing experience due to the damage the storm cause. Shortly after my family moved from our district to another district a few miles north. We actually moved into a house and not an apt so that was a positive change and relief. One summer a few friends and I flew to England and we spent 6 wks doing a Euro Trip, which I really thought was a great experience in my life because I got to learn about different culture, food and meet new people. Global Changes When the internet came to the many households around the world it made things a lot easier to find via World Wide Web (“www”). Everything changed because School work, Homework and assignments were getting done a lot faster. Shortly after the internet, Cellphones were made. That’s when I think things changed around the world because we were now able to speak to family members that were overseas and on vacation or different...

...Learning Team Reflection Paper Wk. 3 Fundamentals of Corporate Finance, FIN/571 September 1, 2014 Suzanne Elliott This week Learning Team D addressed strategies regarding strategies business owners use to manage their working capital. Many business owners find great difficult in working the capital of the organization in favor. Working capital means that the amount of the current assets exceeds the amount of the current liabilities. The entrepreneurs need to first conclude the working capital necessities. In this discussion, most of the focus will be on the bakery market and it may reflect some similarities and generalizations with other industries. One instrument that can establish the working capital is the operating cycle. This vital tool computes the amount of days it will take to obtain the full amount on an account. Calculating the amount of days the sale of the inventory is also a factor in the operating cycle. In the video, one of the owners made it clear that if you were to purchase an asset for the business, it is important to consider the fact that returns from the purchase must be substantial enough to warrant the purchase. ...Wk 1 Introduction Reading the newspaper, listening to a change management strategy at a department meeting, hiring a new mid-level manager – what do all of these activities have in common? Critical thinking is required in each situation to adequately assess the situation and act accordingly. We may not be aware of the frequency with which we employ critical thinking, but it is vital to good decision making. Without critical thinking, managers can fall into the habit of reacting on impulse, responding to gut feelings alone, or relying only on the advice of others when making important decisions. Understanding the relationship between critical thinking and decision making is the first step towards making wise decisions. This week's focus is on critical thinking and how it relates to decision making. Topics include defining critical thinking, benefits of thinking critically, and the relationship between critical thinking and decision making. Week in Relation to the course Good decision making is the backbone of sound management. The University of Phoenix nine-step decision-making model requires a sequence of steps leading to a sound, defensible decision.
